  1. I got the interior parts of the Vette painted Krylon Saddle Tan today, with matte topcoat, and laid the undercoats on the side marker lights (orange front and red rear). Tomorrow they'll get the amber and stoplight red treatment. Got the tire treads sanded, now need to detail the Rally Wheels. Body foilwork still to do.
  2. Very sharp, very clean! Well done and model on!
  3. Yeah--one I remember was named Alonzo something--Bowden, maybe? I remember he rode some kind of trick badass motorcycle that might have had a Corvair engine in it.
  4. That's the whole point of the BOYD builds! Drive on! GITTER DONE!
  5. I'm looking forward to seeing more of him. Now that I think about it, I think maybe I've seen him before. Was he on Last Comic Standing, maybe? ETA: Just checked and he in fact won Last Comic Standing in 2006. Good for him! Back in, I think, the '80s there was a girl comedian with CP named Geri Jewell. She eventually got a recurring role on HBO's Deadwood. My favorite joke of hers was, "When people meet me, sometimes they say 'What the hell's wrong with you?' And I say, 'I've got cerebral palsy, whatta you got?' And nine times out of ten, they've got something!" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geri_Jewell
  6. I just finished the body polish-out on my '70 Vette. Now all I have to do is paint the interior, and then detail the body, wheels, grille, taillights....
  7. Congratulations, Dave, you're our FOURTH COMPLETION this round! GOTTER DONE and quite nicely, too! Got you down for the Bad Medicine and good luck getting it done this weekend.
  8. I've been using steam to unwarp styrene with some success. Latest try was the "caved-in" roof of a Monogram 1/24 '65 Corvette. Was trying to get just a touch of convex on the upper line of the windshield. Didn't quite make it but I did get it straight across--definitely better than the concave line I started with.
  9. Thanks for all the input and ideas, fellas! Much appreciated! I don't have a 2G Trans Am or a Foose 56 Ford in the stash. Good ideas, though. Interesting possibility. I have quite a few in the stash, but none of them high on the Build List. Don't I know it! Near as I can figure, I went looking for it maybe when I was doing the '69 Firebird diecast that I ended up painting flat black, or possibly the glue bomb AMT '70 Challenger I rehabbed and painted the Rustoleum Cobalt Blue metallic. Only late Challenger I have is a prepainted (Hemi Orange) that's staying that way. But you're getting me thinking. I've got two glue bomb Monogram TA Challengers to be rescued. One will be in the polished metallic red plastic, but the metallic charcoal might look good on the other one. I also recently got a smokin' deal on an unbuilt AMT '68 Road Runner kit that I was thinking to do as some kind of '70s Day Two street goon. It could look good on that! Hmmmmmmm..... Thanks again for the suggestions!
  10. Couple years ago I bought at Walmart can of Rustoleum Charcoal Gray Metallic paint. (Looks like the only other color in this line is the Cobalt Blue, with which I've done a couple decent paint jobs.) Wanted it for a particular diecast I'm gonna get around to SOMEDAY. Now, sometime, in the last six months or so, I was working on something else that I thought that metallic gray would have been perfect for, so I went looking for my can of it, and couldn't find it anywhere. And Walmart didn't have the paint (of course). But I can't remember what that project was--whether I pressed on with some other color, or shelved the whole thing. So Walmart had the paint again this week so I got a new can. Now I can't remember what I wanted to use it on (except for that diecast, which isn't on my immediate build schedule)! What would look good in a metallic dark gray? Only thing I can think of offhand might be a Dodge Stealth. Any other ideas?
  11. I'm about to have one of my best eBay experiences, or one of my worst. Just for grins, was checking out an old model airplane kit I had as a kid. Found several complete unbuilt kits in the $80-$100 range. Now, there are now several superior kits of this airplane in this scale available for MUCH less than that, so wasn't interested in those at all. But I scrolled down and there sat one for $32 Buy It Now. Here's the thing: Only ONE picture, of the box, which looked to be in nice shape. Very little copy/text; said complete kit but the whole thing smelled like an "empty box" deal to me. So I message the seller asking if it's a complete kit or just the box, and shortly he messaged back, in its entirety, "Complete kit." So I hit the Buy It Now button. I guess sometime next week I'll find out if I got a hella deal or learned some kind of $40 lesson (including shipping).
