I've never heard any ground troops that did not love the A10. Why it was even considered for retirement is beyond me. The Zumwalt Class, amazing the small amount of crew. Seems like to would just dig into the waves, but for sure its a solid design.

Yep JC, I remember the movie, haven't seen it again in modern times. I watched recently a similar movie, WW2 British and GI's under Jap torture in a prison camp. I think Kiefer Sutherland was the star if I remember, a good movie.

Dang cheats. The wife has a parking lot mishap running, luckily she has a witness. I have to admit, this morning heading downtown on my Vespa, still a strictly residential area, a big city cabover and I meet at a small intersection. I had the right of way, but afterward I realize I should have waved him through. He stopped late, and I had to make a sharp maneuver to get around the big truck. I thought immediately, not good, I could have let him go through. He's big and I'm small and agile. No skin off my nose to let the other guy in, I can get ahead of him at the next light.

1/12 Camaro Radial Tire - Chassis & Rear Suspension6-22-17
10thumbs replied to John Clutch's topic in WIP: Drag Racing Models
Real decent looking metal work John. Hey, I just had a grin. On a German forum recently, the first time I ever heard of shrink tubing. Great idea, looks really good there on your motor. Nice work. -
Bill, man I have news for you. A "10 day driving trip". OK. Is your wallet in your rear pocket? Yes? Think about it. You're sitting intensively lop sided, and your muscles aren't those you had 20 years ago. Been there. I needed help to get on the x-ray table a while back. The doc lady (insanely beautiful), says to me....so young man (laugh), get rid of that fat wallet, place it in your jacket, just stop sitting on it. That's what is causing your current pain. She was right. It went away after a couple of days. Never had it in a back pocket since then, no more of those problems. Just saying.
-
What John wrote is a good point of view, also Ray, your tire line is a great way to check things out. Good method.

Bill, back problems, especially those at our age are very common and my experience is also fairly quickly diagnosed. Just, the pain stays with you a while and that stinks. I've had back surgery, luckily immediate relief and only a band aid was used to cover the small incision. Meanwhile though, both the wife and I have issues that come under the rubric, age. She about crawled this week to the orthopedic babe that we both visit regularly. Other than arthritis and rheumatism, nothing else new....except the prescription. Pain sucks. Increasing immobility too.

El Cheapo modelling machinery
10thumbs replied to Davoski's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
David, I say as well, better to stay away from it. That machine offers a lot of functions, it just can't be that the whole deal is worth it. Real quality machines cost that much at least, in each of the single functions. Consider exactly what you need for now, then please buy quality, even if used, good machines can be had for not much money. -

A very clean build and nice lighting for the pics too. Also, pics taken on the bed of a truck is unique, good idea. -
Got a story to tell about real dumb car driver moves? Quite a while back I had a neighbor who drove a big rig for a big company. He was gone about 4 days during the week, and drove the SE Coast and back. A decent guy and we got along well. He didn't drink or get rowdy, but would come over with his wife sometimes on Saturdays when mine and I would grill something. He'd get real out of shape though when we wanted to hear some stories of being on the road....read, dumb car drivers. I heard him say once, "man, you're pushing it down a wide 2 lane and some fool comes out from a side road in front of you, you hit the brakes and pray, only to see the idiot makes an immediate turn off the road at the next crossing. Nothing behind, just him and the fool car driver. "Makes you fart foam rubber". Whatcha got to tell. Do you like driving long hauls among a lot of cars?

Help Request....Custom Trucks
10thumbs replied to 10thumbs's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Terry, funny story about the train horn. I wouldn't want to be that close to one when it sounds off. About drivers still pulling out in front of him....thanks for the reminder, I'd like to start a new topic about similar maneuvers. -
Lots of those series I don't even remember. Something about "The Buccaneers" though rings a bell.

@afx, JC....The Bridge on the River Quai (sp?...I didn't look at the clip). That one is on my Watchlist.

That's a real nice and clean build Ace! Excellent attention to details, looks without flaws to me. Even the side "running lights" look real, don't see them too often.- 55 replies

Hmmm, well actually I'm kind of familiar to what a "mama" is or can be. The lyrics really aren't that difficult to follow. I thought it might be worth a conversation, I guess I was wrong. By the way, I thought this was amusing; Like, a really hot mama is good for r&r, rest and recreation, I know you meant R&B, but still amusing.
-
OK. So what's your opinion of who "momma" is?
-
Congrats on the new bench area. Hey, I can smell the freshly cut new wood way over here! Good stuff Ray.
-
I was having a conversation with the wife about the lyrics on this one. Who is he referring to as "that's alright Mama"? His real momma, or the the hot momma he's having to deal with with? Here a link to refresh the memory; Whatcha' think?

Guys, I think Carl is asking from his list, not others.

Rich, the interior detailing looks great! The seats are not smooth plastic but have a real and live structure, something that you can touch and see. When sunlight hits it looks different than just styrene, compliments.. The dash is stunning, my opinion. Looks like a real metal surface with real gauges built in. I like it, great work bud. Looking forward to more on this project. -

Clayton, you were the one that got me on to the train horns on u tube! Guys, I'm an older type dude but that junk cracks me up! -
Hey great, I had balloon tires on my beach bike back before skateboards were popular.

Carl, I'll give my vote to 1, 2 and 9, any order. My opinion is, the others are just character types only, without depth. Steve was super cool, but had lesser variances in type. Maybe 9 as the greatest actor, then the other two to be more exact.
