  1. I'm just curious... CAN ANYONE ON HERE READ MY POSTS AT ALL????????????????????? Please let me know. Yes I can see therm and have taken note. I do have a Revell 68 2in1 and a General Lee kit to use . I must have missed it but what is the problem/s withe the body in the General Lee kit. They used different cars for the show, is there a particular version to build too?

  4. I saw a General Lee Challenger driving down the street yesterday and thought about doing a build of it . Just wondering if the flag decal from the Charger kit would be to large for the Challenger ?
  5. I normally thin with water and it dries flat. I will try Future thinning on my next build.

  7. When you thinned it with Future did it have a flat finish or ?
  8. I have a lot Autoair/Createx paint left over from my motorcycle tank painting days about 10 or more years ago. At this time that is all I am using. I haven't got the clearing with Future down yet but I like working with the paint. I did find that working with some colors like Chrome Yellow that the more coats you put on the oranger it gets.

  10. Thanks for all the replies. Very helpful. I think I will continue on the way I am doing it. I mostly like the challenge. I don't care a lot about what others can't see, I know whats there and whats not. I try and keep to scale and currently trying t come up with a scratch built distributor that doesn't look to large. Thanks for the input Jon
  11. A list a slicks would be helpful. Would it also include types, such as Pie Crust, Cheater, White Wall ? I am currently into Hot Rods an use slicks a lot and a "slick" list would be slick.
  12. I like to use metal tubing for headers, tail pipes and carb intakes because the thin walls make for a more realistic look. I sometimes put tubing within tubing to make glass packs, shocks and distributors. Brass will bend a bit easier without cracking but aluminum has the right finish color and you can leave it as it is or polish it to a almost chrome look.
  13. I am Old School and would go with the 27" 15 on the front and 30" 18 on the back all depending on what wheels you use.
  14. Every new build I try to stretch my skills and add more detail. I just put a oil pan drain plug on a Ford V6 and started considering putting on starter and alternator wiring. Can too much detail go too far over the top and detract from the build? Do you draw a line on where to stop or is there a line for you ?

  18. This is kinda what did to mine (non Shelby) back in the early 70's. Cant remember if I painted the louvers themselves or left them stock color. Too many years and too many beers.

  20. Yup Gear oil pump. Used one back in the early 70's Used one like this for draining oil
  21. Wiki states that 65 Shelby had the Louvers and in 66 they went to windows. If you google images you will see some 65's with windows and some 66's louvers.

  23. Ca you tell me which version ? I can only find one Mongram 65/66 fastbacks that have louvers in place of windows and they are molded in.
