Can I say freaking awesome and I bet you're glad it's almost done. Projects like this can get stalled when so much has to be engineered along the way. Make up some fake instructions and enter an IPMS box stock contest class and watch the looks on the judges faces.

For D Day- what is was really like. PICs

Not sure how many pictures were being taken that day with all the chaos. Photo's with the G's are probably more plentiful as it got safer later in hte war (you had a much better chance of surviving 25-30 missions) than before the P-51 escorts. My father flew in late 44 and early 45 over mostly Germany and was based in England. I found mission records at the National Archives but finding pictures is very hard given that thousands of B-17's were made. Anyway, here is Captain Turner and his crew training in Texas. Whenever I think I am having a bad day I think I should not be complaining at all. -
Interesting that the body looks pretty stock. I would be torn between a drag car and a Grabber street version. Can I assume this is a Johan?

I guess I will hang in there a few more months. I placed an order in March so I guess that is not unusual under normal circumstances. Let's hope this turns out well and he gets back on his feet.

The 67 convertible is a fairly rare kit. Nice score if you picked that up. It's not the most accurate kits but it's not bad. As for the decals - all the reissues of that kit should have them. Old decals can be a problem. Nice job on the gold paint. I built that kit about 40 years ago in that color.

Very nice work. Can you tell us which kit the Daytona Coupe is?
-
Testors has that color (beige) in spray cans.

Gold is indeed a tough color indeed. If you used Testors you might try Tamiya so it does not have the elmers and macaroni gold look we all remember as kids.

Count me in for two sets for sure.

On a related note here is an oldie but goodie. AMT 1/43 GT40 that I got on Ebay for $5. I have been lookin for one for a very long time. The box is very rare and was not included.

Great Scott tha is cool.

Any chance you wil do decals of Sam Auxier's prostock Mustangs? I do not think anyone has ever made them.

Here is the old Aurora kit. It is far from perfect but at least ii better than the slot car based one.. The side windows look wonky.

No matter what your interests are the techniques are applicable to almost any build regardless of the make of model of car, truck or motorcycle. Looks like a nice kit and you did a great job. My first car was a 67 Buick Special.

I'll probably modify the lights but due to the simple nature and lack of detail of this kit it will be a long time before it sees the workbench. Perhaps the front end was going to be the X-1 style but with some slot cars as you know it was more about fitting the chassis and accuracy took a back seat.

I still have thei kit new in the box (opened but not started). I guess I am a little behind on my builds.
