If no one was aware, Rustoleum/Zinsser produces Zinsser 408 Bulls Eye Clear Shellac Spray. The surface doesn't require priming before application. -

Chrome Plating Resin Parts?
SfanGoch replied to crowe-t's topic in Car Aftermarket / Resin / 3D Printed
Jim, I have an Acer laptop which only has two USB ports and no optical drive, which I found odd. My stupid mistake when I bought it. I confused it with another laptop I saw. It was an open box special with no exchange or return. I'm looking to get a new Canon T5i and I could d/l from the old SD card using it. -
Jaguar Paints by Revell
SfanGoch replied to modelercarl's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
For future reference, you can order Revell Email (enamel) and Aqua Color (acrylic) paints from Hobbylinc which is located in Georgia. -
Considering that the OP is asking about the potential value of the models, I doubt he has any interest in any trades.

Removing Larger Glued Parts
SfanGoch replied to TransAmMike's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
If you use the scribers, no cutting involved. Wait until you get then and don't be hasty to remove the parts using other methods which might cause damage. UMM-USA carries them. They're out of stock at the moment. You can contact the owner, John Vojtech, via the "Contact Us" page and ask him when will the items be restocked. Mr. Vojtech is a very personable and knowledgeable toolmaker/master modeler. -
Removing Larger Glued Parts
SfanGoch replied to TransAmMike's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
I use HQT Tools stainless scribers and saws. Both have a .3mm kerf and you can get right to where the parts are joined to separate them without damaging the body and only minimal cleanup up the area required. Far better than using the back of a #11 blade. -
AMX promos sell for $100+ regularly.

Micro-Mark is good. I have a 12 year old Brother MFC-5890CN and have printed unit markings and stencils for 1/72 B-58, 1/48 B-58 and SR-71 kits without any problems.

The Ultimate Fire truck model in 1/24th scale
SfanGoch replied to GLMFAA1's topic in Truck Kit News & Reviews
It reminds me of a Hess firetruck. It's overpriced by 1600 bucks. My son's old Bruder trucks are more realistic. -

You don't get out of the basement often, do you? Brett Green isn't a "u tuber". He's the editor of HyperScale, an online model magazine established in 1998, and a highly respected aviation modeller. You must have the attention span of a goldfish if you get antsy watching a six minute video. -
Good news for a change...
SfanGoch replied to tim boyd's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I've been a fan since I first saw them at CBGB in '76. Tickets cost $3.50. A bottle of Rolling Rock was a buck. Pete Zaremba lives in the neighborhood. Last time I saw The Fleshtones was in February 2002 when they played at Warsaw in Greenpoint. "Destination Greenpoint" was debuted at that show. They were supposed to play at Warsaw last year. Covid squashed that. -
Good news for a change...
SfanGoch replied to tim boyd's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
No thanks. I don't go out of my way traveling out of the city to get models. I'm not crazy about coughing up $30+ in bridge and/or tunnel tolls. -
I saw them three times. First time was at Nassau Coliseum on June 17, 1975 for the "Wish You Were Here" tour. In '77, my friends and I saw them twice, July 1 and July 4, at Madison Square Garden for the "Animals" tour. Lots of 'cid, man. BTW, the summer of '77 was the greatest concert season ever.

I'll raise you. I live in the largest city in this here country and the last friggin' hobby shop in Manhattan, Jan's Hobby Shop on the Upper East Side, closed in September after the owner, known as Madame Collette Hutchins by everyone in the neighborhood, died during the summer. The only place that sells model kits anywhere in the five boroughs is Rudy's Hobby & Art located in the Astoria section of Queens. Most of the kits are 25+ years old. He also sells model trains and religious items. Gong to Rudy's gives me a good excuse to hit the Bohemian Beer Hall a couple blocks away. Fee-Fi, Fo-Fum, Hic! -
