  1. Hey all, I’m working on a kit that came with side-mirrors, but no actual mirror glass. Is there an easy way to make a template for the shape? I’m thinking of using clear packaging material and painting the inside or using bmf on the outside for the mirror. Just not sure of a good way to cut out the right shape.
  2. Looking really good so far. Those wheels are gonna be perfect for this ride!
  3. I think these are really cool. This kit was on my most wanted list until finally finding one recently. This one looks great! How did the build go for you?
  4. Got a bunch of paint today. This is part of my ongoing struggle to get good paint jobs. Going to be picking up some duplicolor perfect match sometime soon too. But this is a pretty good start.
  5. Hey thanks for the encouragement. I’m in a place where I need it right now. Much appreciated!
  6. Man, that is NICE! Beautiful build.
  7. That looks fantastic. Great paint work and detail. I really love those seats!
  8. Oh this is gonna be awesome! Looks great already!
  9. Those both look great! The ‘55 looks almost complete already. And your choice of color is perfect. Looking forward to seeing both of them under glass..
  10. Nope. It’s got an engine and even a couple different exhaust options. Not sure how much detail there is though. I haven’t checked it out yet.
  11. Looks awesome. Very cool build. Where did I put those sunglasses…?
  12. This is the one I found recently. Not my picture but it’s the same kit.
  13. Excellent work. Very nice.
  14. That is stunning. My opinion, this was possibly the most beautiful race car ever built.
  15. Looks great! Really nice paint job.
  16. Andy is right. They aren't in the toy department. At Christmas time they were back by where all the trees were. Now they're in the middle of the store in a display stand. Also, it looks like not many Wal Marts even had kits. I checked about half a dozen stores and this was the only one that had them.
  17. That's really cool. Never seen that kit before.
  18. Great job. Those colors are perfect!
  19. Sweet ride! It doesn't get much cooler than a '59 El Camino.
  20. I picked up a Revell issue of this kit Friday. Graphics are just dull though. I’d love to see them reissue this with some funky 70’s airbrush style graphic decals.
  21. I’m starting yet another kit today. I just picked this up Friday for $5 at Wally World. Didn’t realize it was a shortened body until I opened the box. At first I thought “no way ! That will never get built.” But it kinda got under my skin for some reason. The more I thought about it, the more possibilities I thought of. It’s pretty far from what I usually do, but lately I’ve been drawn to the oddballs and outcasts. That being said, I don’t have a clear vision for it yet, which is new for me too. I don’t normally begin work until I get a pretty clear idea of what I want in the end. Truthfully, some of it might have to do with the fact that I don’t really care if this kit comes out good or not. Sounds crazy, but I’ve been struggling with paint issues lately, and I need to do something to change gears and get excited again. So the only thing that is certain for this kit is that the paint will be an experiment of some kind. And for a fiver, if it’s a fail, no big deal. So here we go again! As always, comments, suggestions, tricks and tips are appreciated. Thanks for following along! Here’s the kit I’m starting with. I think it’s the same one as the “superbug gasser”. I cleaned up the body, trunk and hood. That’s as far as I am so far. Hmmm…. Drag car? Maybe stuff an engine in the front? No idea yet!?
  22. That was a good deal. I think I must have just misted out on it. When I checked it was out of stock. Now they're available again but at $20.
