Thanks Eric. The following will negate your good impressions. On how do to things backward. I masked the flanks of the car and painted the grey. Two mistakes. I should have painted the flanks first, then masked, then paint the grey. Then I forgot to mask the sides of the hood.

Made a new base for the shifter & "stole" the handbrake from the Packard kit. Continued shaping the door caps and the little fillers at the end of the dash.

You must have some designer in you to make a sensible balanced whole out of a mishmash. And with a Boss engine it must really boogie.

Here and there around town. A wicked looking old custom, a nice Caddy, A row of big ones. The 59 Galaxie used to belong to the man who had the store where we bought our "45's". And a go anywhere Suzuki. -

Did the running boards. Paint over BMF. Added a hidem molding to the front corners and rear of the roof using half round styrene. Worked on the door caps. I have to do something with the dash ends where they meet the cowl above the front of the door.

After three tries, here's the result. I ended up painting "between" the ribs and wiping the top with an alcohol dampened q-tip.It''l have to do.

Thanks Bill. Looks like it will be just about as tedious as BMF'ing each rib.

I know the answer is in here somewhere but I can't find it. the car I am working on has ribbed running boards with the ribs being shiny metal. I want to avoid BMF'ing eavh rib so I BMF's the whole board and painted it. What do I use to rub the paint off the top of the ribs?

While looking up the door caps I realized that the instruments were black faced on a silver insert. I had them backwards. I think I'll add more black to the faces.

Cutting down the upper door moldings revealed the top of the door inners. And the dash sticks up now that it isn't hidden by the base of the windshield. Lowered the dash, cut down the tub and used the cutoffs to fill the gap between the inner & outer door panels where the "glass" would have been. Now I have to make some door caps. I'll try to copy these using styrene angle. This is a bit outside of my comfort zone.

No Eric, the wheels don't steer anymore. Do your light steer with the wheels or are they poseable? The dollies are from Shapeways.

Added more signs. Mostly engine rebuilders associations. Hung the new logo above the door. I wish I knew a graphic designer. Installed the newly received wheel dollies. those things are fully functional. The rollers roll, one set of casters swivel, You can adjust the width and that little pedal lever actually locks in it place.

Painted the roof. Those strips I added almost look like they belong there. Body is in primer. Is that the roadster look you were looking for Eric? How do you guys like my wheel dollies/

And a lot of these seemingly "obvious" warnings are a direct result of companies being sued by people who were careless in the first place.

Well, not on the road but next to it at our little weekly gathering. Some fine old iron, some of it not so old. -
0More casters and the most exquisitely detailed wheel dollies I have ever seen. They're actually funbctional. The foot lever goes up & down, the arms retract and you can lock them in place with the foot lever. there is a tiny little pin that goes through the square tubing into the arm locking it in place. Not only that, the wheel support rollers actually roll. there is even a stand to store them.

Gave the front axle its u-bolts. Alcladed the windshield and the wheels. the wheels may need another coat. Touched up the exhaust. Managed to touch up the frame too. Will catch that when I paint the front axle. Managed to make it stay together long enough to take this photo. I think Eric had a good idea with the conversion to a roadster. It does look rakish , doesn't it?
