  1. This is just too cool Ryan! David S.
  2. Hey John, Thanks for the input, I'm leaning that way too! The way I look at it, a blown flathead will need at least a 9 inch wide tire! But the American Racing wheels are kinda worn out. I want to maybe use some cast aluminum wheels of some type. David S.
  3. Oh goodie goodie gumdrop! I was looking forward to seeing a very cool custom build. I learn a lot from watching builds like this, and it was a very cool project for sure. Happy chopping and dicing, David S.
  4. But then the wheel and tire choice is likely going to be one of those things that will keep changing maybe right to the end. Here are a few of my choices for now. I would very much like some input on this matter also! Thanks, >David
  5. Well good people, . . . I think my mind is made up regarding the stance and frame length. But like many of you would agree, picking out the wheel and tire choice can be a trial in itself! I want the car to sit pretty much like the 2 pics I am posting below.
  6. I also want to mention how pleased I am with the way the '29 roadster frame fits in the '30 coupe body. There was quite a bit of hogging out of the body needed to make it work. But I wanted that kinda thing for the skills I need for future resin builds! Anyway, I think it fits in there pretty darn good!!
  7. I'm going with that wheel in middle for sure, or as long as it fits! Thanks for the advice on that issue Craig. I spent a bit of time on adding a little length to the deck lid. It needs yet material added in the width also. But then I'm back to the rest of the build, I hope!?! Thank you all for any comments and help!
  8. This is going to be a very cool build however you do it! I have a '59 Corvette build that's very stalled right now, but it is a club racer car also. They have groups that race at a track near me called Road America. David S.
  9. Today I'm hoping for a bit of input on some choices for interior stuff. I have door panels, the seat, dash and a few other things thought out, but I can't decide on the steering wheel choice for this car! Here is a couple pics on what I got so far.
  10. Ray that is so incredible looking! You are such a brave man that's for sure. With a kit that old and rare, I would be terrified that I would goof it up. David S.
  11. Wow, that's a eye catcher for sure! The interior work is real nice, it's going to look great inside that body color. David S.
  12. Thank you Dave, all the kind comments are helpful indeed! I was afraid when I started it, and then I realized why. I had the body crack right below the trunk opening! It was pretty easily mended with some CA type glue. By the way, I love dirt track cars of all types! Do you have any builds posted here? David S.
  13. The new trunk lid is a styrene one, much easier to work with than that resin chuck that came out of there! But it's in need of some sizing to fit perfectly.
  14. I did a few more things with this project. And I'm going to post some pics later today. My hopes are that you good people can give me some input on a few choices also. It's a bit of that "I just can't decide" kinda thing going on! I opened up the trunk for viewing the few goodies that come with the '29 kit, but then wanted to add all new goodies instead.
  15. Truly perfetto! I just love those rallye cars. Build it clean, and you'll have a nice clean build! >Plato David S.
  16. Matt, I like it both ways on the wheels! And the white on that black body really pops for sure. That Olds is gonna look great!! Build happy, and you'll have a happy builder! David S.
  17. That is so beautiful, how can you not love it!?! Happy building, David S.
  18. You have been busy, and the paint looks good to me. Black can be a bugger to work with because it shows everything! Your body prep was great, so it's bound to turn out good. Build on, and prosper! David S.
  19. Very cool indeed! I have seen some cool stuff built in that build genre. David S.
  20. Hello all, This is my very first build thread, and my first resin kit ever built! The body is a Jimmy Flintstone body my wife got me for Christmas last year, and when the '29 Ford roadster kit came out, I knew I had a frame to use. I have started some of the cleaning up the body work. I knew that would take me a bit, and it did.
  21. Brian, This is looking Uber Duper for sure! Are you planning on hanging the Indy Car wing out back? Just asking because you have the wing mount sticking out the back. It would look pretty cool I think! . . Or not!?! Build happy, David S.
  22. Such Raw Rusty Realism! I love it. I need to learn how to make that work for me. I have not been too lucky with the Rusty-Crusty thing look. David S.
  23. That is one sweet Mustang build! All those little details make it just pop. I love it, let's just hope the body don't just fly off!! David S.
  24. It looks great! David S.
  25. Top notch work Patrick! It's amazing all the driving lights they can fit on a Rallye car like that. Road America race track is 20 mins. from where I live. You would love all the sports car races there. It's a great place to watch racing that's for sure! Build Happy sir, David S.
