So while we have to drive around lakes and find bridges you can just keep on going underwater, isn't that cheating? lol

Thats a nice pair of golfs sir, the real king of the hot hatches

Sweet, -
Sweet, enjoying watching this and picking up some tricks
-
Well put, from what I gather it was folk spreading rumours similar to those that shut down the USA hot vws mag

Its a great show, has every style of cars from hot rods to tuned honda scooters with everything in between. Speedhunters will be covering it too but moon Japanese website show everything thats there in their coverage
-
Cool, it looks like something you'd see at tokyo auto salon (starts next week and moon do some of the best coverage of it)
-
unfortunately that wasn't possible, i got it to give as a christmas gift but if i find another i'm getting it for myself and it will be out of the packaging
-
That looks pretty nice, a little extra detailing on it would really make it pop

I built this one a couple of years ago. I also wanted to keep it fairly close to how the kit was so it still has the wire axles and hole in the block. I think some of the parts i used may have been from other simialr era kits such as the studebaker custom seats in place of the ford ones. I also used both chopped tops so i can swap them depending on mood but my carson top pics seem to be awol. As far as problems the rear glass for the chopped vicky top is a little awkward to get fitted right but a little patience and time will see that job done.

Cool, gunmetal will work well to show the body lines. I agree with Jhedir6, the styling has grown on me now I've seen some modified versions

Does the miami vice ferarri count as a coke kit? or is it just liquid coke , lol -
lego were saved when they got the star wars movie paraphenalia, it led to more movie tie ins and pretty much saved the company. From what I've read they seem to follow the round2 model when it comes to nostalgic toys and are aimed at collectors taht had them as children rather than kids now

I should have ya covered for the gun, i have a load of german ww2 weapons in 1/24 leftover from the hasegawa kubelwagen kit

From the pic of the t1 camper it looks like they've put a cupboard in front of the side window. I'm not too up on the camper variations but it could be westphalia, devon, danbury or many others . I'll have to get my camper and bus mags out to be certain, but i think the westphalia had a full length pop top. Hopefully the aftermarket will do a variety of trim options for the interior since to make the different campers its mostly just a case of rearranging the interior.

Finally was the mitsuawa mk1 golf cab. I am really disappointed with this kit, it needed many hours of work to make it look like a golf, and the best thing about it is the top cover. All the trim and edges on this were pretty round when i started. I was considering using ronal teddy bear wheels but this kit is so bad it would have been a waste of nice wheels. This will be getting a tarp over the top and used in a dio eventually
-
Then came the fujimi mk5 r32. I really wanted to do a good job on this one, so i test fitted before after and during paint only for the back bumper to no longer fit, and to get it together it knocked the rear lights out of place. I have since bought another of this kit so I can build one with a nicer rear end

Next is the revell t3 un bus fitted with all the audi r8 v10 running gear. Again its not really that detailed but was a fun what if build. If you're building this kit you'll find the glass doesn't fit well at all with the screen being too wide at the bottom
-
Next up is the revell mk1 gti done as a battered clubman hill climber. This has a clearly scale 16v and a mix of wheels. The fronts have some fujimi turbo fans and both use esci mk2 escort front tyres
-
Next up is the amt scirocco. Quite an under rated kit in my opinion that really doesn't need much for the body, but the engine bay needs work. This one is mostly stock apart from I stole front suspension from another kit as this only has a bottom and wire. I also added twin carbs
-
Next up was a massey ferguson tractor. I wanted to build my grandfathers tractor which is a 35 instead of te20, so most of the work on this was the hood which was reshaped to more of a 35 hood. I know the engine isn't accurate for a 35 but it'll do me. It was also my first dio this year. The chevy pick up was an older build
-
Then came the suburu engine karmann ghia sleeper. I lost the badge for the front and side but it seems to work with the weathered paint. I also used fingernail art decals for the seat trim
-
Next up was what was intended to be a pro touring build but somehow ended up as a widebody mad max style interceptor with an indy car engine mounted high and proud. Not the most detailed build but it was fun messing about with it

I had a slightly more productive year than usual. Mostly volkswagens but there were a couple of american cars too. So I can get the pics with titles to say what they are I will be posting one build at a time. I'll start with the 1963 impala lowrider. For this one I wanted to give it the transformer look so the front end is a flip front but with the hood still opening. I hinged the body so it can tilt from the chassis and I hinged the roof too. The trunk now flips to the rear also. For the paint I really wanted to do something similar to the awesome lowrider paintjobs seen on here but it didn't really work out as i planned so instead it has some subtle ghost stripes
