  1. Great pictures. Anyone get any close ups of this build?
  2. Saw this one on Facebook by a Japanese builder. He corrected the hood and reshaped the front end and replaced the grill with mesh screen.
  3. If anyone is looking for J car decals I saw these on Ebay.
  4. Yes but that's a moot point since no one is left from those teams. I went to some Senators games as a kid at RFK stadium before they moved to Texas. The NATS are DC's team now and it was exciting to see them win all four games in Houston to take the title.
  5. As you can see from these builds (some up to 30 years old) there are a lot of options for the engine compartment from resin parts to bodies to parts from the AMT 67GT350 kit. You'll notice the grille opening is body color and only the grille and trim should be chrome. Looking at my older builds I would have added more parts but there was only a limited amount of resin parts available back in the old days. I apologize if I have hacked the thread but I enjoy this site very much and try to pass on some tips and I learn so much from others builds.
  6. I thought the same thing.
  7. Very nice stang and amazing paint. ? I wish AMT had figured out another way for the rear panel to attach to the rear quarters. A little better engineering would result in not having the large seam under the end caps. I went back to look at my builds and it must have annoyed me so much that I "fixed" the gap.
  8. Yes this kit is still around since AMT never bothered to convert the 67 GT350 to a 67 or 68 GT500 for some strange reason. I guess someone would ask them if people still buy this 50 year old kit why make a new one. Anyway, you did some great mods, especially the exhaust system and door handles. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see under the hood. When I've built this kit I always end up bending the front bumper ends down as they seem to want curl up. Very nice work indeed. I also like that you cut the stripe at the doors versus one continuous decal.
  9. Slow progress but I like these mufflers a lor more than the incorrect cherry bomb kit resonators. On to the engine.
  10. Looking more and more like Game 7 and let the best visiting team win. Strausburg is a beast and we've got Max on deck assuming they can hold the 5-2 lead with only three outs to go.
  11. You're welcome. Glad to help out. Vamach1
  12. Brings back memories. I had a 69 GTS with a 440 for about a year in the 70's.
  13. Would not be complete without Mega Fox figure.
  14. I found this in one of my old model boxes. Some guy name Ken ?sold these long ago. Does anyone remember these?
  15. That engine Fits great in the 1/16 1968 Shelby by Nichimo. The kit engine is awful.

    MY Mach1

Here's a picture of one of my oldest builds (40 years old?). As you can see time has not been kind and it's disassembled and the decals are flaking off. But, despite the bad art work on the box (which shows hte stripe about the same width the length of the body, the kit decal is a very good match to the real thing. The part below the reflector is spot on. So, leave it to the Japanese to make the best representation of the side stripe on a kit with opening doors but without an opening hood and hence no engine. It's a motorized kit I guess that is to be expected. Another cool feature of this kit (which I think is really about 1/23) is separate orange and red lenses (which fell out) for the side reflectors. This is not a detail you woul expect is this scale. I added some more pictures. One is the same kit but from my display case. The 2nd one is also a Japanese brand but about 1/28 scale. The decals on both are from the kits and very accurate.
  17. If they win tonight Houston is toast. 2-2 tie for now.
  18. You're right. If I wanted five different sheets I'd give him a few alternates if case one or two was sold out. Not a big risk here and the turnaround time should be a week, not two years.

    MY Mach1

I like the side stripes as they taper towards the back. For some reason almost every decal I've seen continues the front part of the stripe to the area where it should be painted black just like the rest of the bottom of the car. Here's an original set of decals and my Mach1.
  20. Here's a picture of an original MPC decal sheet and Keith Marks sheet. The good part is the MPC stripes tapes to be much narrower toward the rear of the car. The front fender portion on the sheeet extends too far down to the bottom of the car but that can be easily fixed by just cutting the decal in sections since it splits in half when the reflector is. The Keith Marks sheet seems to do the best job in replicating the correct stripe width. This sheet also includes the 73 stripes and trunk decal but not the 71/72 trunk decal or Mach1 decal for the fenders and trunk which is available on another sheet (in black or silver). I hope this helps if anyone if they are considering building a 71 Boss or 72 Mach1 or 73 Mach1.
  21. First World Series in DC this weekend in 86 years. It''s been a few good years with the first Stanley cup for DC and now the Nats are four wins away from a championship.
  22. I was not sure. I've seen at least one real Boss 429 that color. It probably wasn't a big seller.
