  1. One down three to go (blue, white, yellow). It turned out very nice.
  2. Very retro. I wonder if it could be combined with one of the SVO kits or Pace cars.
  3. Yes we all have models we built years ago and could use some freshening up. When I build the 200 or so unbuilt ones I have I will get to those older builds which by then may be 40+ years old.
  4. Yes - that would work quite well but I would be happy with about 30 mufflers. I may get Brad from HRM to do them.
  5. Looks all shined up fo a show. Maybe a air cleaner and caution fan decal to add some color to the engine compartment along with picking out the tops of the shocks (Koni red/orange) and I think the tail lights have a metal trim around them and the gas cap "decal" is gold. I really like the wheels although the 67 style wheels are nice too.
  6. Looks pretty good in pictures for sure. I still have not built a street version as figuring on how to paint it (separate pieces) or partially assembled is where I'm stuck.
  7. I am not much of a book reader (except car stuff) but I read A Higher Call cover to cover and enjoyed it very much. I highly recommend it as well as it gives you a very different perspective about the men who fought on both sides knowing their lives could be taken at any moment by someone not very different from themselves.
  8. Yes - only available in a detuned street version in the 69/70 Boss. Nascar outlawed them and the big wing birds as the cars were easily going over 200 mph at Daytona and Talladega.
  9. I went for a darker shade (painted maybe 10 years ago) so you can tell I did not get very far. You set the bar high but gave me some ideas too.
  10. Sure is. Maybe some sponsor decals would spice it up even more. I'm sure Whoopie Kat has something appropriate.
  11. Curious what the engine looks like? It is a Boss 429 or a 429CJ or neither? It wa pretty common for AMT and MPC to recycle a engine from a previous kit (e.g. 428 from the 68/70 Mustangs) and pretend it's something else.
  12. Too bad it does not come in spray cans.
  13. Hopefullly it will pop off and you can flip it around. I have a 1:1 72 Mach1 that I installed a rear spoiler so it's the first thing I notice on any 69-73 Mustang real or otherwise.
  14. Pinholes are very common in small resin kits. Once you prime it you might find some more. I miss the old PM and Starter kits.
  15. Forgot to mention it is a really nice build too.
  16. The. Front would be more of a challenge but I had a kit Cobra I drove for five years without a front plate and was never pulled over. Withi this version you even have room for two suitcases and a spare tire. There are quite a few Mark I roads cars but I thinks all the Mark II's were built for racing first. Some of the Cobra Daytona Coupes were street legal and driven so anything is possible.
  17. I see these and think man I am about a 3 on a ten scale. Tell your dad they are 10's and most of us are not worthy. Thanks for posting them. I will say this - I have never really tackled a large scale detailed kit so they certainly have an advantage when it come accuracy but it still takes a lot of talent to pull it all together. Bravo.
  18. The hood paint on Mustangs has held me back on some builds. With scoops and bulges and thin stripes and curves it makes it quite a challenge for sure. Rarely can decals handle all the contours and lay down flat. Yes - hats off those those that figure out what works for them.
  19. Love it in black. Very clean. I'm still figuring out to paint all the separate body pieces but somehow make them look like one when glued together.
  20. Just remember the Boss has the scoops filled in behind the doors and the Mach1 has the fake scoops.
  21. Any leads would be appreciated. It drives me nuts both the MPC and AMT 71-73 Mustangs both have resonators or the cherry bomb type mufflers instead of true dual exhaust oval mufflers. With at least a dozen versions I'm building I need a lot of mufflers that appear close to the ones in the picture.
  22. Very nice detailing. FYI on the rear spoiler. Don't worry - I have seen real cars with the same issue.
  23. . Fantastic looking build.
