  1. This is the alleged "Off-Topic Lounge", where topics other than building toys are supposed to be posted, that's why.
  2. How about just posting a television test pattern in lieu of any possible topics? Every time an interesting and intellectually stimulating subject is posted and begins to be enthusiastically discussed, the hall monitors either lock it or "disappear" it because they don't think that the members are intelligent enough to comprehend the content and comment in a civil manner. "They" seem to feel that members are only capable of posting and discussing dumbed down floof which requires no thinking on either the poster's or reader's part. Whether you want to hear it or not, this puts a drag on the entire forum.
  3. You never know. He's not so good with directions. You might luck out and he ends up in Passaic, N.J.
  4. If the hinge is too long, you can trim its length.
  5. Aber makes two sets of workable PE hinges, 35 A025 This set requires a 0.3mm wire to make the hinges workable. and 35 A039. Both sets are 1/35; however, they work fine with 1/24-1/25 cars and trucks. 35 A039 is easier to assemble because the female hinge sections have, for lack of a better term, the connecting wire etched as an integral part. Just slip the tabs from one set of hinges under and through the openings and fold the tab over the wire. I've used these hinges on a variety of car models with no problems. They can be installed as exterior, joining the two edges, or hidden with just the knuckles exposed between the door and fender.
  6. Wrong. That is a myth. Myth Vs. Fact: Daylight Saving Time and Farming
  7. I'm fairly shallow. First thing to cross my mind was
  8. Yeah, that kind of stuff isn't allowed.
  9. Because that is logical. Logic isn't a requirement for an empty suit in an empty chair bureaucrat.
  10. It's been around for a loooooong time. Daylight Savings Time
  11. Back in '77, I got into a fistfight with the shill on the corner of Sixth and W. 44th. He wouldn't let me walk away with the double sawbuck they let me win. They were banking that I was greedy and would keep playing.
  12. Internet Hobbies; track record for actually delivering purchases was/is extremely sporadic. You'd make out better playing Three-card Monte.
  13. Gator.
  14. The AMT Kat made his first appearance in an AMT ad in DC Comics' Green Lantern #39, September 1965. His last appearance was in December 1966 in The Flash #66. AMT also stopped advertising in DC comics at that time. The small Kat figures were included in the Trophy Series kits from '65 through '66.
  15. Aside from a 1" plastic figure and keychain available in the mid '60s, this resin bobblehead is the first and only figure ever released. Hmmm..... "AMT Kat vs. Rat Fink" could be made into a movie.
  16. Being a long suffering Mets fan, I couldn't agree more.
  17. It's the only true chrome paint available. I've used Alclad, Model Master Metalizers, etc. and hands down, IMO, it's the best product for cheating a realistic chrome finish.
  18. I know. It also works on gray and white gloss bases. Additionally, I've experimented applying it over various gloss bases for different effects.
  19. The reality is that there haven't been two separate leagues since the positions of AL and NL presidents were abolished and interleague play started in 1997. Interleague play did away with that illusion.
  20. From 1901 through 1960, there were eight teams in each league. League rivals played each other 22 times. The length of the season was 154 games until 1961, when the AL season was expanded to 162 games. Additionally, the AL expanded to 10 teams. The NL still played a 154 game season in 1961, expanding to 10 teams and playing 162 games in the 1962 season. Fun fact: The first known photograph of someone giving the middle finger was of pitcher Charles "Old Hoss" Radbourn of the Boston Beaneaters. "Old Hoss" was captured flipping the bird in a team photo taken on April 29, 1886. Hoss is in the back row, far left. While pitching for the Providence Grays in 1884, Old Hoss started 73 starts, had 73 complete games, pitched 678.2 innings, had 441 strikeouts and an ERA of 1.38. Oh, he also went 60-12, most wins ever in a single season. 1884. incidentally, was the first season pitchers (NL only. Other leagues kept the ban on overhand pitches.) threw overhand. Today's sissyman pitchers think it's a major accomplishment to last six innings.
  21. Alsa Corp's Easy Chrome is expensive; however, it is the most durable chrome finish available. It's used to fix automotive chrome, including rims. Easy Chrome is applied over a clear base coat. It doesn't rub off or dull from handling, fingerprints can be wiped off without damaging the finish and it doesn't require a top coat when used on model parts.
