  1. This is infact a killer build. And a very cool racer to boot!
  2. One doesn't have to like the positon, but one should respect it. Modern society is built upon rules and regulations, which when followed, people prosper. When not, pandemonium occurs. Sure a few bad apples but thats called humanity. Infact, look at a basket of apples, it takes but one or two to make em all look bad. Wipe em clean and you find most are in fact very good.
  3. That's interesting. I know the LMM kits are known for there accuracy. I used to be hot and heavy over the LMM Mirage kit but afx posted some rather detailed and informative info on the history of the GT40 family. And since getting the 69 GT40, it looks very close to the Mirage. Plus I've an HRM egine for it so I'm stoked. Plus I'm liking platic over resin at this point. Still those MiniExotic kits from what I hear are pretty killer.
  4. Hi, Just an FYI, there was an eBay auction going on a 1/24 LMM Mirage kit. No bids and ended at $140. I'll let you know if and when it reposts. I know some here woud love to have it. Here is the link to the expired auction; http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lemans-Miniatures-Mirage-FORD-M1-1967-Lemans-1-24th-resin-kit-/301723882076?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2047675.l2557&nma=true&si=U2blUFEWT%2F7NDIuCf4ELDfbKChE%3D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc
  5. Thanks Jeff. And your build looks perfect.
  6. Wow, this is my language! Totally bitchen and a historically wonderful racer I have this kit but from Fujimi. Do you think its a simple re issue of the Heller kit or a bit more refined in terms of fit?
  7. Nice Golf GTI, that is my guess. I had that same Nogaro Blue on my S4, geat color!
  8. Well, they prolly went with the lowest bidder (or a friend of the family, a so called boy genious in collage) who didn't test in a virtual env before a live switch over etc... I caught one subcontractor farming out our web work to India, whose coders were just noodling etc... creaing a mess of code. I was curious why changes were taking soo long so I monitored traffic and sorta giggled when I found out. Lotta kooks out there.
  9. Thanks for all the nice comments. Still waiting for the Dino so I am toiling away at this project.
  10. Wow, righteous build. Inspirational indeed. So much talent on this forum, so cool.
  11. Wow! This is totally riktor scale cool!
  12. Hi, You may or may not know but Amazon will donate .5% of your eligable purchases to National Mill Dog Rescue; https://smile.amazon.com/ch/26-0574783 Or simply choose one via here; https://smile.amazon.com Anyways, doesn't cost anything and I thought to mention it. The number of poor chookies in need of lovies is astounding!
  13. Wow, a class act to an order of magnetude. I wished I had gotten to know you. My sincerest condolences for your tremendous loss. It's my experiance that some times toiling in endeavors you love the most is the best healing. At any rate have a fantastic time at the toy show.
  14. OMG what a killer build. Holy guacamoly.
  15. Hi, While waitng for a Dino 206 body to come as I destroyed the previous one, I decided to make some progress on an idea; a Chapparal 2D Spyder CanAm. I had an extra Fuji Chaparral 2D kit due to missing key parts from the intial one bought off fleaBay. I duplicated said parts via a resin casting kit so the 2nd Fujimi kit eneded up being complete. I scratch built the wheels in terms of combining tires to make some fat ones. And also built the rims from some lame ones I almost gave away. I bought an already assembled Monogram 2D off eBay for $4.95 for its fenders which were grafted on to the Fuji kit. I had used Bondo spot glaze but it melted the fenders so it took me hella effort to make em ok. Crazy Glue was used to re enforce and harden em as they were rubbery. I then used Tamiya White Putty for the repair work. I read after the fact that warpage could happen when too much Bondo is applied, which it was. I'm scratch building the engine from some parts; a 426 Hilborn Injected some thing or other from some one who is no longer in biz. Webers will be used with some tall intakes. A lot of work was already done on the engine beileve it or not. The idea will be to paint it Sunoco style. There is still 2-3 putty/sand/spray sessions left which require me to lightly spray with Tamiya grey primer in allowing imperfections to show as I go along. All in all a total f-ing PITA but I'm making progress, at times like Molasses up hill. This is technically my 3rd project and man model building has proven very hard for me. As afx once said, I am picking too advanced topics to start with but its how my mind works, a curse at times. Anyways, this will be done in several months as I can't wait to put it down for a while.
  16. I wonder if shaking the cans now and again could prevent this? Sorta like turning your bed over now and again. PS I'll shake my bottles and cans here and there from now on. PSS I rotate my tires and check alignment during every oil change as well; ~4K miles or so. Got the Firestone life time balance/aligment program, already used it 3 times in the past 6 months. Def worth it, I highy recommend it!
  17. You know what? I bet if you made a resin copy of the body, you'd make bank off this site alone. You can market it as a transkit. I've found using the Super Casting Kit by Alumilite is very very easy. And if its easy for me, then for you its even easier! Plus Hobby Lobby coupons etc... You've potential here.
  18. Wow, I love the diversity of your subject matter. Very very cool. Awesome, another Yoda I see
  19. Wow, turned out sooo killer! The only con is that... well... not enough photos. Can you post more? PS Its like a Ferrari 250 on massive steroids!
  20. Now you're talking my language. Very cool, looks like a show room!
  21. WOW! I like these cars! Man thats amazing work! Another master, welcome to the board. We've quite a few Yodas on this board. You'll be joining em.
  22. You know, I was in the middle of shaping and old Vons Club card of mine for just such a purpose. Thanks man!
  23. Hey, this worked pretty darn well, thanks man!
  24. Wow killer buld thread afx, thanks for the post.
  25. I'm curious, in terms of the 1 piece Bondo, do you apply with your fingers? I'm finding that I can't apply it perfectly unless with my fingers. I know this fromage is toxic as hell. Curious how you deal with it. I've 2 of those putty type spatulas as well. Pictured are both for referefance;
