I recognize at least three Halmark Mustangs in the front. I have the Batmobile that plays the tv show theme.

VRM 427 Cobra decals - will we ever see them?
vamach1 replied to vamach1's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
I get that there are up front costs and I'm not sure if other decals have been released by V-R-M but this set only had a minor mixup from what I've heard but that was a long time ago so it's just a bit frustrating. I also get that the copy cats take away business but at least people on this board are a tad smarter and can tell originals from the shady sellers on Ebay. BTW - thank you for what you do without any fanfare and positive feedback ratings. The best things are not always the easiest to find but I think everyone on the board is glad you make great products. -
Wow. I asssume this only happens to some cars that maybe had a bad batch of metal or bad paint prep. At least I hope so given the number of 1/18 and 1/24 diecast I have in my collection.

Cool idea. AMT recognized the old down seat so they had that option in the older 68 Shelby and later 67 Shelby kits.

Bullitt Mustang On Auction Block
vamach1 replied to TooOld's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Here is the same car back in September in Fredericksburg VA. Note the lack of any real enclosure to keep people away. I bet a lot of wives of Mustang enthusiasts that visited the free show (for spectators) looked at heir husbands like they were insane when they heard it was worth more than about forty of the best restored and most desreable rare Mustangs in the show. ?. I know it's a sexist comment but I did not know how else to get the point across. -
Here's the Testors kit in yellow (box stock) next to the same kit I converted to a 73 Japanese police car earlier this year.

Bullitt Mustang On Auction Block
vamach1 replied to TooOld's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That was until he realized he would become an instant millionaire. ? I have seen the car a few times. If it was not used in the movie it would be worth about $20K. -
Very nice work. The wood grain looks very realistic and you might be on to something with the guages.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

Anyone have any idea if the Miles figure in the 427 Cobra kit would fit in the Fujumi Mark II? He would be facing towards the passenger seat.
-
Glad to hear he is on the road to recovery. I had a order pending and was issued a refund. I would place an order again once he is back in business but he has more important things on his mind so waiting six more months would not be any big deal in the grand scheme of things.

Suitable kits for 'Ford vs. Ferrari' film
vamach1 replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Great idea Gary. I have he decals for the Fujumi kit but this would be a quick "build" to recreat the Mark II that is in the Simeone museum.- 13 replies

Ford vs. Ferrari Film
vamach1 replied to Richard Bartrop's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Good eye on the models. I did not catch that. -
I think you nailed it, especially the color. Great job.

What Gramps said. Yes it's an old Mini Exotics resin body from the 1990s by Gerry Chevalier.

Very nice builds and always a popular choice.. Does anyone know what type of car I'm standing next to? An old Rolls or Bentley maybe.

Ford vs. Ferrari Film

They have enough parts so it does not look engineless but it's a far cry from a complete motor. HRM makes a small block for the Mark I versions. -

The excitement will die down once Star Wars comes out. What I hope it generates is more 1/24 diecast versions. Although I'd ove to see the Fujumi kits include an engine I will no hold my breath but whoever has the molds for the WIX car needs to jump on the bandwagon and do all eight MKII from Lemans. I would expect the differences in the cars to be recreated but just having them painted in the correct color and marking would be fantastic and not that hard. I guess it boils down to licensing. The market for the 1/87 resin models (Spark in one company) is strong and the 1/12 MENG kit should be a hit if it's better than the Trumpeter kit. Anyway, I snagged n MPC J-car off Ebay before the movie came out at a pretty good price. If you're patient some deals can be found out there. -
It's only been about six weeks. I have taken much longer breaks - life just happens sometimes.

Welcome Nazz. What is great about this forum is there are builders from all over the world. Some people avoid Facebook which is okay for posting of builds but this site is where you can ask specific questions and get GOOD advice and not a bunch of crazy comments. Feel free to post pictures of older builds. When I see something on the bench or under glass that I've build I sometimes post a picture of the same kit I built 5-30 years ago,. It's a two way street as far as learning from each other as you probably already know.

Yes - good question. She has visited recently but she has not posted since October 20th. She built more models in 6 months than I have in five years. I hope she is okay and posts again soon. She brought great enthusiasm to our plastic playground and we need more of the younger generation to understand our love for building models and to keep the hobby going when we are being spoon fed thinking about the good old days.
