  1. Just got an email that Squadron is having a big sale this weekend. I saw the 1/24th scale Meng F350 kit on sale for $51, and there were many other bargains too!
  2. If anyone is in need of one of these kits, Squadron is having a huge sale and this kit can be had for $51 !
  3. I lived in St. Louis, but luckily it was from October to March, as I transferred back to Chicago before I got to experience a summer in Misery. You are correct that someone who hasn't experienced high humidity can't understand it! My son heads to Ft. Wood in August for his boot camp and AIT training and will be there through December. He assures me it won't be that bad because as he said "Dad, you know how it cools off sooner in the Midwest than it does here in NC". It took all of my strength to not laugh out loud at him and can't wait to hear about his 4 AM PT and drill exercises due to black flag conditions!
  4. There is a resin version from Bandit Resins, very nice kit and Kenny does a great job with all of his resin stuff..
  5. I make sales calls, in and out of the heat and A/C, all day long and it wears you out quickly. Being fat doesn't help, but the dew point has risen to almost 70 degrees this week. Add in the 99 degree air temp with the dew point and it feels like 108 degrees! And before Agent G or any of the Aridzona contingent chimes in, it's a WET heat! LOL ! Looking at the bright side? June is almost over, our winters aren't that bad, and I will probably lose a few pounds before my next doctor's appointment because I usually eat less in the summer due to the heat.
  6. Thanks Aaron, that doesn't look bad at all, better than most! I will definitely be placing an order!
  7. Another great trade with Chuck Most, exactly as expected! !
  8. "texting" "snap chat" "facebook me" "follow me on Twitter"
  9. I agree with you Tom, no value in telling someone that their model looks great when there are obvious flaws. I think the trouble lies in being able to get your message across to someone via the internet without it being mis-interpreted. This forum (and many others) along with email are basically one-sided conversations and being able to differentiate between constructive criticism and someone being a jerk is not always the easiest thing for people. You are correct in that commenting about a paint job, mentioning the orange peel and how a polishing kit can help improve it is beneficial, but only if the recipient takes the right way.
  10. Any opinions on the quality of the RMR kits? I see some kits that I would like to get but am not familiar with the quality. I suspect that at the price point listed, they aren't in the same league as say Modelhaus , but hopefully not a resin blob either.
  11. Would love to be there but that is the day my wife chose for our daughter's graduation party. Have fun without me and as always, share the pictures Tom!
  12. I am with you Aaron, would love to see the 4wd option along with a F250/350. I have plans to replicate my dad's F250 as soon as Scenes Unlimited has those new truck tires ready using the '71 longbed kit. I think a new set of wheels and tires for the longbed kit would probably suffice for a F250.
  13. That Beverly Hills Nova is the kit you need.
  14. Tower Hobbies shows it being a late July release.
  15. About 6 weeks into a new sales job, similar but different than what I was doing before. Took over a territory that was not well maintained and in some cases, a previous rep did a great job of loading up customers with inventory or just outright pissing them off! I see the challenges and will hit them head on and am confident that I can win back some business. Second call today was on one of the customers that told me and my boss last month that the previous rep "raped me bad on pricing and ordering things I don't need" so I went in expecting a brief but "no sale" sales call. The service manager was very pleasant to me as I explained I only needed a few minutes of his time and he invited me to sit down and show him our monthly specials. This account hasn't bought ANYTHING in over 12 months, so I wasn't optimistic that I would get an order. 15 minutes later I am out the door with an order that equaled all of last year's purchases and a customer thinking about adding a few new items not previously considered! I figured after that call, the rest of the day was going to be a breeze and it basically was. Best news was the disbelief in my bosses' voice when I replayed the sales call for him and how we may have made progress in a short period of time and he was just excited that we got the customer to order!
  16. Don't force yourself to spend time with him, kids are pretty smart and can figure things out. Like others have said, find something that interests the two of you and go from there. Yes, being around kids, whether you have some of your own or not, can be trying and difficult and it's not for everyone. He might not be able to assemble a model kit, but does he like cars? Buy him some Hot Wheels and find out! I was 30 when my son was born and i enjoyed playing with him.
  17. You have decided already that you don't want to spend a lot of time with him, why are you asking us to help you change your mind? Only you can decide what to do, not a forum of fellow model car builders. As the nephew grows, maybe you will too and your views towards him will change and a relationship will form, maybe not. Not sure what your experience growing up was like with your uncles, maybe that has something to do with your view? Be honest with your sister, it might strain your relationship but unless you are a great actor, she will be able to see your struggle.
  18. Check with Bandit Resins, I believe Kenny has a correct round headlamp grille for the '78-79 model years.
  19. Very nice and well detailed. The paint jobs on both are extremely well done.
  20. That is very nice, especially if it was built years ago! Love that color.
  21. I would highly recommend going over those quarter panels and removing the mold lines and check the rest of the car for any additional mold lines. Best of luck on the vinyl top!
  22. A trip to In and Out Burger shouldn't cost more than $20 Chuck, even if you add in ice cream! LOL I think I will have to make room in my budget for one of these.
  23. Get ready for some orders, something tells me there is demand!
