  1. Mature......right. Anything stronger than "darn" freaks people out.
  2. Tape a No. 4 coffee filter to your face. They're just as effective, according to Johns Hopkins.
  3. I never had a lay teacher until I went to high school. The nuns pictured below were members of the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth and were my teachers from 1966-73. They changed to the more casual habits in 1969. They were less cumbersome and allowed the sisters ability to put more energy in their follow through when they swung the "Board of Education". This photo was the inspiration for the "Meeting of the Families" scene in the Godfather.
  4. The '60 Impala was initially released in 1998 by Revellogram. It was last issued in 2009 as part of the Revell California Wheels series. Why would you think that Revell got rid of the tooling?
  5. Find the same/similar color in a bottle. Lot easier. It's nearly impossible to obtain the same consistency of brushable paint from decanted rattle can contents.
  6. It's a short ride for the Bratva from Brighton Beach to upstate. They're easy to recognize. Four big stupid bullymen with shaved heads wearing borscht-stained track suits crammed into a Mercedes. They don't knock on doors.
  7. Just noticed that. Pressed "5" instead of "2".
  8. Bill Mitchell already thought of that. The 1963 Riviera Convertible Prototype That (Sadly) Wasn’t Built
  9. You're in luck! This guy happens to one available for $159 plus shipping. It's missing the front and rear panels, both sleeves and crew neck reinforcement.
  10. It's eco-friendly. Look at all of the trees.
  11. If you like this, check out the Johan '67 Caddy he's hawking.
  12. Submitted for your perusal, a Johan 1967 Ambassador. “The kit is missing many parts, including body frame suspension ,engine tires, etc. Instructions included." This beauty can be yours for a paltry 89 bucks. Hurry! This is a once-in-a-lifetime offer!
  13. Eight already: 1. Dan Reeves 2. Sidney Poitier 3. Peter Bogdanovich 4. Bob Saget 5. Ronnie Spector 6. Meat Loaf 7. Louie Anderson 8. Joan Copeland (playright Arthur Miller's younger sister) It's doesn't matter if some don't consider some these people as "celebrities". They all were notable.
  14. Interesting and a great method, Lin.
  15. To each, his own. Unlike Tamiy putty, the resin provides structural strength when cured.
  16. You can use 405nm LCD UV-Curing Photopolymer Resin, used in SLA 3d printers as a gap/ seam filler. Somebody at one of the a/c modeling sites (I forgot which one. I stupidly didn't save the page) uses this to fill gaps at the wing/fuselage joints and to fill seams along the fuselage. Since it's a liquid, just apply it with a toothpick. paintbrush or small dowel along the seam/gap. Cure it using one of those penlight UV lights (375-405 nm). Once cured, it's easily sandable and feathers nicely. To fill ejector pin marks, apply enough so it surrounds the pin mark and slightly overfills it. When sanded, you're left with a perfectly smooth surface. It's a lot neater than using putty. Black resin is recommended because it contrasts with the styrene. It's slightly translucent which allows you to see the seam/gap/ejector pin mark while sanding. This technique can be used to fill in sink marks on bodies and damage caused by removing unwanted custom parts on rare builtups you might pick up for restoration to stock. Elgoo Regular or Plant-Based UV Resin, Anycubic or Voxelab are all good and inexpensive.
  17. That Crown Vic is painted in Berkshire Green (Code V, Ditzler PPG 41979) and Colonial White (Code E, Ditzler PPG 8103).
  18. The best reference resource about modelling the 1/48 Lunar Module & CSM. Click on THIS link.
  19. It still doesn't sound like a viable alternative. Cheap bargain brand aluminum foil and Microscale foil adhesive is a better alternative in a pinch.
  20. Spraying dullcoat won't turn the weathering powder into a mess. What I wrote was that the powders will absorb the clear, causing them to darken and look like a thin coat of flat paint. These weathering powders aren't meant to be handled after application because, being a powder, they will come off and you'll end up with fingerprints where they were applied.
  21. Sounds like you're describing a Pop Tarts wrapper backed with contact adhesive.
  22. Every gasthaus I've been to in Germany, and bars in other parts of Europe from which I wasn't banned, had cold beer in bottles and from the tap. On a hot day, a Radler (half pilsner, half lemon lime soda like 7-Up with some ice in a liter beer mug) is good.
  23. German Gasthäuser have what's called a Bierwärmer to warm beer. It looks like the handle of a potato masher grenade. The cylinder is filled with warm water and is immersed in a beer mug. I saw many oldtimers sitting at the stammtisch preferring to drink their beer warmed in this manner. Personally, I lost my taste for warm beer after quaffing too many room temperature cases of Piels, Rheingold and Schaefer during my misspent youth.
  24. You haven't looked hard enough, Rich. I get mine from Widget Supply. The blades from Germany are really good.
