Thankyou all for your comments, they are very much appreciated. Cliff, getting together with everyone for a show can't come soon enough for me! -
1958 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery

Steve, The only challenge I can recall having was getting the door panels to mate with the floor and also the window sills of the body. The chassis dropped right in, but I had to grind quite a bit off of the engine cradle to get the engine to fit under the hood. That 6 is a lot taller than the V8 I guess. As per usual, there was lots and lots of test fitting, and a real good cleaning of the resin body. -

Thanks Bill. I'm sorry, but I didn't do a WIP thread, but the interior detail ends just behind the bench seat. I didn't do the cargo area. I cut the AMT interior at that point and then sanded off the Impala upholstery detail. I painted the seat and door panels to reflect the 'Delray' style of trim. You've done a super job on this Ford! Your paintwork is enviable., and so is your completion rate of high quality builds! I've contemplated building one of these kits for some time now and seeing yours has inspired me to go get one.

For this model I used the Jimmy Flintstone resin body and a derelict AMT '58 Chevrolet Impala that I used for it's hood, chassis and partial interior. A beat up AMT'59 El Camino gave up it's gas tank and I scratch built a spare tie well. I scratch built a steering wheel for it as well, but later discovered that same El Camino had the correct steering wheel for this car all along. The engine was sourced from the AMT '60 Chevy pickup and I added a scratch built air cleaner. The air cleaner was made by cutting a slice out of a clear lightbulb blister pack, a styrene base, a section of a ball point pen barrel and some little pieces of scotch tape for the top detail. Clearly, this resin body wasn't intended to be built as a stock vehicle, so door handles (Fireball Modelworks), a side rearview mirror etc. had to be added. The paint is Testors enamel mixed to be what I hope is a close match for 1958 Chevrolet 'Glen Green'. I thinned it with regular hardware store enamel paint thinner and polished it a little with some liquid car wax. I airbrushed the white walls on the tires with Tamiya flat acrylic paint with a circle template as a mask. White wall tires on a utilitarian vehicle like this were probably seldom seen, but I saw a picture of one that had them in an old '58 Chevrolet sales brochure and really liked the look. Thanks for looking!

How cool where these cars? That 3/4 view from the rear is just stunning! Beautiful work! I love the finish and your foil work is first rate.

You've done a gorgeous job on Marilyn's Cadillac Gene! The colour is unexpected and not often seen which makes it all the more convincing for me. It's expertly applied too. I have to say, I get a little nervous thinking about all that foil work, but you did a great job with it. Inside and out! Thanks for posting it. Eric

This looks like a very nice kit and you’ve done a really, really nice job with it! Very clean and realistic looking. I like your colour choices a lot too. Finding the right colours on stock builds is one of the hardest parts of the process for me!

Great work on these Terry! Probably my favourite movie, so it’s really nice to see these done so well. These are Syd Mead designs I believe. (RIP Syd.) Built by Gene Winfield? That’s cool.

Great design and execution on your Vicky! I love the stance and the colour. Those wheels are really cool too.

1978 Dodge pickup

You did a beautiful job on your Dodge! Very clean execution with great attention to detail and basic modelling techniques. Super paint job too! I'm very impressed by your use of Alclad for the chrome. It looks much more realistic than the kit chrome would have in my opinion. You've really inspired me to give it a try on my next model. When you're under the hood installing that master cylinder, maybe you could toss a battery in there too! (Sorry, I don't mean to be a wiseguy!) -

Beautifully built and photographed. Very cleanly done with great attention to detail. Could you tell me where you got the paint for it? -
What a cool old Ford! It looks terrific. I hope you and your family have a ton of fun with it. I sure would!!!
-
Excellent work on your GTX! Your paint and foil work is superb. I really like the finishes you gave the interior as well, they’re very convincing. Great wheel and tire choice too. Those torque thrusts are ‘all business’!

Rodney, I find this deuce incredibly cool! Stealthy even. You really know your way around hot rods. Everything about it looks ‘right’. I suppose the colour is on trend, and many won’t ‘get it’, but I can’t stop looking at it! Great job!

I've known about these kits for some time but I can't recall seeing them built up before. These are all beautifully finished and assembled. The Jag and the Corvette really do look like real cars-just awesome. I bet it's good to have them out for you to enjoy again. I definitely enjoyed seeing your photos! Thanks for posting them Cliff.

Very nicely done! Your paint job is spectacular! Seeing your Cutlass takes me back to my high school days. These cars were everywhere!

Fantastic build Mr. Lin! Thankyou for sharing your process in the video. I would love to be able to lay down a finish like this. -back to the paint booth I go!

Your Buick is drop dead gorgeous Gene! It really does look like a real car. I especially admire your interior and engine bay work on this one. Very, very nice.

Yes that Fumby Street Motors model is very nice. A friend of mine has one. I created a 3D computer model of a WC 22 several years ago, but I don’t know if it’s suitable for 3D printing. It would most likely need a lot of work to get it ready. It would be a nice subject to have in 1/25 scale.

What a knockout! Your execution on this model is first rate all around. After seeing your work on this I predict a lot of people will be wanting to build their own copy of this kit. Me included! I’ll have to see if I can find one. Thanks for sharing some of your build details as well.

Now that’s what I call a sleeper! Grandma would not be wasting much time getting to the grocery store. Great colour choice. (The only giveaway would be the slightly beefy tires.) You’ve shown that with a little attention to detail this kit can be made to look really good. Especially in regards to the engine and rolling stock. Great job!

Super job on this Chevy. You really did this vintage kit justice. I like the colour choice as well.
-
A classic T-bucket. You really nailed the look! Awesome attention to detail throughout, but that engine.....gorgeous!

Quite a creative approach to take on this car. Good call switching the colour combination. I like those wheels too.
