  1. Thanks,. These wheels were a pain in the butt to paint too.
  2. I cannot believe I used the kit plug wires. What was I thinking. ?. Here's the one i built in the 90's.
  3. You did a great job with a bad kit. You did not mention the backwards windshield wipers either. I built one and that was one too many. I've never seen anyone cut the roof off this kit but it might be an improvement.
  4. Thtat's good. I'm still plugging away on the "II" but am waiting for a few more parts to arrive to build it factory stock. Since this is extended I also should knock out some others since I still have a bunch of bodies already painted.
  5. Very nice restomod although I think it has too many mufflers.?
  6. Are these 1/43 scale? ?. I remembered a wrecker and a few others that scale that were pretty cool. 1/24 or 1/25 just seems to dang big to me (for a truck or trailer). I guess not having a scale bias makes me weird.?
  7. Welcome. Spend at least as much time building as you do on the forum. ?
  8. Fantastic looking build. I can only imagine the possibilities if Tamiya did kits of older american cars.
  9. Some of the pages of the catalog that year.
  10. Cool. Thanks. Picture from Facebook.
  11. That's a much improved chassis for the old promo based 55 year old kit.
  12. I love factory stock Mustangs and your model. Did you use the old Testors spray can (which is obsolete) or another brand using perhaps an airbrush? I always thought it was strange Ford picked a dark metallic color as one of four colors for 69 Boss 302's since while it is beautiful it just does not "pop" like the grabber yellow and orange do.
  13. Every time I take a picture of my finished models I see things I missed with the naked eye so it's not a bad thing. ?
  14. My guess would be the detail black from the doors gaps which should wipe off with a little bit of wax.
  15. I see no problem. I'd also see no problem having resin copies made of the converted body either. ?. Whoever worked on the original molds is probably long gone. Built whatever floats your boat.
  16. The wood trim looks very realistic in the interior and the decals are nicely done. ?. Two thumps up.
  17. Thanks. I did some painting on the underside. Not easy since everything was already glued together.
  18. Pictures of the 69 kit the red one was built from. You can see where the same racing parts carried over from this version.
  19. I found it at the NNL East show this year (or maybe it was last year) for $40. I jumped on it since you rarely see this kit at shows and the Ebay prices can get pretty ridiculous.
  20. All the praises will be deserved. Very nice on both examples. Perhaps a grabber blue or green one is next. ?
  21. Here's the box for those that have never seen the kit. The top was not included but it's not very accurate anyway. Too bad we'll never see these kits ever again.
  22. Very nice rides. I went to one nearby two years ago but the tour skipped the DC area this year.
  23. Agree 100%. I went last year and it was actually chilly but seeing the cars drive through town and on the track and in the pits was great.
