  1. Or high-helix superchargers, like PSI's. Those cases are huge!
  2. Thank you, so much, Pierre. I appreciate that! I kind of feel like we really can't have a large enough variety of metal finishes!? I should be wrapping this up, within the next week, or so! That is pretty exciting!
  3. That looks friggin' awesome!
  4. Seven years ago (before we knew there would be an new issue) I paid $180 for an unbuilt CO4070A! It's in beautiful condition, with all the inserts and the parts all on the trees. It's a sentimental thing, as I bought an original issue, when they were first released.
  5. Really nice work with the front suspension!
  6. @dave bransonThe AMX looks great! I picked up one of the later Seville promos of one of them. Recently, I ran across a deal I couldn't pass up on one of the Shahan kits. I'm watching Hornets--I really want to pick up one of those. You have some pretty cool stuff, there!
  7. Other than a couple of minor things, the blower restraint system is complete. I want to tone the straps down, a tad, and add a couple of little details. Once those are done, I'll be on to the fuel lines and distribution block for the hat...wow. ?
  8. Indeed, it does! I should get the plate mounted, tonight, once the lower section of straps is attached to the brackets on the header flanges. I am really happy with this thing, Francis!
  9. This is such a cool project, Jim! I haven't dived into trying this with any seriousness, but Dave Abell was a local guy, here in the Denver area. He built this bulldozer in 1989, or so--this photo is the only one I have of it. He did all the hard-facing on the blade assembly (you can see the welds on the arm) dabbing Floquil paint with a tiny brush. I can't imagine how long that must have taken! Obviously, Floquil paint is no longer made, and I am not sure of an equivalent there is, now. It was lacquer, which I think would be important, because of the rate at which it dries. The finish on this thing was unbelievably realistic. I think he may have rubbed some metal powders into it, as well. Unfortunately, he's been gone for a number of years, so there's no way to pick his brain about it. Since you're doing a natural metal finish, I thought you might find some interest in it.
  10. Interestingly, I have seen them a few times on Ebay (USA) in the past couple of years, for what I thought were fairly reasonable prices, considering its short production life.
  11. I got the blower finished and installed. I ended up milling a new blower restraint plate. The one I had (aftermarket photoetch) was too narrow, and too short. I believe it was produced prior to bags being required, so it didn't allow for the added girth of the bag. So, I fixed that. Next will be getting the plate mounted and the straps hooked up (a little more visual research, first). It gets a little closer, every day! Thanks for looking!
  12. What about cutting panels for the recessed areas, and bare metal on the ribs? I might give that a shot, just to see what it would look like.
  13. For sure. As you can see, there's not much left, and some are bent. I wasn't worried too much, about that, being a sort of a touring match racer kind of deal.
  14. I'd agree. It really doesn't seem debatable, either. Starting with that '66 Nova, specifically.
  15. I did this one starting with a Dremel cutter, then a sanding drum, and finally, by hand. It's a tricky one!
  16. That engine compartment is going to be utterly mind-blowing, based on what we're already seeing!
  17. Throttle linkage is sorted. It should be straightforward when it comes time to mate it with the hat's cross-shaft. I have some guitar string that is perfect for return springs. It's some of the smallest wound strings I've seen. The line for the port fuel block is made, and lying on the board, in these photos. I've since installed it to the fuel distribution block. I think that's the last item for the manifold. Next, I'll move on to finishing the blower details, so I can get that installed. Once that's done, I can finish up the hat, a lot of which is obviously done. I'll need to make a distribution block for the hat nozzles, and a restraint system for the hat. It's really getting close to completion, and I'm finding it quite exciting!?
  18. I really like what you're doing, here. Another very cool project from your bench! The panhard bar looks great! That tooling aluminum is fun stuff. You can bead-roll it, and all kinds of interesting things! I used it for the inner door panels and the wheel tubs in my Super Gas Vega. I originally used it to build bodies for two dragsters. I don't recommend it, for that! Both of those were since redone with step flashing. Anyway, sorry to interrupt.?
  19. Great idea with the fixture, Greg!
  20. Test fitting hat attachments with the blower. I need to make an elbow fitting for the port injectors block. The corner's too tight, for just the hose. Shouldn't be a biggie. Also got the new blower bag made. I'll start detailing it, once the elbow is done. It's feeling closer! Thanks for looking!
  21. That Nova is loaded with great parts!
  22. Without question, it would have! ? Thank you for your kind words. I think I have reached the point at which I no longer have a say as to what details I'm adding. The dragster is running the shop!?
