  1. Brings back memories. I had a 69 GTS with a 440 for about a year in the 70's.
  2. Would not be complete without Mega Fox figure.
  3. I found this in one of my old model boxes. Some guy name Ken ?sold these long ago. Does anyone remember these?
  4. That engine Fits great in the 1/16 1968 Shelby by Nichimo. The kit engine is awful.

    MY Mach1

Here's a picture of one of my oldest builds (40 years old?). As you can see time has not been kind and it's disassembled and the decals are flaking off. But, despite the bad art work on the box (which shows hte stripe about the same width the length of the body, the kit decal is a very good match to the real thing. The part below the reflector is spot on. So, leave it to the Japanese to make the best representation of the side stripe on a kit with opening doors but without an opening hood and hence no engine. It's a motorized kit I guess that is to be expected. Another cool feature of this kit (which I think is really about 1/23) is separate orange and red lenses (which fell out) for the side reflectors. This is not a detail you woul expect is this scale. I added some more pictures. One is the same kit but from my display case. The 2nd one is also a Japanese brand but about 1/28 scale. The decals on both are from the kits and very accurate.
  6. If they win tonight Houston is toast. 2-2 tie for now.
  7. You're right. If I wanted five different sheets I'd give him a few alternates if case one or two was sold out. Not a big risk here and the turnaround time should be a week, not two years.

    MY Mach1

I like the side stripes as they taper towards the back. For some reason almost every decal I've seen continues the front part of the stripe to the area where it should be painted black just like the rest of the bottom of the car. Here's an original set of decals and my Mach1.
  9. Here's a picture of an original MPC decal sheet and Keith Marks sheet. The good part is the MPC stripes tapes to be much narrower toward the rear of the car. The front fender portion on the sheeet extends too far down to the bottom of the car but that can be easily fixed by just cutting the decal in sections since it splits in half when the reflector is. The Keith Marks sheet seems to do the best job in replicating the correct stripe width. This sheet also includes the 73 stripes and trunk decal but not the 71/72 trunk decal or Mach1 decal for the fenders and trunk which is available on another sheet (in black or silver). I hope this helps if anyone if they are considering building a 71 Boss or 72 Mach1 or 73 Mach1.
  10. First World Series in DC this weekend in 86 years. It''s been a few good years with the first Stanley cup for DC and now the Nats are four wins away from a championship.
  11. I was not sure. I've seen at least one real Boss 429 that color. It probably wasn't a big seller.
  12. He probably takes those things called personal checks. ?
  13. Thanks for posting. I probably have his old catalogs from the 90's.
  14. The red interior is done. Now to concentrate on the exhaust system, an engine (429) add decals.
  15. Most I've seen in person were a grabber color. I cannot tell if this is the pale blue or grey. It's a nice build nonetheless. It's a shame MPC did not tool up a nice 429 CJ or SCJ but I suspect the race car had a Boss 429 which was the whole point of putting them in the 69 and 70 Mustangs. The Boss and the 429 CJ and SCJ had such a short life due to the ending of the 60's muscle car wars.
  16. This build has exposed a big flaw in the AMT and MPC kits. The front reflector is too far forward. Not a big deal if the stripes are not put on the build. But, using the decals from Rays or Marks or Cady is going to bring attention to this unfortunate mold error. I've attached some picture to show what I'm pointing out. The MPC is closer to being correct. This is by all mean not a criticism of this very nice build. Also, with respect to those three decal makers, I think the decals are too wide towards the back of the car. The decal on a real Boss or Mach1 tapers to a much narrower width than towards the front. The green car has a reflector "decal" over the molded in area that would normally be painted by the builder. The last picture is of a body I painted yellow and looking back now I see it does not have front or rear reflectors. That solves the problem with the decal alignment issue.
  17. Quick question. Are the guages painted or is it a decal or paper cut out?
  18. Same here. We can bring our finished Trumpeter kits to NNL east in 2025. ?. Of course yours will be super detailed and mine will be mostly box stock. Let's get cracking - we only have five years to go. ?. Also looking forward to the move Ford v. Ferrari next month. As for MENG kit - the pre-colored edition sounds interesting as I've only painted something that big a few times and the results were mediocre but that was many years ago. It's probaby why Iwent through a phase of building a lot of 1/43 kits.
  19. Great job by adding the extras like the ram air setup which was never available in a kit. I've been adding the side mirrors to all the 71-73 bodies I've painted and am slowly finishing one at a time. A Boss or two is of course of my list. I've used Keith Marks and Fred Cady decals and plan to use a SMBC Cleveland engine. The paint on yours looks real nice - I'll have to order some. If you plan to do any more PM me as I have some unique parts for these year Mustangs including a slew of front and rear spoilers.
  20. Is this for real? Interesting they would do another Mark II with the Trumpeter kit being re-released. Hopefully this one is better.
  21. Super nice paint and nice interior detail. Some black wash in the grille and wheels and she will look even better. I like the clean look of not having the upper and lower scoops too.
  22. Very cool combination of two Fords. I might be tougher to use the Cobra body with the A chassis.
