  1. Why not use the body from one of the AMT Ford vans that are on the market right now? If you need a longer wheelbase body you could easily graft two together.
  2. I think Jason's right on this Chris. That's definitly the Revell 1/25 Yenko Camaro. Mistakes like that happen all the time.
  3. An '85. "work in progress'.
  4. Hi Chris. Looking at that White Lightning body, I'd say it's supposed to be an '87 GTA body. Same ground affects package as my 1/1 '85 T/A but it lacks the vents in the front fenders behind the wheel openings.
  5. Oh man! I just love this shot ,,, the proportions are just perfect ! What a great build you have going on here.
  6. That turned out great. I always suspected someone with the skills could make a fine looking model out of that old dog of a kit and you proved that right there. ???
  7. I haven't tried it myself but I understand it will fit. I really couldn't say about the drive shaft. I've really never gave it much thought, really.
  8. Yea, I did remember ,, that's why the winky smiley face. ? Not sure I can pull it off though ,, we'll see.
  9. Here's the look I'm shooting for. I found this pic on the net but I've seen this truck in person a couple times and just fell in love with it.
  10. I actually cut them off and used them on my '68. ? I may use another cab,, or make a set like someone else here did. ?
  11. Beautiful automobile.
  12. Looks great. I think this is the first one I've actually seen built.
  13. Roger, is the overall width of your bed the same as the width of your cab? I"m asking as I'll be starting on mine soon and the rear fenders have always looked too narrow to me. I did widen the fenders on the last stepside I did and plan to do it on this one as well. , , Update, measured mine, found that the bed is 79mm wide, abiut right. Bed with fenders is '74mm wide. So, my fenders need 2.5mm added to each. Yours looks great in that gold paint !!
  14. I've been tinkering with some of the '70/'72 cab parts and the built chassis from a Revell '65 chassis I have. Check out the fit after just clipping a bit off the front of the frame rails. Looks like they were made for each other. Even the engine is right where it should be. You could just build it like this or address the inaccurate inner fenders. Either way, it's an easy swap. And, yes, I'll be swapping out the rear fenders for a set of the correct year.
  15. OK, to bring this back to the topic of the earlier trucks ,,, I've been tinkering with some of the '70/'72 cab parts and the built chassis from a Revell '65 chassis I have. Check out the fit after just clipping a bit off the front of the frame rails. Looks like they were made for each other. Even the engine is right where it should be. You could just build it like this or address the inaccurate inner fenders. Either way, it's an easy swap. I think this will be my next project after the Grand Prix is finished.
  16. Hi Edgar, I have my chrome redone by Dale Horner of "Little Motor Kar Co". Louis Bernier of "Chrome +" in Quebec used to do it but he seems to have fallen off the earth a few years ago. Now there's no one I know of in Canada who does it.
  17. Thanks Geno. There really isn't that much to the tint.I just first airbrush on the dark tint band using Tamiya royal blue acrylic, then give the whole thing an overcoat of Tamiya clear with a bit of thier clear blue and green mixed in it then a couple more strait coats of Tamiya clear so I can polish it out when it's dry.
  18. Sanded the first coat of putty on the repairs and shot a coat of primer on it. , , , Also shot the tint coat on a couple sets of glass. Tomorrow, I'll give it a very light wet sanding to remove any boogers it's picked up and apply a couple coats of Tamiya clear acrylic.
  19. Cool. ??? Fun sanding all that side trim off, eh? When I did mine I used a Dremmel with a small 80 grit drum ,, wish I had a belt sander for it at the time, it was so thick !
  20. The Galaxie was 6 inches longer in wheelbase [119 to 116] and about 5 inches longer overall [210 to 205.4]. The Thunderbird was not a small car. I just checked the kits against each other and they look about right. So, to answer your question Mark ,, Yes, you are crazy. ?
  21. If we ever get any kits of Australian cars , ,
  22. So, anyone know if this '71 Mustang is based on the AMT or MPC kit? Last time we seen the AMT kit it was a race car only kit. The MPC kit was the only one you could build stock.
  23. Yup, I did the exact same thing for this one.
  24. I'm digg'n this Roger. These are my favorite trucks. Seeing all the builds on the board's making me want to start another one. ☺️
