I've experienced three major blackouts in New York City: 1965, 1977 and 2003. What happened during July 13/14, 177 was pure hell. The entire Bushwick section of Brooklyn was destroyed. Arsonists setting fire to buildings and the unchecked looting which occurred. It took almost 30 years for the devastated neighborhood to be rebuilt. There are still large areas which are still wastelands. At one time, looters were shot, no questions asked. Too bad that society has developed a social conscience.

Ach! Luddites all! You wanted an example? Here it is. This is one of the speed shapes, molded in black styrene, onto which I hand brushed both, using a 1/4" brush, the clear base coat and a single coat of Easy Chrome. No clearcoat was applied: Again, this was hand brushed. Airbrushing produces a much more even finish. It's extremely durable. It doesn't rub off and is fingerprint-resistant. And, you can clearcoat it without diminishing its brilliance and reflective qualities. That said, you can see the lettering from the Moebius Lighting Kit booklet reflected clearly on the speed shape. If this doesn't convince any doubters as to the product actually working as advertised, I don't know what to tell you. You won't get better than this even by vacuum plating, using Alclad and definitely not with Molotow.

Airbrushing Humbrol enamels

Chalk it up to inferior polystyrene formulations used by kit manufacturers to cut overhead. -
Sheep lungs, that is. Sorta like shepherd's pie made with ground beef. It's called shepherd's pie because it contains lamb and shepherds tend sheep. Make it with chop meat and it's a farmer's pie. Accept no substitutes.

Haggis was banned from being imported into the U.S. because it contains sheep lung, the decision behind this is that stomach fluids enter the lungs during the butchering process, contaminating them. Haggis, without the sheep, is manufactured and sold by McKean's of Glasgow, which opened a manufacturing facility in Maine.

That's great stuff, Leslie. The peppercorn sauce with or without brandy?
-
Funny you should say that. I was in C Co/1st Bn/506th INF as my first duty assignment. Hardcore, Sir! Actually, I divided the leftover stew into portions and threw them into the freezer. Right next to the three dozen homemade placki (potato pancakes) I made Saturday.

I hope they're not paying him more than minimum wage.

I made a vat of veal stew. 5 1/2 lbs. of braised veal, 3 lbs of diced potatoes, 1/2 lb. of sliced carrots, 1 lb. of sliced Portobello mushrooms, 1/2 lb. of fresh peas, three large sliced onions, one large bunch of sliced scallions, 1 qt. of beef stock, i small can of tomato paste, 16 cloves of finely chopped garlic, two cans of beef gravy. After four hours of slow cooking on a low flame, we just knocked some off for dinner.

Very informative article about royal Triton Purple at that link: "There is currently no text in this page." -
I have the earlier issue of the Kafer. Let us know what your opinions on the Technik version are, especially the electronics in the kit. I might just get one myself.

That was my first thought. Knowing how that block was when the photo was taken (late '70s - early '80s), somebody probably tried to "borrow" the battery. -
Actually, it does. I use either or both on decals sealed with Krylon Clear after they've been cut from the sheet, dipped in water and positioned on a model.
-
Yes, it is. You can also spray a light coat of Krylon Clear on the decal sheet; although, you'll have to cut each decal from the sheet because they'll all be sealed by the clear coat. Once cut from the sheet, apply them the same way you'd apply other decals. You can even use Micro Sol and/or Micro Set to get them to conform to the surface.

You'll be good to go using the Lindberg chassis and suspension for the '62 dart, '63 Polaras and the '62-64 Furys. They all used the B-body chassis with a 116" wheelbase. The '65 and '66 Furys were built on the C-body platform which had a 119" wheelbase. You can use the Moebius Mopar chassis or scarf up either of the Revellogram '68 or '69 Chargers. Some surgery will be required on these also because the '66-'70 Chargers were built on the B-body platform with 117" w/b.
