Tamiya Toyota GT One IS DONE !!!
TonyK replied to Fifer's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Sharp! Real clean looking. Since it's a Tamiya kit I'd say it was a joy to build. -
I think the Charger funny car would be a good one.

Finished - AMT Phantom Van

Sharp! That decal blends in real nice with the fantastic paint job. -
Real nice! Good looking paint, engine, and driver.

As unpleasant as your experience was, I always figure it's a sure thing your body reacted to the vaccine and fought it and won. I've had a similar reaction to the flu shot in the past.

That was the point I was trying to make.

HELLER " petit gris "
TonyK replied to happy grumpy's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Wow! Once again your weathering skills make this model finished the only way it should be. -
That is a real nice build. I've got all the cars from AMT and/or Aoshima but just haven't set aside the time for all the detail painting it needs. Always nice to see someone finish one of these.

Jimmy Flintstone 1954 Metro Van
TonyK replied to PatW's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Your weathering is excellent! An Oregon license plate? I got some of the same extras you mentioned when I got a Jimmy Flintstone product. The highlight was a bust of the Frankenstein monster. Had some fun painting it. -
Heller kits were never that great in my opinion. I do agree with your comment on the older Nascar kits but it seems that brief time of making these latest kits have come and gone already. I hope not but how long has it been since a new one has come out?

Except we've been getting models like this in the past and they sold just fine. I have no problem with this because building these represents a piece of history but maybe business decisions and modelers have changed their thoughts?

My wife always gives me a bad time because I don't use the backup camera. Spent my whole life using the inside and outside mirrors that it's still a habit. I do like the rear sensors when backing out of a parking space as they help you a lot.

Very nice diorama! Your pavement looks realistic and I like the fence. Drivers look good in the cars. Enjoyed looking at this.

1968 Lotus Turbine #70 Indy Car

Nice job on this and you pretty much have to use aftermarket tires as the ones in the kit are usually warped. What paint did you use? -
FUJIMI Ford GT 40 1966

Looks great! The blue and orange looks perfect. Very nice work! -
The car is great. The diorama is great. And doing it in 1/43rd scale is a challenge but you did it. Nice work!

Amazing how many people don't realize that the majority of gas we use is from right here in the USA. Then from Canada. We recently exported more than we imported so it always amuses me when the excuses tossed at us are something to do with the Middle East, etc. Not trying to start anything; just informing anyone who might not know.

AMT chevy 3100
TonyK replied to happy grumpy's topic in Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
Your models keep looking better as they keep looking worse if you know what I mean. This poor truck lived a life! Funny how some of us have fond memories of our first vehicles even though they may have been beaten up and troublesome. They had character. -
Static-X meets the Road Warrior? That was some weird "stuff".

That reminds me of The Bomber restaurant (B-17 sat above the gas station pumps) where some veterans would gather for breakfast and it was fun sitting at the table near them to hear war stories or just random stories of that time. You'd hear them refer to the enemy with names not accepted these days but I get it. That's how they referred to them during those times and they continue to do so. Not right but I get it. My first apartment was on the 2nd floor and I had to pass by the old guy living below. Big window right there at the parking lot so he could see me come home. He lived alone and I would be a nice guy sometimes when he'd invite me in and tell stories about the railroad as he was now retired. They were actually interesting.

Not into choppers very much but this looks really cool! The choice of paint would be right at home on a real one and I like your engine detail. Glad I clicked on this.

Placed an order with Hobby Search in Japan at the beginning of August. Never ordered anything from them before but reviews were good. I expected a long wait time and sure enough the tracking showed it left Japan right away and then nothing until October 20th when it arrived at Customs in New Jersey. October 25th the mailman shows up at my door with the package and wants a signature. Amazing service from Customs and USPS.
