Flat Hood 4 Revell `67 Camaro
mikemodeler replied to 69NovaYenko's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Might be worth checking with Norm and Replicas and Miniatures, he has a bunch of similar conversion pieces for other Camaros. -
The snap kits are great to get out of a slump or to experiment with paint. I have a bunch of snappers in my display case, mostly 69 Camaros and 63 Corvettes. Surprisingly enough, the body proportions on the Revell snap kits are spot on and make for some nice models when completed. Don't hesitate to buy and build them, enjoy the journey!

CUSTOM CREEP CAR CULTURE CARICATURES

Well, considering we are entrusted to put the information ourselves, if I was to run a scam like this I don't think I would list the same city. Using another town 200 miles away might throw enough people off the trail for awhile. Of course when Harry disclosed that the two members were using the same I.P. address, that kind of spilled the beans! -
I was just looking at the Tower Hobbies website and many of the Tamiya spray lacquers were listed as either temporarily unavailable or on order. Has there been an issue with getting the paint here in the States? There is only one LHS and they carry the Tamiya paint but it's out of my way to go there, has anyone else had an issue? I know a while back there was a labeling issue with the clear, have the others been affected?

Great work as always! I enjoy watching your builds come together and the level of scratchbuilding is incredible. -
That is really nice, great details and realistic. That first picture had me thinking it was of the 1:1 !

I can same the same for Ken (BIGTRUCK), no problems and would do it again !

You post some pictures of a real truck, call it a model and expect us to believe you? Just kidding, that is awesome and very realistic, great details and weathering. -

Scale Equipment LTD is another possibility along with Norm Veber at Replicas and Miniatures. -
30,000 Model Cars

Sounds great, however the church is not in the museum business and it appears the guy left his estate to the church, which is going to use the proceeds for programs. If you look closely at the cars in the collection, some are the clunky cheap die cast you see at truck stops and gas stations while some are truly desirable pieces. Hopefully the right person identifies which is which and maybe the common, inexpensive ones finds their way to the church's children. -
continued thoughts and prayers to your family Joe as your wife continues her speedy recovery! Hopes and prayers that she will be back to her routine in no time and life will begin to return to some sort of normalcy for all of you!

Rob, Sorry for your loss, I went through the loss of my Mom last month. She had been in rapidly declining health but I take solace in the fact she and my Dad are reunited in Heaven. Safe travels back to Ohio and your family is in my prayers.

Really Donn, you need to be more honest in describing yourself! That statement above applies to at least three guys here (myself included!) LOL Donn's DVDs are packed with useful information and his style is perfect as he puts it into terms you can understand. And if you get the chance to meet him at a show, like I did 5 years ago, you will see his passion for helping others!

Box stock Nova Prostreet (RedSled) 3/25
mikemodeler replied to CelticModeler's topic in WIP: Model Cars
Looks great, nicely detailed. A couple of observations: 1. That grille will look a lot better with a black wash and give it some realistic depth. Dilute some black paint and go to town! 2. A simple scrape of the hobby knife on that "TM GM" will make that chassis look even better. -
To Charlie and Chuck's points, I agree that if the body proportions are spot on and the underhood details are somewhat vague, then I am a buyer of the kit as I tend to display my models with the hood closed. In the case of this car, this was the beginning of the era where engine compartments started to shrink and more "stuff" was crammed in them so reality is that there isn't much to see anyway.

That's a heck of a collection and I will be sure to show it to my wife so she can see others have more than I do! I wonder if he ever let others see his collection? I am guessing that very few people knew about it, other wise he may have left certain cars to them.

Galaxie Car Hauler
mikemodeler replied to iamsuperdan's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I have that problem too! I have a list of about $60 of wheels/tires and that duallie conversion that I want to order but am currently jobless, so that isn't going to happen! -
not sure which paint you are using, but just follow the basics: 1. Wash the parts you are going to paint with warm soapy water to remove any mold residue. 2. Prime the parts lightly and let them dry for a day. Typically any parts I paint silver I try to do last as they tend to be more likely to be sensitive to smudging from the oil on my fingers. You might want to experiment with different paints (brush/spray and acrylic/enamel/lacquer) to see what works best for you!
