  1. I wouldn't do anything until they contacted me about it. If they're THAT disorganized, trying to "correct" the problem will probably just make matters much, much worse.
  2. Congratulations, Tom, on COMPLETION SEVEN! GOTTER DONE! Moving on to Round 12, if there is to be one (remember, we need 8 participants to commit before it's officially on): ROUND 12: FINISH DATE SEPTEMBER 30, 2021 Dave Branson: Monogram Bad Medicine FIRST COMPLETION GOTTER DONE! Moving on to Honda S2000 Tim J: Project to be declared Tom Geiger: Project to be declared Who else is in to GITTER DONE?
  3. The item arrived today, and if you think just ordering it Pleased Me, you should have seen me smile today! I almost hugged the FedEx guy!
  4. Wow, that's a hella score! Congratulations!
  5. Me neither, it just has no appeal to me, and IMHO the colors offered aren't particularly attractive.
  6. I chewed my way through all 7 seasons of House of Cards. What a ride! Dunno if it's always been there, but a couple months ago I discovered you can jack up the speed on Netflix to 1.25 or 1.5 times. This is a wonderful feature and I wish all the streaming services had it!
  7. That would explain why the digger in the other lane appears to be 2-3 years newer than the Mooneyes Dragmaster.
  8. They're going to do that again? With the various team vs team elimination action? Oh yah, that's cool too! Street Outlaws Memphis starts a new season in 2 weeks. I need to find SOMETHING to watch next Monday night! Monday night is street race night and stupid sharks just don't cut it!
  9. Cool, Scott! JJ has brought his traveling circus to a venue not far from me in the past. Next time he does, I'm there. Back to the show: (Will try not to give TOO much away.) Well, it's over. Happy to see who ended up at #1 but not necessarily proud of how he got there. Couple other people I can think of didn't seem all that pleased about it, either. Ryan Martin had one of the best runs of the series, rising seven places. I say "one of" because it turns out that Tricia also climbed seven places, from #15 to #8. Tricia was definitely the "Queen of the Street," the only woman in the Top Ten and the only woman who didn't go down the list. There will apparently be a Season 2. I wonder if they will pick up the List where it stands now, or do a shake-up and start from scratch? The Callout Game got to be silly. They need to refine this in some way. They need to do something to keep the same races from happening over and over. There were several pairs who ended up having to race each other four or five times. Neither of them got to move up while this was going on, and no one got to go around them. I thoroughly enjoyed almost every single minute of the whole season. Get right, Street Outlaws!
  10. Maybe I've been lucky but last time I counted, I think I've done around 50 of them--10 of them my teenage builds, the rest bought off eBay, flea markets, and the monthly local toy show. And I've got at least two dozen more in the Snakepit waiting for their turn. (One's on the bench even as we speak.)
  11. I'm not really interested in that (swapping), but I was thinking of starting a "Rescue a Glue Bomb" group build. The key word here is "rescue"--not a complete rebuild, but some quick, easy, FUN upgrades/improvements that could be accomplished in, say, 3 to 12 hours of work. It would be like the BOYD build but would be an ongoing thing, running every 30 days--i.e., starts on the first of each month and you have till the last day of the month to GITTER RESCUED. Think there would be any interested in something like that?
  12. Not saying it definitely wasn't, but I'm kinda doubting you saw Kermit Weeks' B-26. AFAIK it hasn't been flown in several years, and I don't think Kermit would put invasion stripes on it, as it's a much earlier version that they wouldn't be appropriate for. And I don't know of any other flying B-26s right now (but I would love to be proved wrong!). My guess is that you saw a B-25 Mitchell, a Douglas A-26 Invader, or maybe even a C-47. There are quite a few of each still flying, some with invasion stripes (even though they're not correct for a US B-25). Was the rest of the airplane bare metal, or olive drab and gray, or perhaps some kind of camo scheme? I'll do some looking around and see what I can find out about what you saw. ETA: Did some googling and turns out a C-47 (with invasion stripes!) from Titusville was flying yesterday. Google-image "C-47 Tico Belle" and see if that looks like what you saw. https://spacecoastdaily.com/2021/07/city-of-melbourne-to-host-4th-of-july-fireworks-at-front-street-park-watch-it-live-on-space-coast-daily-tv/
  13. Hella deal! My '55 came out of box of "random parts" I bought at a flea market for $42--and the vendor wouldn't budge on the price. When I got it home and sorted it all out, it turned out to be nearly all the parts to 14 complete models, hence the price--$3 each. So far I've only "rescued" one (a '32 Vicky), traded one off (an MPC '76 or '77 Vette) and there are three or four I'm not interested in working on at all, but there are at least five or six other interesting projects in there, including the '55.
