  1. So, it was paycheck day. On the way to Hobby Lobby, we stopped at the Brewer Goodwill. In a bag of toys for $2, I found a Polistil Honda CB 750 diecast with a broken handlebar. I asked them to take the rest of the cr-ap in the bag and I'd pay $2 for just the bike. At Hobby Lobby, I got a bunch of stuff. Another MPC Jeep (still on sale at $14, last one on the shelf), a Lindberg '34 Ford Pickup, a Monogram T Street Rod, and a Revell Snap-Tite Corvette Convertible (in the scratch-n-dent for $10). Also picked up the AMT Racemaster slick set and the Goodyear drag tire combo pack, along with some 3/32 aluminum tubing to use for exhaust pipes. At the Brewer WalMart on the way back, I got a Revell Peterbilt 359. All-in-all, a good day for models.
  2. That 4-banger put up a fight.
  3. After a marathon session of Mafia II on the Xbox, I had "Rum and Coca Cola" by the Andrews Sisters in my head. So I was just listening to it on YouTube, and the video had a slideshow in which I saw this car: What is it? I've never seen anything like it before, although it looks slightly British.
  4. If you've got $500, your dream could be easily off to a start. Actually, this could be had in great condition for less than $3000. I also thought of another I want. The UK got plenty of these under the Ford badge, but we had them for 7 years.
  5. Oh, do we ever need a Travelall wagon in scale... They're such interesting vehicles. Very tractor-like.
  6. I'm not even afraid to say that's one of the most boring car subjects I could think of to replicate in plastic. That said, I'll take one.
  7. 2015 is the last year worldwide for the Defender. Great decision on LR's part, the last real off-road vehicle they had.
  8. http://www.imcdb.org is good for when you want to identify movie cars.
  9. Replaced the seal in my air rifle with an oil cooler seal from a VW. Seems to have a little more oomph than the cracked and yellowed one that was in it before. Found out that the scope is nearly sighted, as well: about an inch low at 12 yards. Still, should be good for pegging small vermin.
  10. My nosebleeds aren't brought on my shoving my finger up my nose. It's the dry weather that usually brings them on. Also, some doctors I've been to think I have sinusitis.
  11. What can I say? Natural selection and entropy. He obviously made a poor decision: drank too much and had dangerous materials around. Like I said, serves him right for being stupid.
  12. I hadn't even touched the Blazer because of work. Well, dang.
  13. Drunk guy in Maine yesterday had the genius idea to try and launch a rocket from the top of his head. Died instantly. Serves him right.
  14. Wait, I'm thinking this kind of mortar... I had no idea these were called 'mortars' as well...
  15. A semi-crappy Chinese B3-2 air rifle for $20. Not bad, but still has that trademark smell to it when you fire it. Maybe if I get a better one soon, I'll chop this one to carbine length. Affixed my Crosman 4x15 scope to it, and even without zeroing it seems quite good, and has a nice, crisp staccato, which partially makes up for the loose trigger that fires heavy.
  16. I heard something like a full-auto 9mm earlier, but no mortars.
  17. I knew "We hold these truths to be self-evident."
  18. I haven't even started on my Blazer. I work until 9 tonight, as well. I should be able to get everything that's supposed to be black in paint tonight.
  19. Maybe a VW Fridolin... ...or a Hillman Imp Californian/Sunbeam Stiletto/Singer Chamois. Or a Renault 8 Gordini! So much to choose from...
  20. It's good that you pointed that out.
  21. I think the wheel mounting shafts are too small. I just laid some paint down on mine and decided to glue the hood shut. It's not going to be perfect, but I should have it done within today or tomorrow.
