  1. I agree with Bob. I am sure I've seen one. I think maybe from an early MPC stock car, too. Dang it! Now I have to go dig!😄
  2. Almost done! I need to make the pushbars, and print the license plates. Thanks for looking!
  3. I used to use MSC's polshing kit--I'm pretty sure their poliching compound was Novus. Lately, I've been using Wright's Silver Cream. Snake suggested it, and I've found it to be satisfactory. It's fairly inexpensive, as well.
  4. Thank you, sir! I hadn't considered the DB5 similarity, but, I see it now. I got the windshield installed along with the side mirror. It's getting very close! Thanks for your comments!
  5. Seems like it may have been in Rodder's Journal, at one time.
  6. I haven't seen any photos of it, with the body off, that I recall. I can dig around a bit, and see if I can find something from the archives. I always kinda liked this car!
  7. Francis, my friend! Your machine work, as always, is to be greatly admired! Sorry I haven't checked in, for so long. Hope all is well, with you, and you're managing the busy season in good fashion!
  8. I love this project! It's a fact that the vast majority of altereds aren't Nanook, The Mob or The Winged Express, et, al. Very cool!
  9. These all look great, Scott! Bucky's stuff is crazy gorgeous!
  10. Very cool. It'll be nice, to see this one done! Love me some Cheetahs!
  11. Got a few more little things done. I painted the inside windshield trim. Just needs Bare-Metal, now. I got the B/U and turn signal lenses installed, and applied engine deignation decals. I may get my motivation motivated enough to Bare-Metal the windshield frame, before bed.😄Thanks for looking!
  12. I have been wanting to pick up one of the new ones. I haven't looked at one, yet, but it sounds like they're nice.
  13. These look great! I totally apprecite tht you scratch built them. Much respect, for that!
  14. Thank you, Mark! I appreciate that. It does feel like it's a cohesive design, to me. It has some elegance, but it's muscular, I guess, seems like a decent analogy. Thanks, again!
  15. A few further items done: The windshield is finally fitted and ready for paint and Bare-Metal. I cut the roll bars to the proper height. I also cemented in the bezels for the front turn signals, and installed the taillights. I still need to make and install the bezels for the B/U lamps (in the original exhaust openings). It's not too far out, now! Questions, critiques and comments are always welcomed. Thanks for looking!
  16. You're exactly right. One time, same as the CO 4070A, as I recall.
  17. I bought six or seven small cans, about eight years ago. There's one chain of local paint stores that still carry it. When I first bought any, about 40 years ago, it contained lead. I haven't looked at the newer ones, to see if it's gone, or not.
  18. I first bought it for lettering models, but discovered that it's great to shoot.
  19. That's what I painted my Badman with. I mixed a purple from red and blue, cut it with lacquer thinner and shot away! It flows out, so nicely.
  20. Detail Master has nice ones. They're right for the era. If you find the thread for my Junior Fuel dragster, you can see them.
  21. I'm a little surprised someone hasn't done them, yet. That would definitely be the way to go.
  22. And yes, I enjoy scratch building K valves. Does anyone know if there is a resin one available? You do a great job, with them! They are tedious to build, but they're a detail worth doing correctly. I have a mold Don Fahrni and I made forty years ago, or so. It's still viable, but even using nail resin, it sometimes takes a couple of tries to get a good one. It's such a small, detailed cavity, it's difficult to get resin in all the places it needs to be.