  14. Very cool old Mono '55! Do you have the hood? If so, clean it up and leave it alone. I came into one of these a couple years ago and I'm just gonna clean it up, polish the lovely turquoise plastic, put it back together and let it stand as a time capsule. I'll probably take off the decals (and the fender skirts if they'll come off without damage) and do the body chrome with a Molotow or Silver Sharpie.
  15. OMG don't rebuild that thing, it's ALMOST perfect now! All I'd do to it at this point would be re-chrome the bumpers with Krylon Foil (would probably just lose the front bumper altogether) and then touch up the rest of the chrome trim with Molotow and/or Silver Sharpie. What a fantastic time capsule! If you want a "show quality gasser," start with a new kit. And IMHO you'd be better off starting with the "new" Revell '56 Del Ray, a MUCH better kit in every way.
  16. Finally got to see Get Out (on FXX). An original and genuinely creepy movie--I liked it a lot. Also saw No Sudden Move on HBO/MAX. Pretty good and a bit offbeat, reminded me at some points of Tarantino and/or Cohen Brothers stuff. Don't waste your brainpower trying to figure out what it's about, they don't get around to telling you until the very end. Just enjoy the ride of whatever's going on on the screen at the moment.
  17. I can't watch Lucy reruns--they're just stupid to me now. Dick Van Dyke is one of only two shows from that era that, to me, "stands up" and is still funny, the other being Andy Griffith. A local UHF station runs two Seinfeld episodes every night. If there's nothing else on, I watch them, probably see 3 or 4 a week. These too "stand up" and are still hilarious. Each episode is like a brilliantly constructed Rube Goldberg machine of comedy.
  18. I've used that once or twice, but only on (relatively) large and flat areas, typically rocker panel trim. I have used a good deal of cheap/generic kitchen foil with Micro Metal Foil Adhesive, which works great and will do about 95% of anything BMF will at a fraction of the cost.
  19. 1. Shouldn't be a big problem with your candy green. Red plastic can sometimes show through light paints like white, light yellow, or even light blues. Better yet, hit it with a gray primer, then your white primer, then your candy base (silver or gold), then your candy green. 2. Tamiya makes a matte or semigloss black. Just get that. Matter of fact, it looks like you HAVE their semi-gloss black in the pic. Also, note that your NATO Black isn't really a true black, it's more of an extremely dark gray. 3. Entirely up to you. Personally, I don't waste a lot of time (with most builds) on chassis, interiors, or underhood areas and in many builds I don't even put the engine in. Some I do, some I don't. I mainly concentrate on bodywork, paint finish, and trim and detail, but this is YOUR hobby and YOUR model and you should always pursue it in a way that makes YOU happy.
  20. I was thinking exactly the same thing.
  21. Here's more on the Krylon Foil paint:
  22. It's not in the model aisle, it's over in the paint section with the rest of the Krylons.
  23. You're putting FAR more skill and effort into this kit than it deserves (IMHO, of course), but there's no denying you're wrestling it to the ground and making it your Joy Behar. You are inspiring me to dig mine out and slap it together, which is about as high a compliment as I can pay. Drive on!
  24. Now that you mention it, I think I did pay $10 for my C8 and Walmart.
  25. Maybe it will happen "in the future," but I'll probably be long dead before then, Thank The Lord. (And I bet I'm not alone in that, either.)
