  1. Very well done and original. I like the modern touches like the decals and the light bar. Like others have noted, you could get to the hospital quickly -and in complete privacy too. Just watch out for the speed bumps on the way into the hospital!
  2. It’s great to see someone tackle a project like this. Great job Mario. You put a ton of work into this replica!
  3. A fascinating subject superbly built! I love these old trucks.
  4. Another truly amazing model from you Larry! I've had the pleasure of watching you build a couple of models of this type now and I'm still amazed and left wondering just how a lot of it is done. The base engine is a fine replica in itself, especially having been hewn from a solid chunk of styrene! The large scale of this model lends itself to (and begs for) more detail, but the addition of so many operable features really puts it 'over the top'. Just check out those hood hinges! The precision of your scratch-building and the great paint finishes are always super impressive. Excellent photos too. I'm looking forward to seeing it in person. Until then, thanks for posting it! Eric
  5. No, not just ‘another 29 roadster’. This one has your stamp on it. I too like the cool color choice and the overall clean, tasteful and traditional execution.
  6. You did a beautiful job on this bird David. I’m impressed by how well the hood and the front bumper line up. I like your interior work too. That flocking layed down really nicely.
  7. You’ve done a great job on your Merc! The finish is outstanding! I would have done that engine swap too. The wood trim looks very nice, and I like how you picked out those chrome bolt heads.
  8. What amazing luck you have Gene! That’s a great find! Keep haunting those garage sales!
  9. That’s so great! What a smile! Way to go ‘Pops’!
  10. Great job giving your Mercury a new lease on life! Very nice paint and foil work. The chrome looks beautiful. Did you have to refurbish it? Can I also ask where you got those great wheels?
  11. You’ve done a super nice job on your Olds Rich. These old Johan kits really are excellent raw material for someone who wants to put in the work and attention to detail they deserve. Having that Modelhaus interior is a huge bonus. I really like this one, as well as all your recently posted oldies!
  12. Great job on this old truck. The weathering looks very realistic. It gives it a time-worn but still viable, and daily driven look. You thoughtfully put a little grime on the tires too. Love it!
  13. There is an incredible array of superbly built subjects to look at on this forum, but your restoration of these old jewels is the sort of thing I always hope to see more of when I come here. Not only are they rare, but you are really doing them justice with excellent paint and trim work. Your intricate painting of those interiors is impressive as well. As a replica stock fan, I find the color choices you’ve made for these cars really nice and very realistic. I have a number of old built ups of my own from this era that I hope to do the same thing with, so seeing yours has me inspired. Thanks for sharing yours!
  14. Your Plymouth looks fantastic! The paint is gorgeous, and you did a superb job on all the trim. You chose a beautiful and realistic colour combination for this model. I have one of these waiting to be restored as well. Now I’m inspired!
  15. Great job! It’s the nicest Edsel build I’ve seen to date. I too really like the paint scheme you chose and your detail painting under the hood is terrific.
  16. Your Charger has a terrific factory stock look. I really like the colour too. Like everyone has been saying, the open vent window is a really nice touch that I don’t remember seeing before. We’ll done.
  17. Welcome to the forum Ray! I hope we can get together with Larry and Cliff for a model show again some time. Eric
  18. Those look really good!
  19. What a gorgeous Plymouth Paul. That colour is stunning! I have to say I prefer these bumpers to the ones that were used on the Fury’s. I also really like the slick wheel covers on the ‘57 cars. I wonder if many of those found their way onto custom cars of that era. A beautifully finished model right down to the cool factory upholstery pattern!
  20. Rusty, your work on this Plymouth is really 'next level!' You really have a keen eye for the subtleties of this car's shape, and are pointing out things that I never would have seen (but wish I had!). I think these cars make great subjects for customs and I'd like to do one myself. Excellent work so far. I'm looking forward to following along.
  21. Man it really pays to go back and check out the older posts! Your Buick is a knockout! Good call lowering the front end. It’s perfect now. Super finish and foil too!
  22. Cliff, you've done a superb job taking the best parts of these two kits and blending them together. Your very extensive body work has really captured all the subtle characteristics of the '51 Chevy sedan delivery. I think a big part of the fun in a project like this is all the research that goes into getting the factory details right. You work just as easily in diecast metal as you do in plastic, so I guess it's a matter of whatever material the desired subject is in. Reinforcing the body with wire is a smart plan. You won't have to worry about the model falling apart down the road and the doors will continue to open and close as they should. Seeing your in-progress photos made me realize there's a surprising amount of brightwork on these cars. Reproducing it was a lot of work but certainly worth it in my opinion. I have a big appreciation for '49 to '52 Chevrolets. I feel as though they exist somewhat in the shadow of the ever popular tri-five Chevys. Their good looking styling was sort of transitional but they don't have the performance image. I love the last photo with all your SDs together, and I'm looking forward to seeing this latest addition in person. It shouldn't be too long from now!
  23. I love this model. It reminds me what a big world this is, with lots of interesting vehicles in it. I tend to focus rather narrowly on North American cars and trucks. It makes me think there must be a wealth of subject matter I’ve never even seen before, like this one. I find looking at models like yours refreshing. Great job btw!
  24. Wow, Mario, you could teach a class on weathering techniques!
  25. Thanks everyone for your time and comments. It’s very much appreciated. Thank you also Bill and Rusty for your insights into the kits development and possible reasons how it turned out the way it did. Rusty, I’m looking forward to seeing yours whenever you’re ready!
