The best way would be to call them. They are in the same time zone as Chicago, if that helps you to determine when to call. I have never heard of anyone not getting their order or customer service that wasn't outstanding, so I would call them if you haven't given them any credit card information. I understand that they are a small operation (3 employees) and given their high quality product, I can see where they wouldn't have tons of extra time to spend on the computer.

That was probably a computer generated response. They lost a son last year (unexpectedly) and took some time off to deal with the loss. Don and Carol have been nothing but upstanding and straightforward in their business and I would be willing to bet that your order has been received and is in the process of being put in line for shipping. They have always had a policy of working on orders in the order they came in, regardless of what was ordered.

I think the cashier was checking you out (literally and figuratively) and wanted to know where you live so she can start stalking you! LOL As others have stated, the policy of carding EVERYONE is probably in place so their employees don't let underage drinking happen.

Growing up in the northern burbs of Chicago, it had to be really cold or snowy for them to close schools and while I remember some bad storms from the '70's, we all somehow made it to school. My kids started school in northern Illinois before we moved to Charlotte 10 years ago. We lived in a small town in Illinois and not once did they have a snow day because our village was very efficient at snow removal. They get down here and they average at least 2-3 snow days per year because : 1. The lack of snow removal equipment in the area. For the first time ever they salted our streets last Friday during our sleet/snow event that yielded 2" of mix. 2. The schools are quick to close as the district runs county wide here in NC, unlike Illinois, and one end of the county can hit with 3 inches of snow and ice and the other end has nothing! 3. The legal ramifications of holding school and the possibility of an accident to too great for the leaders to risk. Again, a lack of equipment prevents common sense decisions. My family has had the last three days off of school (Friday, Monday and Tuesday) and will now be using other holidays to make up the lost days. Last Friday was a legitimate snow day as we had ice on the roads and high winds causing visibility problems. Yesterday and today are a joke as the temps have warmed to near 60 degrees both days and the ice and snow are pretty much gone. There are a few school campuses that have some ice in their parking lots and walkways and supposedly they have crews working on clearing them today but who knows, it could be another snow day tomorrow!

The drop in oil prices has to do with a reduced demand and an increase in supply. With Iran now able to sell oil, expect prices to stay low for awhile, unless of course there is a skirmish in the Middle East. Part of the price drop also had to do with OPEC countries flooding the market with oil to drop prices so the US would cut back on domestic production as they weren't thrilled we were able to become more energy independent.

And I forgot about Jared Allen, whom we picked up this past September. And of course our coach, former Bear and member of the '85 Bears Superbowl team.

Don't forget we have a couple of former Bears on our roster Harry- Peanut Tillman and Greg Olsen ! While I will always be a Bears fan, I am so glad to be watching the Panthers this season as it has been magical. The turnovers killed the Cardinals last night and the Panthers made sure to capitalize on them. They are a better team than the one that showed up but it is difficult for most teams to play from behind and win. The Panthers struggled at times this season to put teams away once they had a big lead, look at last week's game against Seattle, but they made sure that didn't happen yesterday. Much like the 85 Bears, the Panthers feel like they are on a mission this season and won't be happy until they win in San Francisco on February 7. Looking forward to the Super Bowl, I think it will be a good game and could be Peyton Manning's last one. His record in the post season isn't that great but I have always felt that he played the game they way it was meant to be.

Their play reminds me of the 1985 Bears Harry, with the way they dominated the Cardinals on both sides of the ball today and all season. They are capable of winning the Super Bowl, just depends on which Denver team shows up in San Francisco in two weeks.

Wow, another one close to my age. Really starting to feel like life is getting shorter. Both my parents lived into their 90's, although their last 5 years or so weren't really "living" as much as existing. RIP Tim

There was a tribute album about 20 years ago, mainly country artists, covering many of the Eagles tunes. I remember Travis Tritt did a version of Take It Easy and while not exactly the same, it was a nice rendition. He even did a music video (back when they played music videos on MTV and CMT!) with the Eagles in it. There are some Eagles cover bands that will probably get some more gigs as a result of Glenn's passing. Unlike Boston, Journey and other bands, I would suspect that the Eagles will not try to replace Glenn and hit the road again. Given their ages, and the fact that their last two tours grossed hundreds of millions of dollars, they will probably just hang out and "Take It Easy" !

Thanks Rich, same to you. The local weather guys are talking about how this snowstorm might dump some serious snow up in the NC mountains and maybe a flurry or two here in Charlotte. Sounds like it could really do a number on folks living north of D.C. though.

Irony? As I am reading this post, there is a commercial on TV for a Sleep Number bed and what song is used? "Bend Me, Shape Me" !

Just a guess here Harry but unless there are some unreleased recordings, we have probably heard the last of the Eagles as a group. They broke up in 1980 and stayed that way for 14 years, only to re-group and make mega millions on a couple of tours. Given that Glenn was their "quarterback" and the driving force behind the band, I doubt anyone can replace him. Don Henley recently released a solo album that has a heavy country feel to it and he was interviewed on XM radio and revealed that he enjoyed making that music, so I would look for more from him. I always thought they all lived on the edge, but then again they were a band of the '70's and most of them did (Rush being an exception), but still can't figure out how Keith Richards has survived while others have passed before him!

If that is the case, then why doesn't he do everyone a favor and fix his website? Seems to me if he isn't going to cast parts, then take down the website.

They just announced on the evening news that Glenn Frey of the Eagles has passed away today at age 67. He had been battling some severe stomach issues and apparently had also contracted pneumonia and took a turn for the worst this past week. Grew up listening to the Eagles and enjoyed his solo music as well. RIP Glenn, I am sure there is a heck of jam session going on in heaven!
