I just got a set that has car show stanchions, an easel, trophies and a mirror to put under the car.

I had bought this to use the cab in an attempt to create a GMC B9000. After I found the GMC resin cab this went back in the box. I decided to put the body back together and assemble the kit. I will use an SS454 motor I got with some junk engines.

Beautiful! Paint like that is only a dream for me.

So I used the block on the sprue along with whatever 454 parts there were along with a few from the bin and a scratchbuilt coil and came up with this. I'd like to find a way to see how the alternator, idler and the compressor are "hung".

I found this one in a hobby shop. You might be able to Google the company. I haven't tried. It is expanded metal style.

Well thanks guys for the overwhelming response. Now I know what it is and where it came from. I was able to find the instructions. All I have of it is in the photos below. I had detailed the heads a bit & stuck them in my dio. So with those parts, and the instruction sheet as a guide I should be able to build one with other parts I have.

He was at the very top of his craft. Hope he finds all he needs to carry on on the other side. And then again, he may want to rest.

What kit was this in? My research says there was only two of these made .

I checked the instruction for both the 1500 and the SS 454 and it looks to me like the unattached block as well as the small block manifolds are for the 1500. Look at the locating notches for the heads and the ribs on the tranny. While the other one is the 454.

They have the siamesed centre ports like the 350, however they are part of that kit for some reason. I looked at a you tube review of the kit and both sprues are clearly visible..The short wide intake on the other sprue is what you see when you google the 90-91 truck images. In any case, it is going in my '65 pickup build.

With Brad's hint I looked it up and it is the SS454, both sprues are. The other block looks to be from a different kit. Thanks guys.

Can anyone ID these two engines? I guess the serpentine belts make them modern.

I have this '65 pickup whoise cab I was planning to use to build the GMC B9000. I ended up not using it, so may as well build it. I thought I'd attempt to make a long bed stepside dually. Did they actually make such a beast?

I think I know the answer to this but I'll ask just the same . I'd like to share some of my threads with a friend by emailing him the links. Is he going to have to register to see them?
