Every time I take a picture of my finished models I see things I missed with the naked eye so it's not a bad thing. ?
-
My guess would be the detail black from the doors gaps which should wipe off with a little bit of wax.

The wood trim looks very realistic in the interior and the decals are nicely done. ?. Two thumps up.

Pictures of the 69 kit the red one was built from. You can see where the same racing parts carried over from this version.

I found it at the NNL East show this year (or maybe it was last year) for $40. I jumped on it since you rarely see this kit at shows and the Ebay prices can get pretty ridiculous.

All the praises will be deserved. Very nice on both examples. Perhaps a grabber blue or green one is next. ?

Here's the box for those that have never seen the kit. The top was not included but it's not very accurate anyway. Too bad we'll never see these kits ever again.

Started as a partial glue bomb (chassis, exhuast, rear end and interior were already glued together) but it didn't slow the build down any. The chrome on the bumpers is faded and I left some of the interior unpainted to show off that lovely green molded plastic. I still need to do some detailing underneath and maybe add some decals under the hood. Any comments are welcome.

Like any hobby there is only so much time and talent to go around, hence you have beginners and pros posting pictures and we tend to hold them to same standard. Having said that I think anyone learning can see the things that can a model better (more realistic) with some simple techniques or detail painting and can pick up ideas just by looking at the higher quality builds we see here. Whether they choose to try to "improve" or not is really up to the individual. As for a "contest" magazine worthy model being featured, even a box stock build can be noticed (and pictured) if it is a kit you almost never see buildt and it is cleanly done.

Been stalled on the Mustang II Mach1 but I did almost finish a few others (non Mach1's so at least I go somet Mustangs done. I guess we have about a week left so there is still time to get the II done. The green 70 needs the underside painted and the 73 needs an engine and exhaust system.

Looks like you hit the jackpot with that one.

AMT 1966 Ford Mustang Hood?
vamach1 replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Good to know it's not easy as I thought. I wonder if the opposite is true because the Mach1 show car used the 66 style chassis. -
AMT 1966 Ford Mustang Hood?
vamach1 replied to STYRENE-SURFER's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Not sure about hte first question. See the picture. The 65/66 chassis is molder in so the 68 Shelby GT500 is a better choice since it has a separate exhaust system and front roll bar and rearend. I have not tried the conversion but it should be pretty easy. -

Very nice paint, decals and detailing. Maybe you can find Pam to pose with it. ?

One of the best MOPAR designs. I was never a fan of the larger cars that looked something you father would drive.

Nice Save. Do you have decals for the hood scoop? Maybe 400 or 455? I'm a Ford guy.

Enzo would be proud. Magnifico.
