1957 Ford Sedan Delivery - Update 01-25-2016
mod3l Lover replied to Exotics_Builder's topic in WIP: Model Cars
What happened to that wonderful wood detail that you had in the bed area of the wagon? It looked so amazing like that! Or is that just the way the photo made it look gone? I love this project just the same, I must add!! David S. -
This will be fun to watch! David S.

Too cool!! I have always liked the looks of this car. Even better with a chopped top! I'm gonna enjoy checking this build out. David S.

Bill, That is some amazing work for sure! I have been a big fan ever since I found a thread with you doing roll up windows on a 1/25th scale model!! That was long before I joined this forum, and was the reason I came to this forum to watch and learn all that was here for me to be inspired by. Build on, and prosper! David S. -

Wow Henry, those are some very cool picks you came up with there! This kind of info is indeed very inspiring. Tom, I hope we all get to watch your project build on this one, if you would be so kind as to share. Happy scratching to you, David S. -
Model storage concerns
mod3l Lover replied to mod3l Lover's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank you to all who responded! Mike I bet those curved A pillars on that Pontiac are a factor on a kit like that. Didn't Moebius add molded in, but removable support by the A pillar? I want to pick one of those up some day. But I think I need to get rid of about 150-200 kits first! My income for "Model Mad Money" right now is next to nothing. Tom, Dann, Bob and Mike you are all the help I got out of all those views of this topic. Pretty sad! And the decal idea is very helpful, thanks again!! David S. -
Hello good people, I have a question concerning storage of model kits in cold temps. Most of us I'm sure understand the worries of keeping models stored in very hot storage areas! But my question is about cold storage of kits. Is there a too cold for safely storing models temp that we should be concerned with? I have never had to store kits in a cold attic before this point in my life. And I am wondering if any body has had any issues in this way, or help in any way about this topic? My plan is to unload a ton of these kits, but it does not just happen over-night. But I'm sure you all know this!?! Thank you in advance, David S.

That looks like it will be a fun and very cool build there. I did a '74 like that not too long ago. My build was just a curb-side build though! I will enjoy watching your adventure in styrene supreme. Gassers are so cool!! David S.

I too think that could be something very cool, given some time to look over all that body work. By the way, that is mostly '40 Ford parts you have there. With a little '37 mixed in for flavor! David S.

Thank you Ray, My bad, . . . I thought they were current production stuff that I was just unaware of or something! I noticed the ones on Ebay, but I'm only ever just looking for things one can "Buy it now" because I don't like to try bidding on anything. Thanks to all those who tried to help! David S. P.S.- That's a awesome build you have there, you just gotta love them AC Cobras!!

LOOKED THERE!!

I really did want to know how I might find these kits somewhere! But if it's too much trouble . . . . . . .

1957 Ford Sedan Delivery - Update 01-25-2016

Gerry, Thanks for your response, and I have to say that I am on the edge of my seat for this one! It's a very small chair. David S. P.S.- I'm shooting for something like this myself! -
I am close to re-thinking the motor choice on this build now. Well at a Fleet Farm store in our area I found a model kit for $15.00, it was the '50 Ford (Trucks) kit by Revell. But the most interesting part was the Flathead motor with Ardun heads and 3 nuts! Also though, is the fact that I want these heads and parts for other builds. So I think I'm going to have to learn how to resin cast small parts.

Have you fit the Revell parts in the body yet? I'm very interested in how well the fit is on that. That combo has been on my mind for a while now for sure. But to make a gasser build!! David S. -
Just another point I would like to make, at least you have the guts to try! I want to do some of that, but I do feel that I will fail miserably. David S.

I like what your doing here myself, but it's true that the rusty look is more of a barnacle thing in over-all appearance than just rust corrosion. The build concept is very cool though, and I look forward to seeing how it comes along. Rust never sleeps, rust on! David S.

The rain in Spain falls mainly on the plane . . . .

I don't know that kit. But it looks like it will be a nice one. David S.
-
Wow, that's real looking Matt! What Camaro kit do you have that motor is going into? David S.
-
That looks really cool Matt! Ya' jus gotta love dem big winged Mopars. Is that your own design concept? You know what? I have never seen that Plymouth decal laid on so straight before. Nice!! Build on, David S.

Yeah, it certainly looks good from here. You are doing some very nice work, he will be pleased I'm sure of that! David S.
