This is one of the heller/humbrol bobcat series of kits so only has less than 30 parts and 8 of them are the tyres. I built this in 3 hours during the afternoon. I really put very little effort into it as its aimed more at kids than adults. I decided on this because it is such a simple kit, but still ended up doing a little extra detail. The wheels are from the old revell porsche 356 speedster as the wheels in this looked like they were for a small bus or truck. I also used the hubs from the revell as I didn't think vw hubcaps would have worked too well, lol. The only other detail is i added metal trumpets in place of the ugle chrome part and angled them towards the centre. I also wanted to use my c1 metal powder so the paint is mint green under c1 metaliser powder

Sweet, will be following -
It depends what the price is, I dont really care if its rare and if I've not built it myself I wont think twice about taking it apart. I've been lucky with some of my kits though, my rancher caddy came with a set of rechromed bumpers and the originals so if anyone needs a set of bumpers in need of chrome I have spares

It seems odd to me that accadamy have done the hyundais they have, last year it was a small sedan and this year the 4x4, yet nobody has done the coupe. I can see why though, hyundai as a brand seem to be getting more popular with younger buyers now and they offer some of the best after sales support. Most of the people I know that have them would buy another and 2 of them used to run bmw 4x4s

You could try drilling the centre out of some bbs and setting a new centre in it -

The teddys work on some cars but the ones on this golf are fully custom. I find these real daisy mags kinds ugly but i'm sure they'd be better in silver -

I'm sure i read somewhere that there are only 4 or 5 sets of those michelin man wheels. They were a competition prize or something like that. Theres a vw golf show car in the uk that was running a set -
Pretty cool bug, I'm sure loads of us had a similar one at some time

You get special cleaners for satin and flat finishes. I dont know how they would work on models but most detailing product manufacturers will probably have them. Maybe start on a bmw or hot rodclub site as they use more satin finish so their owners might be able to help

I think the offers all get put to the seller, its up to them to accept it or not. I didn't realise also if you have something in youur watch list, the seller gets told its there and can offer you it cheaper. I got the amt payhauler for a really good price and a fewwheels through getting offers at the right time

the pirelli edition has parts for both, I'm not sure about the silver one or the cab

I'm the target demographic, but it was probably cars like the vw polo and small cars like that. Ronal made a limited run of them withing the last 10 years too so there are fans out there. -
it depends on a lot of factors mate, it has much less side to side rolling than a single hull and out route is across the pentaland firth which is where the atlantic and north sea meet so its pretty rough. If the ballast is set right though you would find it a lot smoother as its 2 thinnner hulls instead of one fat one cutting through the water. Our new boat has less than 1 metre of draught when fully loaded too so we can use shallower water than single hulls, the equivelent single hull would be more than double. We use a lot less fuel too but thats can be down to engine choice as well as the hull. The taxi is the revell one but a new plan is forming there too so it wont look like this much longer

Both of your wheel choices look good to me though I prefer the top set. I reccomend you get the molotowe chrome pensso you wont have to worry about the chrome process either, really easy to use and great finish if you use it over a smooth surface. There are threads on here about them with more information. All I would say about the molotowe is to use it as late as possible as it doesn't like being handled and it doesn't touch up well until its had a few days to completely dry.

Found out last night after collapsing on the way to work, while on the bus and weeks of worrying that i dont have cancer. My lungs are wrecked but its not cancer. wear a good mask when painting and doing filler folks, its worth it

Please keep going, this is great to watch coming together. Seeing the different techniques you use is great, and I'm not ashamed to admit I plan to steal them for my own stuff

Yup and this time I really dont mind, if I'd known this was going to happen I'd have bought it 2 years ago

Caved in and bought a welly vw type 2 bus as I'd given up on ever seeing a plastic kit of it, 2 days later guess what revell announced? The one i got is red but will be getting redone as my dads old one in dark blue and white with some parts from the t3 camper to approximate the conversion. Luckily the welly is lhd so that saves me a job. Dads one had quite an interesting life having been bought in germany new and driven back to canada the long way. The only bit of its history I have yet to find out is how it ended up for sale in a newspaper on a small scottish island

Slammed a revell london taxi and started a chop. Got as far as cutting the roof off when the weather took a turn for the worse and everything started sliding about so i packed it away again. Hope to finish the chop tonight and decide what else to do, maybe a section to go with the chop as the interior is lower than the body. Of course if the boats jumping again none of that will happen, quite enjoying getting paid to build models (I'm nightwatch on a boat and theres no real work to do)
