Very Nice! These were a good simple kit to build, that looks great when finished. This was the first kit I tried to build when I started building car models 23yrs ago.

What Are Some of Your Favourite Kits That You Built?
Hard_2_Handle_454 replied to Falcon Ranchero's topic in Model Cars
I think I had to play with the white wall inserts a bit (the other kit doesn't have them). I want to say they snapped in. Normally if I have trouble with tires and rims; I set it in a bit. Then, I get a knife and and try to go around the tire and rim (kind of how the machine does it when you get tires). And, I'll also set it on the table and push hard on the tire as well. I've had to do that on a couple recent models, but I don't remember which ones. What you're talking about with the plated pieces could be part of the problem too. Right now I don't have a hobby knife (and probably won't use one as my dad once cut himself bad with one wood working) so I use the scissors on a muti-tool to trim the parts. It works OK for the most part. I get resourceful from time to time. I even fabricate parts if need be. -

What Are Some of Your Favourite Kits That You Built?

I've got two. They both went together pretty well. I don't remember any trouble with either kit. One was from the early 2000's run with the custom wheels. I did the other paint scheme. This blue one is from the newest release a couple years ago. I found it to be a great kit. I went together pretty nice, with no problems from what I remember. I picked most of these kits because they came out great and I had few problems building them. I think the ones that were the most trouble were probably the foreign kits. They can be a little challenging and require some tools/paint most US kits don't. It was pretty hard not to post more builds. I have quite the collection numbering into the hundreds now. Looking at my album it's hard to believe I started it almost 10rs ago, and I had more kits built before that going back another 12yrs just in cars! -

I know it's quite a lot, but I think these were some of the better kits. They were easily put together and came out great. These were a pleasure to build and you can also see my skills improving with time. This also puts some kits out there that haven't been seen for awhile. People can enjoy them, get some ideas for some builds, or just know that these kits exist. Looks great. Been thinking about getting one of these.

Regular Testor's red. Only thing HL sells anymore. I really wish they still had the Hobby Master paints. Those lasted longer and looked better.

Interesting. Their way of installing them in the kit wasn't working for me, so I just placed it on the outside. Plus the way they designed the slats made it look like they were for the outside anyway.

Yeah, it does suck that they don't have better ordering options. They are quite pricey on eBay, and the actual site doesn't even have pricing unless you sign up as a customer. But, they are small in scale when it comes to production, so they have to charge a premium to make some money.

Since the DDA kits came out I've been wanting to pick this one up. I'm not one to be into 4-door cars, but this one has kinda grown on me. Plus, it's a very notable car in automotive history; so I wanted it for the collection. The kit itself is very much like the Torana kit. It comes with a nice collector's box, tools, screws, rubber wires, and decals. The only downside in my mind is the lack of plated parts. The kit builds quite easily and has a really great instruction manual. A lot of the kit is snap-tite almost, but there's still quite a lot of gluing. Some super glue is also recommended for the wiring. The hood, like on all shaker hoods, has some fit issues and didn't want to be even on one side. Ended up having to glue it down. Also had a little trouble with the chin spoiler. It didn't want to sit on one side or the other. Ended up super gluing it down. One weird thing was the window slats being put inside the car. I ignored that and placed them on the outside. On a funny note, I accidentally tossed the wipers in the trash and had to dig one out. The other mysteriously appeared on my bathroom floor later that evening. Over all though, great kit. They actually come with the kit which surprised me too.

Beautiful. I wouldn't mind getting another one of these myself.

Beautiful. This was always one of my favorite models in my collection. They did an amazing job in making this kit.
