  1. The one I have only has tri-power or a blower
  2. I found this car on google that I would like to use as an inspiration. The Engine is a 455 Pontiac with a 2X4 manifold with cross rams and adapters for 4 Strombergs.I can start with the Parts Pak 421 but I will need a 2X4 manifold, I can probably scratch build the carb adapters. Any suggestions on finding manifold to fit this 421?
  3. Anybody ever try these louvers from Louverit ? https://louverit.com
  4. This will be my first build with opening doors. I will be using the Orange Crate body. Do you paint with the doors on and cut thru the paint to open the door or do you paint with the doors off and then trim down the paint to install the door ?
  5. Thanks for all the advice, got-r-done. I ended up back filling it with my go to putty , Tammiya Extra Thin with styrene melted into it. After a bit of drying time (couple days in the dehydrator) Then carefully filed and sanded smooth on the outside . Now I need to decide whether I am going with the fenders on the body or remove them and go the full fendered route.
  6. Thanks for the recommendation. Your build is great. I really like the way you did the exhaust, very out of the box thinking.
  7. From what I can find there was never a factory Town Car Delivery in 1932, There was some in 1931 and older but in 32 there only seems to be a Town Car. My thoughts are to make one from the new MPC Coca Cola 32 Sedan Delivery kit. Any thought's or suggestions (or opinions) on such an adventure ?
  8. I will be using the Orange Crate Body on another project. Is there any easy way to flatten out the cowl bumps ?
  9. Almost finished the 32 extended cap p/u, just needs exhaust and a radiator hose Getting the paint finished on the Not Too Tall T and going to start on the frame and running gear,
  10. While at the auto parts store picking up some wet sanding paper I ran across this 3M 3000 grit polishing pad. Has anyone any experience using it ?
  11. I have not used baking powder or soda , only baby or body powder with success. I used to mix baby powder with super glue as a filler. I now use flocking powder as it is easier to apply using a small salt shaker and mix styrene with Tamiya extra thin for filler. (also known as "sprue glue") I do use baking powder to clean car batteries LOL
  12. I used baby powder in the past now I use embossing powder. Baby powder is not water-soluble when sealed with paint
  13. this came up on my FB feed . I haven't tried it .I have to find some first
  14. Well Gerry I am thinking about all the Ford GT's. From the first version to the latest version. I have always been a GT fan.
  15. I mostly build Hot Rods and Customs but I have been pondering on building some Ford GT's. Any tips or suggestions on what kits are good would be appreciated. I know the Tamiya kit is supposed to be great, Also is there much in the way of after market parts and detail items available for them. Thanks
  16. I no longer buy the pens, I only buy the refills. I either drop some into the airbrush cup or use a small brush and apply it to the spots I want to touch up.
  17. this is the base coat I have been using. This is over a combination of Candy2o colors
  18. A true Candy Apple Red is a candy red over a gold base but over a sliver base it still looks good , Yes this is airbrush but it is a candy red over a Rustoleum (rattle can ) silver metallic base.
  19. Ditto: I normally wait weeks for it to fully dry and try not to ever touch. I have yet to find a clear that will not dull it, but I am still looking. Just airbrushed these . now to play the waiting game
  20. Yes, I have Iwata, Paasche and Badger airbrushes and I use quick connecters on all of them.
  21. After rethinking my answer I took another look and I ended going with the kit quad .
  22. As a follow up from the great thread "What did you learn to drive in? " I thought I would see how we all got our first ticket ? I was 17 driving a 51 Ford in 1967, It had some air in the brake system and you had to pump the brakes up to stop. I was doing 45 in a 30 and got pulled over. The Officer must have noticed my brake lights going off and on, so he asked me to push on the brake pedal while he watched. Of coarse the pedal went almost to the floor. Got a ticket for defective brakes and speeding. I was under 18 so I had to go to Juvenile Traffic Court, got lucky and only lost my license for 2 weeks. Not sure how I survived my younger years.
  23. I have a body from a kit I used the rest as a donor for another project. But Thanks Gerry Now that I think about it I don't have kits, just a lot of boxes of parts LOL
  24. Maybe I will match it up with a Orange Grate body I have in the stash
