My mum has around 20 of the singer sewing machines, some still on the foot power and some converted to electric. Growing up it seemed that every house i visited had one, and now most of them are at mums house in the windows. As well as the complete sewing machines she has numerous of the cast iron legs in the greenhouse for growing tomatoes. I dont know the ages of any of them but all of them are black with the gold scrollwork and one has the scrollwork engraved on but i believe it was done later as I've never seen another engraved one. incidentaly there was a ship wreck on a reef on the small island I'm from that the whole cargo was singer machines which may be where a lot of them came from originally but thats conjecture on my part (but knowing how small islands work it very likelly as I've seen a boat go aground and the crew get rescued and by the next morning anything of any use or value was stripped and hidden but its probably the only time a henhouse has been fitted with radar, lol)

Having a bad week on the boat due to 2 different storms, lost both backup wires for the ropes, lost many ropes and had no more to put out, access gangway is no longer straight and flat and some minor flooding in the steering void that has to be manually pumped out. The worst bit for me is getting into to void as my shoulders are as wide as the hatch. Hopefully we'll get some new ropes today as we cant afford to lose more if we want to stay tied up. oh and we ran out of coffee too

Can cars get offended (possibly herbie)? its not people being talked about, its objects so the terms aren't offensive for this subject -
Working Clear plastic...
stitchdup replied to CountryJoe's topic in Model Building Questions and Answers
for the chopped glass its probably easier to make some from the plastic you get in food containers or new dress shirt collars than it would be to cut them down. the pick up might be more difficult than the merc with the curved screen but thinner plastic should hold it shape well enough, -
the storyline makes more sense if you watch the loki tv series but there were hints in far from home about the new marvel path of interlinked universes. now disney are in control they're forgetting some people just want to watch a movie as a one off rather than a whole convulated series of movies/shows that interlink together.

terry ross used to write the small talk (models) section in the original uk street machine mag for around ten years. He competed a lot in the usa too. I've got one of his ceramic vw buses in a similar style to the bike. unfortunatelly he stopped doing his ceramics except for commisions, after having all his designs ripped off in the early naughties -

I've been learning german over the last few weeks at work. I'm happy to say I'm now at the same speaking level as an 8 year old. However I have found it extremely easy so maybe next time I'll pick a kid that speaks german

Mercedes Outlaws & Hot Rods
stitchdup replied to 89AKurt's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
because they can, old mercs are only expensive to you guys, and even then only the old rare ones are valuable. On this side of the pond mercedes are taxis and cars middle managers buy because they think they have made it, even the sls and slr lose lots of value when they leave the store so you can get a 2 or 3 year old merc for the same price as hot hatch. while you guys have recent mustangs and camaros as your cheap rwd cars we have mercs and bmws as ours- 130 replies

if your ordering wheels I suggest getting them a size or two bigger than you think you need, they seem a little undersized to me but most of my builds are 1/24. they are nice though -
He has a car in the petersen museum called gypsy rose, it was inducted into the historic vehicle register at the same time as the hirohata merc. Theres some good pics here, but my fav pi of it is when it was on show in DC with the hirohata https://classicandsportscar.com/features/gypsy-rose-queen-lowriders http://kustomrama.com/wiki/Walt_Prey
