  1. Only sale thing mine had today was the Prowler kit, and they still had several of those. No paints on sale.
  2. My old wagon will be ready to race whenever you're finished.
  3. Looks like a great GITTER DONE project, Tom! Drive on!
  4. V8 swaps were popular--so popular the factory made the V8 available in '64. If you were set on a V8 '63 drag racer, you could always do it as a Modified Production.
  5. In the early '80s, I was working with a guy who would buy 100 shares of Chrysler stock every month. It was selling in the 3s at that time and I think he even bought some at UNDER $3 a share. I laughed at him at the time. Not laughing today. I WISH I'd followed suit. I could have retired years ago.
  6. Took a look at a couple pics of this last night and WOW, it's like a game of "Find 25 differences between the model and the real car." If this shows up at Walmart for $20, I'll buy one, but I'm not ordering one at Full Metal Retail. Even then, it would take a good deal of work to turn it into a somewhat decent "street legal tribute" car. Looks like they didn't want to pay the licensing fee to Sunoco. Look what's written on the quarters.
  7. Me too. The RS front end always looked to me like a Jaguar sedan. Pontiac did a MUCH better job with the whole front end of this car.
  8. '70 and '72-'74 buckets aren't the same, though the '70s would be a huge improvement over what's in the '74 kit boxes.
  9. I saw it yesterday and it is. Today I can't see it either.
  10. So here's where we are for the possible ROUND 4: Prostreeter69: Pro Street Bronco Bobthehobbyguy: ’32 Ford 5-window Dave Branson: '70 Trans Am Tom Geiger: '50 Ford Truck, 57 Nomad SamIAm: '56 Chevy NAFAW9: HO scale Freightliner #1 Model Citizen: '49 Ford Tudor (Need to post start pic for “official” entry) Disconovaman: “Definitely in” but needs to declare project and post start pic for “official” entry Straightliner59: Possibly in with black race car (not official yet) ...So we have nine interested but only six "officially" declared and entered. As always, we need eight, and then I jump in for #9 and it's Game On. So, anyone else got something waiting on the Shelf of Doom that you can GITTER DONE?
  11. The Trumpeter is billed as 1/25. Haven't measured it, so can't really say. Here's a fairly nice 1/24 '64 you can have on your shelf for about $20 and a couple hours of Snake-Fu.
  12. I love separate bottles and have them by the dozens. My original old Badger 200 came with a metal bottle cap that screws right onto Testor Model Master bottles and I have been using that thing for almost 50 years now. Hobby Lobby is now selling sets of 6 of these bottles for a VERY reasonable price. If you can't find a Paasche cap that fits this bottle, it might be worth making one by removing the fixture from whatever you can get and mounting it on a Model Master bottle.
  13. That's about right. Most of the Jr. Stockers seemed to run very tall, thin front tires, too, which also raised them a bit legally. BTW, I chased this kit too unsuccessfully for a couple years, and was finally able to score a convertible at a fairly reasonable price. Last year I bought a MCW 2DS body for it and am looking forward to building it as a '60s "high school hot rod." One problem is that the MCW transkit doesn't include any glass--they assume you're starting with a HT kit and I guess the glass from that would fit. I'll have to come up with some kind of back window for the thing.
  14. If you're building a drag Jr. Stocker, the high ride height might work for you. Many of these things seemed to sit as high as legally permissible back in the day.
  15. IMHO, that would be redundant.
  16. His superpower is skillfully manipulating the box so that the light glare prevents you from seeing anything you might actually be interested in seeing.
  17. Haven't seen that one, but I have two other M2 Camaros and they're pretty nice. I'd buy one of these if the price were right. Are decals available? I know Fred Cady used to have them but good luck finding a set. White stripes would be easy enough to remove.
  18. I'm constantly on the lookout for the stuff. I cut out and stash all suitably sized pieces of vacformed or "bubble" plastic packaging for cakes, foods, and all sorts of consumer goods. I score a nice piece of the stuff at least once a month. Keep your eyes open and you're sure to find it, too.
  19. I'd be up for that!
  20. They just ain't right. Nice Missile model, BTW. Sweet! I was planning on making my own buckets, but I'll look at both those possible options. Thanks!
  21. Sweet! These '60s-style customs seem to be making a comeback lately. I'm looking forward to doing a few of them myself sometime soon. Special respect to you for correctly "inside hinging" the door instead of the more commonly seen and incorrect "outside hinges." Well done and model on!
  22. I'm with you, Tom. The other day Tim Boyd started a thread on all of his way-cool roadster pickup rods. Within hours it had been banished down to the truck stop side of town, where it won't get half the views it deserves.
