  1. I ordered a lot of parts today and look forward to receiving the order. They offer some Ford stuff I have not seen before. I'll post pictures when they come in.
  2. Sound like fun and I'll be the first to say May the Force be with You. Insert Chewie sound here.
  3. I destroyed a DM 71 Boss 351 but I only had about $20 invested thnaks to a bulk auction some years ago. It was in perfect condition but without the original packaging. So why would I intentionally ruin it. My pet peeve is the MPC and MPC kits of 71-73 Mustangs as so bad they are in desperate need of some extra stock parts so I have had many parts resin cast to include the space saver spare, ram air plenum, air cleaner, door panels, front seats, seat belt retractors, shock tower bracing, dash, rim blow steering wheel, center console, rev limiter, and more. Since I had another perfect Boss and the blue DM Mach1 it was worth tearing one apart knowing it will never be the same. PS - nice save on the Camaro. These diecasts were not meant to be taken apart as so many parts are superglued.
  4. Cool idea to do the car as it was found. I have the body ready for primer but now you have me thinking going another route with my 2nd one. If you want to omit the Shelby roll bar mount the 70 Mach1 interior will fit. At least your car will be mostly one color unlike my 70 Palmer Boss 302.
  5. That would be my guess too. For some reason I did not get one when they were available. They pop up on Ebay once in a while.
  6. Sure looks like it.
  7. Yes - all of their decals look like knockoffs of Fred Cady and from anyone else that sold original decals.
  8. Amazing build with what looks like a box stock build with excellent detailing.
  9. Nice job. Now go enjoy a King Cobra beer on a job well done. Disclaimer - drink responsibly and do not try to build models when buzzed.
  10. Sure look that way, white letters i.e.
  11. I guess if you have never been (I have not) then I do not know what I have missed. I do know that in a four month span (Feb-May) I can go to five model shows (VA, NoVa, PA , NJ and MD) within a four hours drive and see a few thousand car models all without spending anything on hotels. While 99% of the models may not be up to GSL standards, I think the short term future of the hobby is still in these shows that are primarily geared toward the average to very good builder instead of the folks that dedicate two years on one model. I just hope these other shows are around for another decade or more but one look round the any of them it is obvious that unless more younger (under 50 LOL) builders start coming the attendance is going to peak pretty soon and start to decline to a point where we might end up in much smaller venues like the first NNL's. Sorry if I depressed anybody. Build until you drop.
  12. Looking good Cobraman.
  13. If you are particular about the color I think Pace Car white was a little different from Wimbledon white. Of course the engine compartment would be semi-gloss black.
  14. Some amazing figures, sci-fi, armor, planes ships too. Model total was just shy of 1.000.
  15. Nice score on the WIX Cobra - I have not seen many of them compared to the blue one. The JL GT500 isn't perfect as you know but the retail was about $25 at the time so the quality is about right. The diecast chassis is a little odd. Looks like the wheels could use some detailing and along with the backup lights. I like the Revell one more since it is kit you get to detail it to your liking without having to paint the body.
  16. Here's a sample of some of the cars entered. The quality was very good and I managed a third place with theBoss 302 in a new category for barnfinds and rust mobiles. That might been the first time a Palmer kit has ever won an award in a contest.
  17. There will about 95 Gundham models at the Richmond show today. Sorry to say I did not get any good pictures but I am sure they will pp up on-line in the coming days. I found this model mesmorizing for some reason.
  18. Welcome back. No pressure to crank out builds. Some of us may be guilty of looking at others work more than building our own.
  19. Stock it builds up to a 289 replica with a 427 body and a 1950's Ace chassis with small block Ford power. So a hybrid Cobra.
  20. Also seen on WhoopieKat decals website. Nice decals and builds.
  21. Are you using Whoopie Kat decals. I have an extra set of the Harr Ford ones if anyone is interested.
  22. I'l have to get a set. I did not see them in my pile of parts I've accumlated.
  23. It turned out beautiful in the factory black and silver. I have one stashed away with a spare tire and distributor but since I am still working for another year I will not get to mine until next year. I have only seen a handful built and have read a lot of critical reviews but I'm sure your customer will be very very happy. He got the deal of the year if you ask me.
  24. Check with Kevin @ motor City - he may sell it separate to you. Norman from R&M of MD cast some for me about 20 years ago so I doubt he has the molds anymore. Last resort is cut up a Johan Funny car (which is what I did) to make a master.
  25. Check Pattos Place in Australia. Website is a little tricky to wade through.
