  1. Prince's Little Red Corvette!
  2. And the Beech 18 (flown by Frank Tallman).
  3. Revell does a snapper that could be done like that, except it has a full hood and no engine. You could combine the body with one of the old AMT '34s for frame and engine detail, though, I'd think.
  4. I have a vague recollection of that being used in a commercial in the '70s or '80s. In fact I think just NOW is the first time I've ever heard the whole song.
  5. The Custom Interior would have been a correct option for a COPO 9561 Camaro. You could order one with just about any regular Camaro options, up to and including Rally Sport (powertrain permitting, of course).
  6. I was just reading a road test of the Challenger TA in an original 1970 magazine and these are exactly the sizes quoted there.
  7. I really like this! Very well done!
  8. Very nice indeed!
  9. I believe that kit already has the best chassis available for any '64-'68 Mustang. But what do you mean by a "drag chassis?" If you want to build something like a gasser, altered, or funnycar, you might want to look at the recently reissued Malco Gasser, or one of the many funnycar kits.
  10. Rally Wheels would be a correct option for any COPO 9561 (L72 427) Camaro. In fact, all the Yenkos would have been delivered with them as the 15" Rallys were a part of COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion Package which all Yenkos also had in addition to being COPO 9561s. If you can find some decent tires to put on those 1/12 Rally Wheels, you're good to go. (Lack of decent tires is what's kept me from building all three of those kits for over 20 years now.)
  11. Found an original AMT '75 Corvette roadster on eBay. I'm HOPING the hood and front valence will fit the cherry AMT '73 coupe body I scored in a Vette Junkyard a couple years ago, which is missing those two vital items. If they're not direct bolt-on, I'll have to find a way to make 'em work. I really want a '73 Vette on the shelf (only year with the rubber front bumper but the original flat rear end with chrome bumpers--very cool looking).
  12. Deep Purple, Highway Star. Killer tune! That's a GREAT Album!
  13. I was just looking at a complete Corvair front suspension in an old R&C magazine. I think if you really wanted to, you could convincingly fake it with parts (A-arms, shocks, springs) from a first-gen Camaro, such as the Revell '69. Just an idea for you.
  14. Agree. My main gripe with these kits is that the wheelbase is TOO short. Sometime soon I hope to add about 6 scale inches or so back into the wheelbase of one of the Chevy IIs, and take pics of the process. If that works, I'll also do it on a glue bomb Chevelle I want to try to restore.
  15. I think they look fine. If you don't like the sheen (or lack thereof--hard to tell from the photos), you could hit them with a coat of clear semigloss. If you do that, do the rest of the plastic in the interior the same way. I wouldn't put any kind of "wash" on them.
  16. I could make that happen for you. All I'd have to do is put a buttload of time and work into finishing the Revell AAR Cuda body I started correcting about four years ago. About five minutes after I finish the model, Revell will announce a new AAR. PM me for the address where to send checks/bribes.
  17. Aerosmith, Don't Wanna Miss a Thing? Sting?
  18. One suggestion I'd make is, instead of drawing the gun, find a picture of the gun you want on the internet (profile), download it, size it to 1/25, print it out, and rubber-cement it to the styrene. That will give you a much more accurate profile. It might be easier to make trigger guards out of paper. Glue it on, paint it, no one will know the difference. Hey, that styrene looks familiar! ETA: Now you've got me thinking about making a Johnson rifle. (A friend's dad had one when I was a kid. You could get them then, but not Garands. Today Johnsons are worth THOUSANDS of dollars.)
  19. I cheated and googled it. Would never have gotten it. Saw it under the names of at least three different artists. Didn't bother to see which was the original. I don't know if I've ever heard it--maybe, maybe not.
  20. Don't know it but you can sing it to Tales of Brave Ulysses by Cream. Is it from that?
  21. I just rebuilt one of those frames from an old glue bomb and I feel your pain. Took me quite a bit of superglue but I finally got it all together, more or less. I think working with a cherry kit would be much easier, now that I know how everything is supposed to fit. The whole design/engineering is actually quite clever, if a bit fidgety. Here's my build thread. Some of the photos might or might not be of any help. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=93734
  22. Most of my favorites were built between the '66 and '69 model years, though I like a few a couple years either side of that range, too ('64 to '72). I like the GM cars in particular and Chevies especially but there are also quite a few Ford, Mopar, and AMC cars of that era that I really like.
  23. 3. Make new springs out of sheet styrene.
  24. Wow, I can think of two different ways to fix that in less than 15 minutes.
  25. Very nice, everyone! I too love these kits and while I don't have one of them presentable at the moment, I hope to build several in the foreseeable future.
