  1. Just in from air trax is a vw 411 and a vw 412. shipped from finland on friday and arrived in the far north of scotland this morning. some uk sellers cant even manage that, lol
  2. your best bet is probably welly diecast but you could also check the ford website. I remember seeing them list 3d prints of one of the pick ups a few years ago but they weren't cheap
  3. It took 5 hours but the decals are on. The 968 kit i took them from was pretty old so some took a lot of jigsawing back together to get on. The blue decals were ok but the white ones put up a good fight but I got reasonably close. They were also too big but respacing and some careful trimming got them reduced enough to fit the doors. I also got the interior finished off and added the chrome to the wheels. You cant see too well in the pics but the centres and baskets of the wheels are gold.
  4. I think this is the first time mines been tidy enough to get pics. This is just the complete kits. Theres a few tubs of parts and maybe 25-30 started kits too. I've got them sorted into vw and porsche kits above my bench, american kits under the bench and to the right. Also to the right and under the us kits are larger boxes, my wheels sorted into sets in the black tubs with my resin (mostly vw and british cars) to the right of that. On another set of shelves I have more larger boxes that didn't fit the shelves. Up until this weekend most of thie was stacked on my couch due to a lack of shelving. Its kinda nice to be able to see it for a change
  5. I dont suppose anyone has one of his 35 ford front end conversions they'd part with? I had been meaning to get one after i saw them on his fotki account
  6. you wont be dissapointed with them, I tend to buy a few sets when I have extra cash to keep me out of the pub
  7. This is the car I'm trying to get close to, only the sponsor logos are stickers, the rest is all paint http://www.speedhunters.com/2018/05/envisioning-reality-the-old-and-new-porsche-911/
  8. I've got these rear fenders like these left over from the trans kit if they are any help mate, the trans kit came with 2 options. Got a mint body and bumper too
  9. They're from ucsp mate, thay say 19 but i think that must be in 1/25 as my aoshima wheels are all bigger
  10. This is the c1 trans kit for the tamiya 996. I am building it as the rothmans version that is one of the big hitters in the euro stance scene, but I have dont a couple of little changes. I decided against bbs wheels and instead went for some ucsp 1552 dkubus rims in 19" staggered fitment. Dont worry about the pic with the wheels sticking out, that was just to test fit and they weren't pushed in tight, just loosely in place so they could be removed. I also altered the paint a little to simplify the masking. I will be using the decals from the tamiya 956 kit. Other than a lot of lowering the rest of the kit is pretty much stock. All thats left to paint is the black on the glass and wiper panel but I'll probably brush them with citadel mephisto black as it has a nice rubber look when it gets a little wax. Still a couple of pieces to go on the chassis but its nearly there. I've included a pic to show how much wider than the stock kit it is
  11. the final design was done in 1938 so the box wasn't that far off,
  12. They are out there in resin, I have both in the stash from bestmodelcarparts on ebay and they are very nice
  13. I haven't seen a wizard kit in years, and thats the first van version i've seen. All the rest were convertibles
  14. added some new shelving to my model area and on top of my bench with led strips under the lower shelf. This was still a bit dull so i used chrome heating tape to make a reflector and no its plenty bright to work under but with the lights out of view from my eyes. I decided to put the one set of shelves on top of my bench because I never really use the whole bench anyway. Now I can see what kits I have without having to pull other boxes out of the way. I even sorted them into countries mainly but all my vw/porsche/audi/skoda/etc family of kits are above the bench now, and I have my resin kits all together instead of scattered into any available space. Still a little tidying up to do and a board to fit along the bottom of the shelves to avoid parts going under and being lost but I'm nearly there
  15. The tamiya is my preference but thats mainly due to the transkits i have being for them. I believe the revell are sedan and convert from slightly later years than the tamiya but they are both decent kits. Also the tamiya kits are cheaper than the revell ones on this side of the pond somehow. Its really down to what year you want to build. If your not too worried about having an engine theres also the gunze oval and italeri 70s versions. The curbsides are basic but nice enough for the price but I'm in the uk so again they're cheaper here.
  16. Liking where this is heading
  17. Ive used moss from a florists before. Going to have to try this too, thanks
  18. Sweet, Im just finishing off the c1 trans kit for this
  19. I think about a third of my stash came from resale shops/charity shops, even more if you include the resellers on ebay. Some I'm sure i paid too much for but they were kits i wanted so i dont mind that. All my johan kits were from resellers and were well under ebay values. 63 plymouth - $20 rancher caddy-$25 plymouth cop wagon -$20 63 olds- $15 revell escort xr3 parts kit(missing grille and headlights) $5 frog moecedes (box ruined-glass glued)- $25 tamiya audi quattro road - $15 tamiya audi quattro rally -$20 emhar bedford olb $15 airfix 1/24 spitfire (damaged box,no instructions) $30 thats just the ones i remember, theres a load more (one entire wall of my living room is just kits 15ft by 10ft) but if you convert the prices into £s they are even lower
  20. Theres the revell parts pack t body too
  21. Nice work, some really inspiring stuff. Can I ask why you went from the ali cage to the plastic? No real reason just curiosity
  22. sorry that was all i found from an old ebay listing through google images.
  23. Found this pic mate, it might get you started. It was also an airfix kit so you might have more luck searching for those instructions
  24. If your in the uk it takes longer for some reason, my orders all take at least 4 weeks but i guess mine would go by road rather than air
  25. From the pics they look to be sticks to glue sand paper to. Not actual files and it says further down sand paper not included. Could be useful but you'd probably be able to do the same with popsicle sticks, and then you can shape them how you want
