  1. Interested in seeing this come together. I really like PlowBoys and the red 37 picture with the hood sides. Are you planning to section any of the box or leave it stock? I'm also interested to see how you do the top chop.
  2. Did I miss this somewhere, but what frame are you using?
  3. Like where you're going with this build. Your builds are always so great. I love these 1st Gen Chevy II's. I have a real 62. Can't wait till my copy of this kit gets here.
  4. I guess I should add that I did a test on a model that had been sprayed with Rust-Oleum 2X primer just to see how difficult it was to do and didn't notice any issues. Guess I should shoot some gloss white on that model and see what happens.
  5. I bought this stuff in black and gray and then read on the bottle that you're not suppose to apply this over enamel paint or that it may cause the plastic to become brittle.................. What the heck. I guess I should have done a better job or researching.... I have my latest model painted with Testors gloss white and cleared with Krylon Gloss paint. Most of my painting is done with enamel paint. I've never tried to use anything to outline the panel lines. I've seen on YouTube videos people applying this to bare plastic models and then finish painting them as well as using it on finished painted models. Never said whether if was enamel or not. My painted model as sat for about 10 days now and I'm wondering if I should be ok using it, or do I need to apply some other coating? Maybe Pledge floor finish? Any application information would be appreciated.
  6. I see where people are showing the really thin wiring that shows up on the firewalls on some of the models. How the heck are you guys painting them? I have tried a marker, but it's not dark enough. Would appreciate any help.
  7. Thanks for all the responses. I have used dupli-color primer with no problems, but didn't know about the engine paints. Going to get some and test it.
  8. Has anyone used any of the Dupli-Color engine paints? Says they are engine enamel, but contain Ceramic Resins. If so, what primer did you spray it over?
  9. Also what can be done to remove dust from the kits setting on an open shelf?
  10. Looking for ideas on what people are using to store their completed builds. Want to make sure they are visible, but protected from regular dust and such. I have a few of the individual storage things. Was trying to find a glass hutch to use, but the wife has to approve that and that's become impossible.
  11. What putty/fillers are some of you using? I see some pictures showing a redish putty that's being used. I have been using Tamiya putty, but if you sand it to thin it flakes off.
  12. Can I ask how you are attaching the front wheels? I know that it has a wire axle that goes thru the engine compartment. Are you drilling a hole in the engine, or using some type of stub axles. I re-read your posts and don't think I missed how this was done.
  13. This is my next build and I found your build while doing my research. Your detailing is incredible. Well done build.
  14. Just found this build. Recently purchased 2 of this kit. One being build as a Super Stock race car and the other was going to be stock with a set of 5 spoke wheels from the 32 Ford kits, but this build has made me rethink that direction. Awesome build Dennis and your scratch building ability is really impressive.
  15. Just found your 66 Pro Street Nova. Beautiful work Aymer. I building the same kit and am interested in what you used to complete the centers of the wheels. They are way better looking than what the kit offers. Thanks for any info and well done on this kit.
  16. Simple question. Model is already in primer, and I would like to use some Tamiya rattle can paint. Can I shoot Tamiya gloss back over Rustoleum 2x primer?
  17. How can we sign up for a subscription, or can it only be purchased at stores?
  18. Looking for ideas on how to paint the recessed Ford logo on a set of hub caps I'm using. The logo is too small to paint by hand, but large enough to show up. I have tried using a felt pen and wiping off the excess, but it also removes the recessed portion too. Any ideas would be appreciated.
  19. I have been working on a couple of builds that are mostly in Rust-Oleum 2X primer. I am wanting to use the Testors Extreme Lacquer to paint them. My question is will it be ok to paint the lacquer over the enamel primer? I know that's a no no when using automotive paints, but not sure about paints for plastic models. I would shoot an old body, but the weather is to darn cold here right now, so thought I could get some go advice here. I have also been decanting rattle cans and using my air brush cause I just can't get the testors paints to lay down smooth. Any recommendations on using the rattle cans is appreciated.
  20. Detailing my dash and want to cover the instrument cluster to represent the clear glass cover. What are some recommendations on what I can use?
