  1. Thanks. It was a fun fairly quick build that has some paint flaws but since it's a old cop car it should not look like a new car. I made the gold grille emblem from the front part of an alternator.
  2. This one is almost done. I need the gumball light, hood twist lock declas and to add some Mustang scripts. I used engine parts from the kit along with some non Boss 429 parts to make it resemble the real car that used for police duty in Japan. I may some police equipment to the interior too. The graphics are hand painted.
  3. Very nice. Those decals look much better than the very yellow kit ones. I've built the Foldger's one and I remember it fit together pretty well.
  4. Technically not a Mach1 but here is a teaser of on almost done. The other one I am hoping to finish is painted and here is the front and back. The Cobra II will be next for the Iacocca build.
  5. Yes - one would have to build one a week for ten years. While that's possible I suppose, it's not too realistic. I only started collecting four types of specific cars (Mustangs, ForD GT's, Pantera's and Cobras) but over the years it's grown to 400 or so with only 1/4 of that built which for my age (60) maybe that's not so bad. I'm one of the few that see the name Modehaus and shrugs as they neve sold anything that I collected. I know, weird but to each his own. As for resin and more expensive kits, I tend to built them before the rull of the mill stuff to justify the expense versus having a lot of money laying around in the form of unbuilt kits.
  6. I would agree as well. I think they differently look different depending on the color.
  7. Oh yeah.
  8. I think technically that was the 65 only wheel made by Cragar and the ten spokes were an option for 66 along with the Hertz Magnum 500's. I don't think you will get dinged by anyone for doing a wheel swap.
  9. Either the Monogram or Fred Cady ones should work.
  10. Did someone say Thunder Valley? Nice job Gramps. I added some Fujumi and HRM parts and junked the TV kit engine.
  11. Nice to see some models with some road wear and not always shiny ann new. Nice save.
  12. Buried under all those "snakes" it is hard to tell.
  13. It's been a year since anyone posted on this thread. Did anyone build the kits mentioned. I did finish a Testors MKIV a few years ago. The 1/43 diecast is made by IXO. I should have paid close attention to where the side marker lights were. They need to be repositioned so they do not interfere with the gum balls.
  14. Looks low and mean in a solid dark color. Nice work.
  15. Sounds like fun. The display only idea isn't original but it's a start. I've only been to local IPMS events and of course they are dominated by armor, planes, ships and figures and the quality of the entries is usually top notch. I do wish they would bring the National to the DC area one year. It would be a natural to have it at the Air & Space museum in Chantilly VA.
  16. It's looking fantastic. I built the Folger's one box stock 30 years and still have it.
  17. Super nice. Any engine pics?
  18. Got some nice photoetch in the mail today from a Ebay seller. Lot's of tiny pieces that could do a dozen models or more.
  19. I know Brad from HRM cast them when he did the convertible transkit. I recall other mentioning they came in various kits since it was a generic wheel cover that Shelby put a center cap on. I'd have to agree on the color choice too.
  20. Very nice. I like the stock hubcaps too.
  21. Very nice how you blended the modern interior and engine with the 67 body.
  22. I'm surprised Hobby stores have held on this long with stores like Michael's Hobby Lobby, etc having much better overall profit margins and probably do not compete as much with on-line sellers since they offer so many other things to a mostly female customer base. If there is one thing that has gotten better with the hobby is the ability to communicate with enthusiasts and to go to events that just did not exist 40 years ago. I guess as long as there is demand kits will still be made but it is a hassle to order on-line for just a few things and then have to pay shipping so that one can do spray paint will end up costing $10.
  23. Good observaition. It would be odd the spare would be different but for a real car not that surprising. It is a beautiful build and kit. I did think it was black until I saw the close ups.
