I believe Power Slide is doing all of their decals.

Spaten Optimater and used to get it on tap at a German restaurant but haven't been able to import it for a few years. Don't know what happened. Any good dark beer is my favorite but can easily grab a 6 pack of Moose Drool or Longboard from Kona goes down pretty good.

Invisible Man by Moebius
TonyK replied to Fifer's topic in All The Rest: Motorcycles, Aviation, Military, Sci-Fi, Figures
Great detail painting. The model really captures the scene. Always enjoy looking at these type of models and amazed at the talent from the builder. One of my old favorite movies too. -
Salvino's '79 Olds. Paint is Tamiya TS 49 Bright Red and built out of the box. Not real impressed with the kit but the decals are great.

An old Lindberg model put out by Dirt Track Racers that is simple but fun to build. Added Big Donkey Resin rear wheels and tires, front wheels and tires from the parts box, and a few other things from the parts box to make it a little different from the previous ones I built.

A Replica Of My Vintage Race Car
TonyK replied to Miatatom's topic in Other Racing: Road Racing, Salt Flat Racers
Looks like a perfect replica to me. You should be proud of this. -
What non-auto model did you get today?
TonyK replied to chunkypeanutbutter's topic in The Off-Topic Lounge
Surprised we don't see the Red Bull Pylon Racing planes made by any model companies. Seems to be a popular spectator sport in the world and I would think they would sell well. I'd buy one anyway. -
The wife and I were just talking about this yesterday. People don't have the work ethic like it used to be. No one cares about doing a good job anymore. It's not in their DNA and it appears management doesn't care or have the ability to instill it into these workers. Used to be we all did a good job because it made things run smoother and we all fed off each other to do a good job because it affects all of us as a whole. Didn't matter if it was flipping burgers or making pizza or working in a warehouse we were all working together to feel like it was a job well done. Old guy rant over.

AMT '25 T Vintage NHRA Competition Coupe, First build of 2022!
TonyK replied to larman's topic in Drag Racing
I like it. Nice job and a good color. -
It is the way the decals are printed. Unlike the decals we get in a regular kit with all the colors forming a particular number or sponsor these are made separately so that we need to lay down the white, then lay the border or color on top. I'm using some decals from Circle Track right now that are just like what you described.

Favourite files and sprue cutters
TonyK replied to Steve H's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
Tamiya sprue cutters that I've had a while and think they're great. Old x-acto files that I need to replace and may get ideas from this subject. -
Just started mine also. I've read good things about the build so look forward to not having any problems. Won't be finishing it any time soon as I paint outside and gonna be too cold for that. (Not as cold as the outdoor hockey game last night in Minnesota!)

I don't understand why a man doesn't just lift the seat (you can use your foot) and go then. A wider target to shoot for without the seat there. I guess if you don't care, you don't care.

Rustoleum 2X spray paints
TonyK replied to Smoke Wagon's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use Rustoleum and Krylon and a Fred Meyer (Kroger) brand for chassis, interior, and other parts that don't need a perfect finish. Much cheaper route than Testors or Tamiya. I've had funky cans on occasion myself and it's very frustrating. I look forward to this list of color results to purchase other colors. -
So sorry to read this. You made me tear up. Great picture as it says a lot.

I enjoyed her whenever she was a guest on a show or talk show. Always seemed to be enjoying life. Glad she made it this far.

Good. Maybe Oregon deliveries are next. I like to read that the latest issue has been mailed out but then I'm expecting to see it in my mailbox every day and it's not there. As the wife always points out, I've got so much patience when it comes to building models but have none for anything else.

Looked up the news story. What could've been a routine call turns into this. Horrible and needless end to it all. Hard for me to fathom. So very sorry for the friends and family of these officers.

For real? That's nice!

Man, these look great! Always like the Super Stock class since they look like the regular passenger cars but racy. Your engines are a great addition to the already good looking model.
-
Great looking model! Whatever mistakes you made aren't noticeable.

What Did You Accomplish Today? (Model Car Work)
TonyK replied to Snake45's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I agree with you on the Tamiya kits. I've heard some people scoff at the price but I like to point out that you never need to check the fit of parts before gluing as they will ALWAYS fit. The instructions give you info on lots of detail painting which can be time consuming but that only adds to the finished model. Tamiya paints are excellent for me too as I'm not that good and they make me look like a better painter. -
Not unexpected but a small amount started up here (Portland metro area) yesterday and continues today. Just enough to make things pretty.

Been a few years since I've watched it but always a good one to see again. As you pointed out, lots of good actors and don't get tired of watching the aircraft and a great piece of history.

Brudda, those engines are amazing! Sorry for your torture but just know that your work is being enjoyed by me and I'm sure many others. Keep going!
