  1. Not being a smart @$$ here Stan, but did you ask anyone at the store why they disappeared? Might be they are re-setting the aisle and moved them elsewhere or maybe into the back room. It's worth asking them what happened, if for no other reason you will know what their plans are going forward. That said, consider using online places like Plastic-Models.com. I used them last week and it took 3 days from when I placed my order to when it showed up on my doorstep. Much bigger selection than Wal-Mart or Hobby Lobby and they have paint and other detailing items not found at those big box stores. They usually have various coupons for certain dollars off or free shipping and I always can find $25 of stuff to order to get free shipping!
  2. Mark, I think Danny at Scenes Unlimited has wheels/tires that would work on those kits so you don't have to buy another kit. I know The Modelhaus offers them as well but as we know, they are not taking orders right now.
  3. Yeah, they really haven't sold models in quite some time now. They occasionally have them around the holidays in some locations. Check out Plastic-Models.com, they often have free shipping on orders over $25, which isn't hard to do these days!
  4. comes up with an error when trying to open your photobucket
  5. I had posted a while back in the the topic "What Irked You Today?" about my hunt for a job since losing mine back in December. Well, today, what pleased me is that I finally had a job offer! If all goes as planned, I will be back at work in two weeks. Ironically, my new boss is really an old friend who has hired me for my last two jobs, so it does pay to be nice to the boss and to stay in touch when moving around! Looking forward to going back to work and hope to never have to go through this process again!
  6. Check with Modelroundup or Plastic-Models.com, they should have estimates on when they will be available.
  7. If the body looks half as nice as the chassis, then I'd say you have a winner! That chassis looks fantastic.
  8. Way to go Kevin, getting the original hood fixed! That is looking beautiful and anxious to see it done!
  9. That is coming along great, should be beautiful when you have it done!
  10. I think you are on to something here Dave, as Harvick is signed only through this season with SHR, and I have wondered how Kasey Kahne has held on to his job at HMS all these years when his results have been less than ideal. Granted, Dale Jr. hasn't fared well either, but Rick Hendrick knows that Jr. brings sponsorship dollars and fan attention.
  11. Those kits, along with the Revell Snap Fits, can be real helpful in busting the modeling slump. Great job on that Corvette, looks great!
  12. Coming along very well, that is one detailed model! Best of luck on the polishing the hood, hope it works out for you.
  13. Great job on that Jason and with that cage, that thing should hold up to many runs down the dragstrip! Love the color keyed wheels and overall stance. One suggestion though, the front chin spoiler on Camaros had a matte black finish on them.
  14. That is looking nice Kevin and like Steve mentioned, try buffing that hood out before starting over. Also, maybe a hobby CA glue would work better?
  15. I just checked eBay and they have one of the older issues (Can-Do) for $242 and the recent issue (Will-Do) for $105. Glad I bought mine when I did!
  16. Very nice and different!
  17. There were some colors back in the 90's that were close, I do remember Chevy had the Beretta Pace Car that was close to the Emerald Turquoise. While I would like to get a perfect match, it is more for my shelf than anything else. I will hit up the local Auto Zone and Advance tomorrow to see what they have. I will also check the Duplicolor website to see what they might have that can be ordered. Thanks!
  18. If you do go, be sure to bring your extra lunch money, the swap area is usually packed and deals can be found! I am hopeful to be there with a table to continue the sell off of my extra kits.
  19. This fat guy is gonna have to skip a couple of lunches and spend that money on more of your fine products! Those tires are beautiful! Are the wheels that are shown with the Bronco available? I like them and might want to include them with my order.
  20. That is looking great Scott, you better bring that to the SCMA show in Simpsonville in May!
  21. Those are nice wheels and they are cast by Casey, a member here who does many others as well.
  22. The CKM show in August, usually the third weekend, near Mocksville. Always a good show.
  23. Greg, Having some of your resin pieces already, I can honestly say that you are qualified to continue the quality established by Don and Carol. That said, whomever buys the Modelhaus had better be prepared to spend long hours and lots of dollars during the transition period. Whatever the selling price is, the new owner will have costs that Don and Carol incurred over their 30 years, and it wouldn't be unreasonable to see a price increase to cover them. I wonder if someone approached them about buying certain parts of the business (wheels/tires; kits; or brands- Ford/GM/Mopar) if they would piecemeal it out? That might be easier for someone to take on and not overwhelm them to the point of closing down or compromising quality. It will be interesting to see what becomes of the Modelhaus. We can hope that somehow, someone, can continue the company in some form and us modelers are able to get some more parts!
  24. Mike- Thanks, I will order the paint from MCW, I haven't been able to find anything else close and I appreciate the help. Snake- the car is definitely painted Emerald Turquoise, but I might get the Tahoe Turquoise for another build!
  25. Getting ready for this kit and need some help finding a suitable source for some Emerald Turquoise paint to replicate a friends' 67 Nickey. I see Testors has a spray enamel that is pretty close, any other suggestions that aren't pricey? Wasn't certain MCW had the correct color and at $15 a can, didn't want to guess! Thanks in advance for the help.