  12. Relax, that's a real thing--evidently a whole lot of women really enjoy real murder/true crime porn for some unknown reason. If Oprah herself ever decides to host a true crime show, the other networks might as well shut their doors.
  13. This guy made me smile. LOL, actually, a couple times. What a great spirit! And I smiled at this, too:
  14. Wow, what a clean, beautiful build! More please--I'll gladly look at anything else you want to show us. Well done and model on!
  15. I watched the first two seasons of that on Fox. I enjoyed it, and called it "Castle if Castle were Satan." I wish I could watch NYPD Blue again, especially the last two or three seasons. Every time that show would lose its star, I'd think, "Well, now it's gonna suck," and then the new guy would come on and he'd turn out to be amazing and then he'd leave and the cycle would repeat. And it just kept getting better and better and better. But it's on HULU now and I don't subscribe to that and won't.
  16. Just watched "Definitely Miami," the Ted Nugent episode. It was awful--so bad even Uncle Ted couldn't save it. Just started "Back in the World," the first (of two) episode with G.Gordon Liddy. Gonna watch both those, then the Willie Nelson episode, then the Zappa one.
  17. Got one of these, and from these people. Got an email from them offering me $20 off my first purchase, turns out they have free shipping on orders over $150, and they already discount the thing $30.00. My total price including my hideous state sales tax was about $193, good deal, and I plan to have at least that much fun with it. Haven't shot it yet, might try it Friday. Maybe I'll make some of those little red star targets (remember those? NO CUTTING!) and turn my basement into a carnival midway, HAHAHAHAAHHA! https://www.airgundepot.com/umarex-legends-mp-bb-submachine-gun.html
  18. Only network "drama" I'm currently watching is The Blacklist, which has its season finale tonight. Only other network show I'm watching now is America's Got Talent. Their seasons are over now, but I was watching Big Sky, The Rookie, Debris, Manifest, and Shark Tank. Most of what I watch is on Discovery or History on cable. My favorites right now are Street Outlaws America's List, Secret of the Skinwalker Ranch, Forged in Fire, Mountain Men and whatever gold mining show is on Discovery on Friday night. As far as older TV, I watch some of that on streaming. Just finished House of Cards and started Longmire. Couple months ago I re-watched all 40+ episodes of Crime Story. Just found out I can stream Miami Vice. Don't want to watch them all, but I'd like to go back and see the episodes with Ted Nugent and Willy Nelson again, and maybe the one with Frank Zappa.
  19. I ordered another new airgun on Friday, got it yesterday (Tuesday). Can't beat that, especially since shipping was free.
  20. Have heard a lot of buzz about the John Wick movies, so when I found them on free streaming (USA network), sat through all three of them. Probably the best bad movies I've ever seen. I've said that the Bourne movies are basically a live action Road Runner cartoon. The Wick movies are basically a live action Tom & Jerry (or Itchy & Scratchy) cartoon with guns. Lots of guns. And what a tragic waste of a '69 Mustang. They probably wasted more than one, even sadder. Your time would be better spent watching the Youtube videos of Keanu shooting real guns, which he got pretty good at in preparation for the movies. Halle Barry, too.
  21. You have to have an account to do this, sorry.
  22. Search just as you would for a '59 Buick model. When the search comes up, go to the left side of the screen, scroll down, and check the box for "Completed Auctions." It will show all sales in the last 90 days.
  23. Very clean, very sharp! Model on!
  24. Dunno. He was invited to Mega Cash Days. But I'm wondering if Cantu will be invited back for next year's running of America's List (I'm HOPING there will be a next year)? Jerry Bird is coming across as a Major Whinebaby, too. Pretty much the exact opposite of JJ, who, win, lose, or break, takes it all in stride and just looks forward to the next race, whatever it is and whoever it's with.
  25. He deserves a place in the Street Race Hall of Shame right next to Larry Larson.
