  1. the camo is better than the wraps you see in london
  2. thats not bad when you consider the average price in the uk is $7.15 a gallon
  3. Hobby design do cone style, mushroom style and hks type versions that are all really nice, or if your looking to save money valve caps from a racing push bike innertube can be painted to look convincing
  4. enamel comes away in sheets so that you can almost peel it like a banana, acrylic sorta gums up then rubs off. You might find its sold under another brand name in the USA though. Also it can be poured down the toilet when it gets too dirty and it doesn't stink like oven cleaner. It comes in spray bottles so I spray it and sit it in a tub with the lid on and I reuse the run off
  5. I use fairy power spray, it seems to work on every type of paint I've tried it on. There are 2 types of it though and its the gel spray you want.
  6. Sweet, I'm doing pretty much the same with the heller fire truck
  7. look through the show pics on socalcustoms or trucktrend and you should find loads
  8. I started on one of these yesterday, only to find the instructions missing but thanks to members here and great customer service from round 2 I'm now well on with it. The only problem so far is the front panel fit is terrible on the stock parts. It will need plastic added and fitted properly. The rear panel fit is much better but again it way off. I'm fixing this by sanding the entire panel to fit the sides. The worst thing for me about this kit is the 1/25 scale (mainly because all my other vws are 1/24) and the amount of flash, but a little extra effort and I think it should make a presentable build
  9. it looks like its just a disc behine the stock rims, you might get away with trying some spare brake discs with the calipers removed
  10. Pulled this back onto the bench, and expanded the build a little by adding a matching hauler to it. I started the hauler with the heller fire truck kit, but have used a 50 ford cab instead of the open one on the original. For the engine I plan to use a datsun 240z engine to sorta keep it inline with the car. The rear suspension is from a revell 32 and the front will be a mash up between the kit axle and some more 32 parts. The wheels are from a maisto diecast. The decking is coffee stirrers.
  11. do you have a pic of the wheels you're looking for? I can only find pics of it on the 5 spokes at monte carlo
  12. well I'm along for the ride, Loved seeing these on the telly as a kid and have the kit on pre order
  13. Its not a bad kit, the interior is pretty nicely done though decals would be better than the stickers they included. It needs lowered to get rid of the 4x4 stance, but it has some strong possibilities
  14. What type of cars interest you? If it's rally cars from a similar age to the fiat, belkits do a few, and while they dont have engines they are very nicely detailed
  15. I've got a revell mk2 vw golf in the kamei x1 boxing I will probably never build, but its the same as the tuner version revell usa released so I'll build that one instead. Its not really a lack of interest though
  16. Sad news, he brought a lot of joy to many of us when we were growing up
  17. I'm in the uk and i got mine from lidl but they only get non food items sporadically, you could try amazon.
  18. was this one painted green for sema? I dont recall seeing a white one with a tesla swap but the green one got a load of coverage
  19. cats can always find a way to surprise us, one of mt neighbours cats managed to bring a full grown live duck in through a window 6 ft up the wall. I wish I'd seen his face when he woke up to find a duck in his living room
  20. exactly, i havent seen a rat for years, and i live right on the shore. by told them firmly I meant we had him by the throat and told him to put up or shut up. 4 weeks later his house was sold and he no longer lives in the islands
  21. My cat had to be put down a few months ago due to severe arthritus and old age and we still miss her, but there are a number of strays that live in our garden. We put one to the vet last week as it was obvious there was something wrong with its face. It turned out to have a bad infection so now has all its teeth removed, and has its bits cut off. Unfortunately due to my being away for the weeks i work i was unable to keep it but it is now with a loving foster home and doing well. We used to have a neighbour that tried to poison the strays but all the other neighbours told him firmly why we fed the strays, (keeps the rats away) and they soon moved out.
  22. The revell has a nice rear end, at least the one with the white roadster/convertible on the box from revell.de rt/10 maybe?. I'm sure it would have a us release too. I'm not sure if it's the same in the earlier shape kits
  23. I've been looking into alternative hosting methods for those that dont want to pay for pic hosting. If you have a facebook account you can use it as a host in much the same way as current hosts work. Another method is to find a sites that do free blog hosting (eg. tumblr) as you can use them as pic host too. Hope this information helps someone
  24. I took the deal. I lost nearly all my pics with pb so $4 a month isn't too bad to save me the hassle again. But my flickr is also used by the local vintage club since I make sure to have everything from their show on it
  25. I've got one of those, it works pretty well
