I did manage to paint the backup body for the 57 today. I decanted this old Testors Yellow I found in the paint box. A little clean up and polish it should be fine.

Ever go on a Road Trip in a Classic Car?

Not the best pic, but this was my 71 Chevy with the kids and hounds. Cody and I road-tripped from Portage co. to Des Moines, Iowa with a Shovelhead chopper I built and delivered. It was a trip to remember! I gave the truck to Cody eventually and then he passed of suicide in 2020, I think of him and that trip often. -
Not sure if it was discussed, but if you place the tubbing inside of a snug spring and gently bend the tube will not buckle as easily. I use a verity of electronic/auto springs somewhat like you would find in distributor weights. Just a thought....

Another small update, test fitting fuel tanks. Relocated the filler on the right side to match left side and mock-up of the chassis covers. I ordered these blacksheepcustomdesigns on eBay parts. One question for those who did it- How much should the front axle be narrowed? -

Small progress, don’t want to get ahead of myself. Happy with the headlight adjustment, experimenting making rivets. Trying thick enamel applied with a toothpick. And frame work continues. -

Thats a great looking model you have. I was delivering tires to the track in New Hampshire and saw Kyle on track testing, that car glowed in those colors. How did you do the black inside the widows?

This mishap was entirely user error. I simply got in a hurry and failed to remove the mask over the white before clear coat. And then in frustration tried to do so too soon before the paint cured. Being yellow I will not try to repair the damage due to the fact, it would be more effort than just painting a new body. Again as stated, lesson learnt!

It definitely did not stick, but I’m sure it was user error! I will try better!

That older build turned out nice, I wondered what it would look like with the rivets removed. Is that something that a 1:1 might do? Looking at these pix of mine I could have spent some time adjusting the lights better, but I'll see how it sands out. -

Bench time today. I took a stab at smoothing the roof seam first. After a light coat of primer, I do believe I can get things figured out from here. Also flipped the headlights around to represent the 1:1 truck better. Some more careful smoothing to come. Thoughts so far? -
Pretty happy with the mock up, chassis and body work is about 90% complete. May need I little fine tuning, I see a few spots that can be improved. Thanks for looking….
