Its motivation, just need more practice first

Thankyou sir, so its sorta like a paper model compared to plastic, it has its place just not in our hobby
-
same place, my wheels from ucsp are marked diolex on the boxes

They look useful, especially for rims so I hope i can find them over here. I have some I'd like to do the same as you on and my masking sucks. I've used the gelly roller acrylic pens to do pin striping on models with some success but they only work after a light 1500 wnd. They can be clearcoated too but with them you need to clear between colours to save on smudging.

mrmodel.com have some nice pe stuff, they're in brazil I think but delivert times are good. -
I think I've caught up, seeing this makes me want to add some lamborghinis to my vw stash but I know I'd only compare it to yours and be disapointed by mine.

The massey ferguson 2680 tractor was part of the series. I dont have that boxing but i got the recent heller release a couple of months ago. The box sides for the porsche show b102 mechanical digger, b103 ford cobra (coupe but it could just as easily be a ferarri from the pic, lol) b101 dumper truck and b105 sea king helicopter. The porsche is b104. The porsche is the only one I've ever seen though si i cant say for sure any of the others were ever actually produced

The humbrol enamels are good, the acrylics I just cant get to work as well as the enamels though -
Arrived this morning from c1-models. This is a VW Caddy mk1 for the revell mk1 kits. I'll probably use one of the corrado engines in this though as a g60 is a pretty cool engine, and I dont really want to mess about opening the hood on them

I'm a fan of trucks but...

The bollinger thing is just a rip off from land rover, maybe a little wider but at least it looks like a car and not some sort of kitchen aid -

yeah but is first runner up any better? -
Over here the younger folks are leasing more than buying, and i can see why its attractive to them with a new car every 3 years. It just doesn't appeal to me and its hammered the price of used cars to the point I would never want a second hand ex lease car. When you dont own it and have some hope of a trade in from it, you just dont take the same amount of care. At least with old cars you know someone has taken some sort of care or it would be gone by now, or at least can have a chance of fixing it yourself

It could be mate, this is the only humbrol boxed bobcat kit i've seen, the others have all been heller. I have their 70s massey ferguson but i'd like to find the digger thing on the side of the box (if its 24 or 25 scale only)

Wow, the chassis looks awesome with the shocks on show

I blame the cat too, I dont actually have a cat and its definitely not my going bald, honest guys -
Beautiful build of a nice looking racecar.

Cheers guys, for a paint test it turned out ok but I think i need to do more testing with the c1 powder. It really should have been light blue metallic under it. This is one of those occasions when the pics are better than seeing it for real. Since this actually looks ok i might strip it in the future and do it right with a 959 chassis under it (my tamiya nas a crushed top),

Thanks guys, your help has saved me cash cos I know nothing about 3d printing

Cheers mate, my dettol couldn't be any cheaper though, I get it from work free but i'll try a little dish soap in it too, it wont hurt

Sweet, I haven't seen one of these for years and yours is much nicer than the ones I saw

Resin body slowly dying!!
stitchdup replied to Lorne's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
That sucks mate. Is there anyway to reinforce the body to stop it getting worse, its too nice to let it go floppy -
I use nail art brushes and artist brushes mainly. Usually synthetic as I just dont get on with the horse hair ones. Most of my brush painting has been with humbrol enamels up until recently but I'm slowly turning to acrylics (tamiya, humbrol and whatever is free in the heller and revell kits) I usually give them a reasonable clean after each session at the bench but every 2 or 3 months I'll soak them overnight in dettol, then when I take them out I brush them with an old denture toothbrush, always from top of bristle to the bottom. On the nail art brushes it sometimes doesn't work but their dirt cheap (7 for a quid!) Maybe i should look for brush wash next time i'm in the art shop ordering styrene

Built a sorta bare ali porsche 906 in about 3 hours. Very simple kit though, maybe 30 parts and 8 were the tyres. Going to have to pick another simple kit for tomorrow now. Probably another porsche but this time maybe the tractor, of course if my new dust mask arrives I'll be painting a c1 old n new porsche in rothmans livery

I have a set if you need measurements? measurements would be in mm though cos I aint very good at the old fashioned type
