  1. Hi ya,all. I thought I would get back to the bench after my divorce, I'm more settled and can give some attention to the kid in me. I'm pulling out my favorite childhood gasser. I've had the old kit a few times off and on sense I was 10years old. Now the lates willys from revell is a better kit , but the doors don't open. I know cut them open right? Well I did, and my lack of practice in the last 20 odd years, has made me heavy handed. So I graphed the old kit body to the new nose and floor pan. Pictures coming soon.

  4. This is just an awesome build, please get back after it soon. i have a 1:1 48 ford I could do something similar. I also have a 1:24 kit, it's not like I have too many irons in the fire already.? Great work.

  9. Thanks Mike. I cut 4 (.250) inch blocks and epoxied them .500 apart on each door and drilled straight through, and will use .080 thick wire for the hinges.
  10. I hear you there Jim. I had a stone woods and cook Willy's once, and the paint on the body turned out so good by the time I got to the doors I couldn't get them to match the body. I was so bummed and had to start over. It just was never the same again.
  11. Yes brass is stouter. However, styrene glues much better, and I'm not the best with brass.

  13. Thanks Joe. Now if I can just figure out these hinges. I just don't think I can do oem style, there just to hard and delicate to produce.
  14. Hers my new work bench don't laugh it's still coming together. till later. I hope to get 3 to 4 hours a week on it.
  15. Well now that the move is over and I get Monday's off I can put some more time into the COPO. Here's the mold I made for the door jambs.

  23. Hey Fred, those wheels look great. Love to see how this goes together friend. I will do my diligent best to check in once and awhile. Buy the way I wish I could find some 1/12th scale poly glass good years, my 1/12 COPO is going to require them. It's just great to see a Ford freak doin a Chevy LOL.
  24. Thanks Mike. That's just what I have done. I used aluminum stock and it failed bad, so I will take more time and try again. The trunk is easy.
