  1. If I wasn't reading this on a model car forum, I could swear that last picture of a real 1:1! Great work as always Tyrone and I am sure it will be superb as usual.
  2. I too, am in awe of your skills and precise details that go into creating opening panels. Love watching but have no desire to attempt such a task, I have enough trouble finishing snap together models!
  3. I got all of my chores done yesterday so today I could play at the model desk! I spent 6 hours detailing, assembling, painting and working on some of the many WIPs on my desk!
  4. Absolutely incredible work Tom, so realistic that you have look close to tell whether it is real or a diorama.
  5. The Chute is because it runs in the low 9's and the trailer hitch is because the owner took it on the Hot Rod Drag Week tour and had to pull a trailer with spare parts and tools. It also has a NHRA approved roll cage.
  6. Nope, just give me your address and I will get mine shipped to you for completion! Very nice job (as usual) and I am sure it will be another magazine cover worthy build!
  7. Coming along nicely, like the green paint!
  8. Obviously you are not the normal model builder Nick, because if you were you would have more kits than time to build them all!
  9. I hear you on the heat and humidity, and I am not what you would call "fit and trim", but it is much easier for me to cool off than to warm up! The good news is that WGN is broadcast down here so we still get a good share of news and sports from Chicago, and sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad!
  10. Alan, I used to live in the northern burbs and know all about shoveling those long driveways and then being smart enough to buy a snow blower, but I gotta tell you living in the South now for 8 years, I do not miss the snow and cold. I used my snow shovel just the other day here in Charlotte..........to scoop up the leaves while dressed in shorts and a t shirt! Hope you can find a model club, they can be a lot of fun and a source of great help and information.
  11. Don, The list shows airbrush and aerosol , so I would hazard a guess that they are available either way.
  12. Dang it, now you got me thinking I better get mine done! Very nice job, clean looking build and nice detailing touches.
  13. Makes one wonder about that warehouse fire they had where the "damaged" kits ended up at Ollie's- did it happen or did they dump a bunch of kits to raise capital? I thought there were some kits still at Hobby Lobby, although that could be leftover stock from last year or so. It would be sad if they did go out of business, glad I bought a couple of the 66 Chevelles!
  14. Or Harry P's head separate from the body! JK Harry, most of us love you!
  15. I used to own a John Deere tractor that was built in Horicon, best piece of lawn equipment I owned! Some great shows, clubs and hobby shops in Wisconsin, and I hear they might get a Professional Football team soon too! ( Bears fan, couldn't resist!)
  16. Actually Tom, most Scouts in the salt belt looked like that after a couple of years! Knew a few guys in Northern Illinois that had Scouts and the biggest complaint was the rotted bodies!
  17. Does that come with a step ladder to get in and out of it? Nice building so far, should look killer when done.
  18. John, The MCM annual contest issue (February) usually has coverage from that show, not sure if Scale Auto has it in their contest issue or not. Mike
  19. Keep in mind that everyone is entitled to their opinions but when you come on a forum and ask a question, prepare yourself for differing responses. The subject of homemade vs. manufactured spray booths is a very touchy topic here on this forum. If filters were not deemed important, than I don't know why they are made. The mist from an airbrush is quite fine and probably poses little threat but depending on what else you spray in that booth (rattle can or automotive grade paints/clears or urethanes), having a filter may make a difference. Again, it is your choice so whatever you decide is on you. The concept of a filter before the fan is keep the particles from being emitted downstream or into the outside atmosphere and if the fan is of sufficient CFM, it should not affect the paint job.
  20. Which is why spending more than $5 or $10 is not worth it to me. It is a lot like trading stuff here on the forum, if you can't afford to live without it, then don't do it! Your brother would have done a whole lot better spending that money helping someone in true need than to waste it on tickets.
  21. Alright, so I just thought it was me! Obviously someone is pinching the internet hose, maybe Gregg ran it over??????
  22. Stacy David mentioned on his show the other day that he was happy to announce that Revell was going to sponsor another model building contest next year, probably why it is mentioned in the catalog. Look for details in January.
  23. I would combine many of the statements here- Help family, start some businesses to help others, charity, car collection, new house, financial security, tax shelters. I have worked with/for NAPA for years and I joke that I would buy a store and become a jerk owner just because I could! It's nice to dream but in reality I would settle for 1/10th of the jackpot because $275 million would push me into a higher tax bracket!
  24. My plan is to add to my collection as soon as my 6 numbers come up in the Powerball drawing tonight!
  25. nice job, very well detailed and that black paint looks perfect!
