The new Revell 007 kit? It’s only been out a week or two. The AMT rehashed Round2 kit has been out about a year.

Brand new tooling. 1000% better than the Old AMT and MPC kits that have been reissued dozens of times.

Got a pretty good start on this Revell of Germany kit. I plan to make a few changes to make it more like the movie car.

That is a 73 Mach1. Keith Marks and Rays kit makes the silver decals for a 73 Mach1. The Rays kits decals are shown. The glare was making it tough to get a picture. You can either use the MPC kit which has the 73 grille and bumper or combine those parts with the much superior Revell kit. The Revell Boss 351 kit has a very nice Cleveland engine but for a stock 351 CJ you would have to source some stock 351C valve covers.

The Boss kit has the hockey stick stripes same as the Mach1 (in black) but not the Mach1 hood decal/template as the Bond car was a non ram-air car hence the lack of the hood twist locks and black or silver hood paint scheme. Oddly enough all the 71-72 Mach1’s had the stripe decal on the back of the car in either black or silver. The side stripes were optional.

Have to agree those front and rear fenders are hideous. Looks like it is next to some nice cars too. I have seen a good amount of stock and tastefully modified Panteras in South Florida.

Very nice build. My 2nd car was a 69 GTS 440 Magnum Dart with an automatic shift on the column. That was almost 50 years ago.?

Very nice. I wonder if the reissue will drop the $200 asking prices of the vintage kits. I’ll buy one just to get the fresh stock 70 body to build a Mach1 351 or 428 using parts from some glue bombs I have.

They sold the kit so what do they care. It’s one reason I always buy glue bombs of rare kit when I can because collector prices for sealed or unbuilt kits can be ridiculous.

Amazing work with all the changes you did to make it more realistic. I guess the company sees these as not a typical model where the builder will just assemble what is shipped each month and would not notice the lack of parts we take for granted in large scale kits from Japan. The larger the scale the more noticeable things we know should be there that are not included. It seems like the marketing and overall look and ease of assembly was the priority and they did not seem to have any problem selling them.

It looks like it was freshly built. Nice work restoring it for your friend.

One thing I notice on a lot of model builds of the 68GT500 is that they way the grill and bumper are molded as one piece many builders forget the inside of the “grille” part of the AMT kit should be body color.. I over looked this detail on the first two or three builds I did.

I have some catching up to do with Gary I only have sixteen MKI, MKII and MkIVs built.

Saw the at the Mecum auction Saturday.

Building one was enough for me.

Gerry Chevalier makes the CS body for the AMT fastback/Shelby.

I have built the 68 Shelby convertible transkit that Historic Racing Minatures made that used the chassis parts from the newer AMT 67 GT350 kit. The big block engine should fit okay.

That is quite an accomplishment. I’m retired and cannot seem to finish 3-4 a year.

I hope so. ? Funny thing is if I had a Aussie Falcon Cobra that raced at Bathurst the racing enthusiasts would be drooling all over it. I like showing my car that many car relate to as just about everyone has or knows someone that owned a 65-73 Mustang. When someone asks questions about my car they realize it was not just an old car I bought 42 years ago but that it has hundreds of miles of track time from Connecticut down to Homestead Florida and just about every road course in between on the east coast.

He was pretty busy all day. ? It was the Key Biscayne show that they barely advertise and I had to dig deep to find the date and then the website to display my car. Last year the show was in October and this year it was supposed to be two days but they only salvaged one day of good weather.

Andrew, Did you go to the Key Biscayne show on Sunday. There was some cool stuff there. Somehow they let me sneak the Mach1 in next to a Lambo. While waiting to be parked I was behind a BMW M1.

Gold or white. I had to double up the decals when I used them on a darker color.
